Laura, Take some action. Meditation heals anxiety as it reprogrames the mind. Watch alternate nostril breathing meditation videos on Google and do it for 5 to 10 minutes if possible twice a day. You can sit on a chair or on the ground and do it. Inhale-exhale slowly and feel the relaxation flowing through your mind and body. Negative thoughts will reduce. Shyaaam Sir, Mentor. Make meditation a daily habit to enjoy life.

I had my first panic attack in October last year. I’ve watched over a hundred videos about anxiety and panic attacks. This is by far the best video I’ve seen. My conditions started with stress, shortness of breath, fast heart rate, dizziness, choking sensation, sometimes I get the feeling you have when your heart drops as you go down on a roller coaster ride and lose all control ( just sitting down or driving). I have just about all the symptoms related to anxiety and learning new things everyday. Thank you so much for the information with these videos. I’m not alone and you guys watching aren’t neither. We all can make it through this. God bless.

Reneau Peurifoy It was a pleasure to watch, honestly! I felt each point wasn't over laboured, everything was nice and concise without being confusing and over complicated. The fact you made it seem so easy to understand made me realise how simple panic disorder really is once you get a handle on it. Again, I really can't thank you enough. You made such a positive impact on my life allowing me to overcome panic disorder before it could completely cripple my life!

There are a few suggestions worth trying
Do Not have stimulants including alcohol and caffeine
      Take part in relaxing activities
      Exercise regularly
      Join a self-help group

I cannot express how thankful I am for this video. 2 years ago I was in a very dark place w anxiety and struggled so much on trying to understand/cope w it. I somehow stumbled on this and this video single handily helped me overcome my panic disorder. I watched it religiously and wrote sticky notes that I still have years later by my door to remind myself every day. Here I am again due to high stress/anxiety in my life and watching this all over again is SO refreshing. Thank you! ❤️❤️

Thank you!!!This has tremendously helped me for my panic attacks.I kept telling myself " This can't be as bad as the 1st panic attack I've had,,,it can't go worse, just better from here." Also the fact that " its impossible to get a panic attack while your fully externalised " reassures me and I go do something right away, play guitar, drawing, passing the vacuum, doing dishes ect,,,once I was going to get my daughter at school and I could feel a panic attack starting, right away I started signing one of the Beatles songs and was taping the rhythm on the sides of my legs,,,I didn't care how I looked it was better than having a panic attack in public!Like Judy said " This slideshow presentation by Reneau Peurifoy is the most helpful thing I've ever come across "It has saved me!!Thank you so much Mr Peurifoy!!I will definitely share this with others.

I have had maybe 3 times a start of a panic attack,,,as soon as it would start I would take control and stop it,," nahhh! back off" I would say " I know what you are,,nope! not gonna go there" and I would sing or remember a funny moment,,,anything just to "change" that mind frame....It has been years that I havnt even "felt" a panic attack coming on....Thank you sooo sooo sooo much!!! Thank you so much for these videos!! My 'issues' have been ongoing for the last 12yrs or so. I felt stupid and was trying to fix my symptoms without understanding the underlying reasons (IE: going to the Dr to talk about dizziness while driving, having him check me out and tell me 'just don't drive' when he found nothing physically wrong). Its a relief to see things laid out the way I'm experiencing them.

There is a part in this where it says "Plan to Cope". I say to people "I am Ok" because there really isn't anything they can do for me. I am new at this For me this has been happening for about a year. I recently found out about panic attacks about 2 months ago. I am going to Behavioral Health now. I sympathize for the people that have severe panic attacks . Based on my research which has been about 2 weeks on TH-cam Panic attacks, GAD, SAD, and many other disorders can become real sever to where it can affect people in there daily routine. I had to quit my job. I didn't know what was happening to me. Even Earl Campbell running back for the Houston Oilers had panic attacks. Yeah the the running back with 36 inch thighs. The size of my waist. I am very thankful that he shared his story. we are not alone. God please help each and every one of use. Thank you Reneau Peurifoy

YOU ARE A BLESSING. I'm 18, I recently went through something with an irresponsible adult in my life related to drugs that I suffered through a panic attack. It's been a week but just about a day ago, I found myself panicking before bed. This has been a relief and even reading the comments have made me feel better❤❤

Absolutely nailed everything wrong with me been having panic attacks for the first time in my life everyday for the last 4 months straight due to a vertigo event I had, I definitely “what if” a lot today when I felt like I was gonna pass out I was scared that it was definitely coming and I was at work which is my biggest fear, and tons of negative images in my mind of being rushed to the hospital not knowing where I am or even never waking up, now I’m at home watching this video, I definitely need SSRI’s short term, been low dosing Ativan as needed .25mg but even today it was not enough but I refuse to take more than that. This video nails it I need CBT like this guy.

