    This is great reference! I’m in the process of trying to do a manual swap on my 86 Accord LXi. Do you know if the differentials are the same between the auto and manual and if one is stronger than the other?

      I'm not 100% sure but I would lean more on that they are not the same.

    I keep tossing throwout bearings! The main shaft that the bearing rides on has some obvious damage and I’m wondering if that damage is having an effect on the bearings performance. It’s just some tool marks on the shaft. It’s not out of rotation or balance. Last time I had the trans out, I polished the shaft so that it was baby soft but two years later, the bearing is chattering again. So with that said, are those main shafts a pain in the ass to swap and can they be purchased new or rebuilt/re-grind?? I’m a 3geez guy from 2006. Respect from ATL ✊🏽👊🏽

      I can't see how the bearing is getting damaged unless it's not secured in the bellhousing by that plate or its not sitting on the mainshaft correctly due to it being damaged. Swapping out the mainshaft is easy, just swap all the gears, synchros, and bearings from the damaged one to the new one. As far as finding just a replacement mainshaft you'll have better luck just finding another A20 trans from or a 1st gen Integra trans since it uses the same mainshaft.

    Also, what specific transmissions from b series motors will have the diff that will fit correctly? Were there transmissions on the B16A2 motors that would work?

    • @aziangarage
      @aziangarage  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      90-91 cable B series small spline transmissions, commonly found in DA Integra's.

    Which set of speed factory bolts work? There's multiple options for different engines

      I used the D series ones.

    Question: With the MFactory differential, do the stock drive shafts work? Or did you have to buy special drive shafts?

    • @aziangarage
      @aziangarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      If the differential is for the earlier small spline pre 1992 B series transmissions then the Accord axles/driveshafts should work.

      @@aziangarage Does this list look right to your knowledge? This is what they say the MFactory (MF-TRS-05B16) This is the one you listed in your link.

      1990-2001 Integra LS
      1994-1997 B16 Del Sol DOHC VTEC

      @@Sagina1999 If that is what MFactory has listed then that's it. I would contact them to make sure what axles will work with that differential.

      @@aziangarage Ha ha! It's too late now. It's going to be at the shop shortly. If it doesn't work, I'll know soon! I'll let you know!
      Then I can blame it on you, as it's the part number you listed! Ha ha! I'm stoked to have the engine rebuilt! A competent old machine shop man did the engine build, so I hope it doesn't blow up! Ha ha! Look for my autocross videos this season. Thanks for doing all the stuff on the 3rd gen. Accords!
      BTW, my understanding is it's the two fancier ones that require special shafts.

    What model is this transmission called? Trying to do a manual swap on my 89 accord what do i search for on ebay etc for the transmission?

    • @aziangarage
      @aziangarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The rebuild kit link in the description should work. Most transmission parts are interchangeable around those years across various Honda models.
