The engine couldn't cope at high altitudes which made it less of a pure fighter. This meant it couldn't take on the roles it was needed for, such as being a long-range escort for bombers. though i'm sure most of those problems were solved when later models were equipped with the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine.

Last year, I happened to meet a former F-14 pilot who now flies Boeing 777s for a major U.S. airline. He was inspired to fly after the original Top Gun and he didn’t think he would be able to be an F-14 pilot. He really loved what he did! At some point, he was ready for a new job and decided to fly for one of the airlines flying passengers. He was super humble to the point where he paid for my hotel bus fee even though I told him he didn’t have to. He embodied the best of what the U.S. Navy has to offer!

I’m an aircraft mechanic, and flew with pilots on both small Aeroclub aircrafts and 737’s.
Just flying the aircraft isn’t that hard. Taking off requires a bit of training and reflexes, landing even more, but what gets is all the other tasks you must do.
Navigation, communications, checking the instrument, weather forecasts, pre flight plannings, route mapping, remembering to check all the instruments. It felt as an hassle just being on the jump seat, can’t imagine doing it myself.

That thing is a total monster...straight out of every opposing pilots nightmares, there's nothing they can do to avoid a 22 deciding to end them. The SU-57 is similar to the 35 but it's not actually a STEALTH jet, it's low visibility, very different. The Darkstar does indeed exist. It’s being (as far as WE know) referred to as the “Son of the Blackbird” with its actual name being “SR-72 Darkstar”. It’s 98’ long, with a comfortable operational ceiling of 80k feet (though I’m sure it can go higher), as well as bolstering potential Mach 6+ speeds. It was initially developed to be a UAV with the same missions as it’s predecessor, the SR-71 Blackbird. But that’s legit all us normal folks know about it, or think we know.

The "SR-72" is a design proposal that Lockheed has been pushing for a decade now, the DOD largely appears to still be on the fence. Also, "many fifth generation aircraft are their own strike package" is also just a weird statement. First of all, the F-22 can basically do nothing but air superiorty, so his point about being able to do everything is just not applicable.