My hands wrinkle as if I have been in a water for a long period of time also I get night attacks were my heart slows right down as if I were dying, thinking I cant move my hands, getting so cold, feeling like im choking and the list goes on,have you heard of these symptoms before? I think its so important to do another video on more symptoms so that sufferers don't feel alone and can feel a bit more understood. The general medical industry has such lack of knowledge and its so hard to find anyone that understands. I know that would be such a great help.. On another note thank you for taking interest in this and for taking time to help others with this condition also for your reply. smiles

When my diet is bad / I stop going to the gym / and sleep isn't good anxiety sneaks back in so initially my first time I had to use medication and I was free for 3 years but now that my lifestyle has been bad due to a new job anxiety is back in my life.. I'm using St. John's wort this time instead of medication because I gained over 100lbs on meds and it gave me horrible permanent brain fog. So I'm trying natural for now + diet and exercise / sleep. Glad to hear you ok now. God bless you

Armando, Take some practical action.

Thank you sir for two great videos of yours. Can I ask you a question.
My panic attacks started when I was 15. Now I am 40, and I have big problems with eating and drinking - specially drinking. I live healthy and exercise, but the anxiety is getting worse and worse. If I do exercise in the morning I can eat ok until six in the afternoon, but drinking is difficult all day and specially in the evening. Not possible late.
My body is total over stressed in every way. I have been fighting without medication for years, but I guess I need a break. I am usually very dehydrated, and I can't drink water, only yoghurt or smoothies.
Five times in my life I have been to hospital for water intravenous. These times I could not swollow my own spit.
Do you have any medication to recommend? Thanks.

3 times a day doing deep breathing exercises / meditation do not try to avoid thoughts but focus on breathing as they will fade* this helps to shrink the amygdala in your brain (which reduces anxie as the size decreases)

My firm belief is that since the powers that be pushed women into the workforce, instead of working at home for themselves, and if they are married to support their husband's occupation from home, that women have taken on both roles and therefore are too stressed. Thus, if this was corrected and the family was put back together, children would be less stressed, women would be less stressed (only having one roll instead of two), and men would be less stressed because their wife would be helping them advance in their career, not to mention that when women and men work around each other in mass droves they are with the opposite sex more often than their spouses and that gives way to infidelity which results in more stress. I think the answer is simple, put the family back together and see that the next generation has largely alleviated panic attacks. God bless!

The "distraction" part is interesting because a lot of psychiatrists will tell you that you shouldn't distract yourself and face the fear, otherwise your subsconscious preceives it as a safety measure and you end up convincing yourself that the only reason you survived is because you distracted yourself.

    • @FoundationChristianChurch
      @FoundationChristianChurch 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

The key is to first tell yourself the truth about what is occurring (facing the fear) then move your attention to something neutral or positive (distraction). This helps you to not dwell on the fear.

    • @FoundationChristianChurch
      @FoundationChristianChurch 5 ปีที่แล้ว

This is different from simply "running" from or trying to "ignore" what is occurring.

except genetics , stress ,temperament more sensitive to stress or prone to negative
emotions , certain changes in the way parts the brain function also people
who constantly live on negative thoughts , anger , computer & sex adicts
may also become one day victim of this bloody disorder , what do you think ?

Hi sir.. i need your help.. last week i watch your video because im seeking of what are the posibily happened to me because i dont want to go to a psychiatrist because it very freaking scared. until i watch your 2 videos from panic attact.. 2 months ago i feel stranges i feel the symtoms of panic attact but i felt a lots of acid in my stomach a heartburn and turns to fear strange fear.. 3 weeks ago i go a doctor and they said im having a acid peptic disease. I took the medicine OMEPRAZOLE and i have my relief until i watch this video. 5 days ago i went to a psychiatrist because you said it helps gor a long term relief. she asked me whats happening to me and i express myself what happened to me.. she gave me a medine SERTRALINE and she told me theres are side effects.. like too much acid to my stomach.. now im taking a SERTRALINE for 5 days and OMEPRAZOLE since they gave me.. after i taking a sertraline. I felt i bloated and heartburn and my strange fear came back but not as the same as i never took a medicine.. my questions Mr. Reneau Peurifoy are why it happens again? Is the sertraline triggers my anxiety? And i have a headache since then. why it happens sir?

