Congratulations on your newborn bub. Hopefully this video helps you know what to expect for newborn sleep and makes this stage a little easier. Let me know if you have any questions.

My 5 week old has never slept for more than 10-12 hours a day. I'm in the UK and the NHS says newborns can sleep anywhere from 8 hours.. constantly hearing people say newborns sleep from 17 hours made me feel like I was doing something wrong it would be nice if more people acknowledged that some babies don't sleep that much.

It is very overwhelming the initial 6 weeks especially with the sleep deprivation. It is nice to know my little one is sleeping like a new born and it will get better. I can highly recommend the witching hour video and advice regarding tools to help baby sleep as I don’t think I would of made it through the first 6wks.
Great advice that works. I can’t wait for the next video 👍

So my baby slept an average of 10 hours a day for the first 3 months of his life. He would be fed and burped and dry. But would just not sleep. There was one day where he was wide awake at 8 wreks with not one nap from 7am until 2am the next day. He did not take any cat naps or anything. He also did not show any tired cues. Why would that have been?
He was diagnosed with colic at like week 3 but everything I have ready says yeah they sleep for 20 hours a day but mine did literally half that.

Thank you Emma. My newborn loves to sleep in the morning for longer periods but at night will clauster feed throughout making it difficult for me to have enough rest at night. How do I deal with that ?

Are they supposed to sleep in the same room as the parents or do you put them in their own room(with baby monitor)

My 7 week old takes 1 or max 2 naps a day which are 30 mins each or hour. Night time he takes 2 hour nap first then 2 one hour naps and after he is sleeping on breast and wakes up when put down. Any advice please.

My baby is 10 weeks I put her to sleep at 7pm and after the 12am feed she’s up every hour. Why is this?

@@neete2593 well she ended up having a dairy sensitivity as I was breastfeeding her. She’s still breastfeeding now it took her until she was a year old to tolerate the dairy in my breast milk (I gave up dairy for her first year of life). I’m still breastfeeding through the night she’s almost 2 but it’s dwindled down to a few times a night and she sleeps with me so it’s more of a quick nursing session for comfort. She likes to know I am still there for her.