First, it sounds like you might have a medical condition such as acid reflux. I always advised clients to get checked out by a physician to rule out any medical conditions. Second, do not tell your doctor that you are experiencing high anxiety as there is often the tendency to just write of symptoms to the anxiety and not look too closely at what you’re experiencing. This is often more the case with women, but can also happen with men. Just report your physical symptoms without saying how anxious or concerned you are. On another note, seeing a psychologist, marriage family therapist or social worker who specializes in anxiety problems might also be helpful. Be sure to ask about their training and experience with anxiety problems when you first call. If they do not have any training or extensive experience, find someone else.

The bad part is panic attacks seem to be inventive because I get a new symptom every time and then I think "This is it. Now I'm going to die" Had one last night and kept me awake until 4am.This time I was getting tightness in my back too not just chest. So, I thought it was a heart attack.

Amazing. But 1 question. I get this weird feeling through my whole body. It's as if there is something in my veins. I cant explain it. But it happens when I am fast asleep. It wakes me up and then all hell breaks loose. It's a feeling I can't explain. It's like tingling in my veins.Almost like when your leg is dead but rather then feeling just before it's dead. But its deep inside and my whole body.

I have that in my legs. You might want to look into a B-12 deficiency. It causes anxiety and restless leg syndrome. Also, make sure you are getting enough potassium. Also, when you have a panic attack your body takes blood from the extremities. This can make them feel numb/tingly. Good Luck

( ---- if necessary coupled with medication, and have at least a xanax ready for use as a backup, this has to be prescribed and its essential to learn how the dose acts on you beforehand so there are no surprises out in everyday life. medication will take a few days to take hold and function and you have to learn how to use which dose - this must be done together with an experienced doctor who would prescribe.

I don't agree with all of this video. For I have experienced anxiety for more than 30 years and everything said here I know very well, yet still have anxiety and agoraphobia. I know the answer to the what if’s, know nothing will happen, but still experience anxiety and still hate it every time.
So why does the fear continue?
'You have already experienced the worst panic attack you have ever had?' That’s not true. There are different levels and when I thought I had had the worst, there were worse ones! Simply not right there. Sad to say, but there can be a further rung below.
The example of fire fighters is not at all the same thing. I have known soldiers to say that they would rather fight the enemy than have a panic attack.
    Distraction is avoidance
actually and not dealing with anxiety.
I am someone with a wealth of experience and qualified and well read. Sorry, but this is still too simplified.

He isn't a psychologist anyway. But for someone who is supposed to specialise as a therapist in anxiety, what about complex trauma? What about all the masses of people who know that they won't pass out and yet their subconscious still alerts them and they still fear? The symptoms play a big role and no intellectual thinking will make a difference, you can't argue with it when a panic attack happens. This man hasn't never got caught up in the trick anxiety plays, he has no clue what it is like.

      lola m
You are correct. To include everything possible would take too long for a brief overview such as this. The current definition of a panic attack is: A panic attack is a discrete period of intense fear or discomfort emerging from either a calm or anxious state, in which four (or more) of the following symptoms developed abruptly and reached a peak within
      minutes:
      - Palpitations, pounding heart, or accelerated heart rate
      - Sweating
      - Trembling or shaking
      - Sensations of shortness of breath or smothering
      - Feeling of choking
      - Chest pain or discomfort
      - Nausea or abdominal distress
      - Feeling dizzy, unsteady, lightheaded, or faint
      - Derealization (feelings of unreality) or depersonalization (being detached from oneself)
      - Fear of losing control or going crazy
      - Fear of dying
      - Paresthesias (numbness or tingling sensations)
      - Chills or heat sensationsHowever, because many things can become intertwined with Panic Disorder, a specific individual may experience additional symptoms. For example a person with Colitis will find symptoms of that condition becoming associated with his or her anxiety. I limited my discussion to keep the presentation to a reasonable length. In addition, the whole point of the video is that by over focusing on symptoms, you miss the message that the symptoms are bringing.
