Armando Anthony "Chick" Corea (June 12, 1941 - February 9, 2021) was an American jazz composer, keyboardist, bandleader, and occasional percussionist. His compositions "Spain", "500 Miles High", "La Fiesta", "Armando's Rhumba" and "Windows" are widely considered jazz standards. As a member of Miles Davis's band in the late 1960s, he participated in the birth of #jazzfusion. In the 1970s he formed Return to Forever. Along with McCoy Tyner, Herbie Hancock, and Keith Jarrett, Corea is considered one of the foremost jazz pianists of the post-John Coltrane era.
Corea continued to collaborate frequently while exploring different musical styles throughout the 1980s and 1990s. He won 25 Grammy Awards and was nominated over 60 times.

Of all the superb ensembles Chick led over his long career, this was one of my favorites. I wish he had the chance to record more volumes of new music with them.

19:47 The humbleness of a genius who says "I can't remember everything" when he actually was right as Chick takes a 8 choruses solo over this jazz chords structure then Charles plays the melody(as the original recording). That's a real leader right there, takes responsibility for every aspect of the whole and encourage the rest of the team. Little details show everything! Love this man!

You're missing in your description "Luisito Quintero" on percussion. He's one of the greatest percussionists of latin music that has existed!

charles dear idol (I notice you I am 80 years old and a good part of guitar-jazz) I admire your technique and ideas tremendously, but can you give us a pleasure to know how to interpret with those unforeseen ideas and well placed on the fretboard with some themes Modern bipbob something that I imagine how big you would do. Well with a quartet Charles with additional flute or tenor saxophone, give us the pleasure, can it be?
Altura is amazing, how is he getting that tone tho? anyone know what pedals he use? amp...?
From what I've seen, he uses a proco rat, ibanez tube screamer, tc electronics reverb and delay
Unfortunately, that legato tone and level of fluidity mostly comes from his superb technique :(
When he plays with chik he doesn´t use an amp cause Chik hates guitar amps on stage. He goes thru his digital pedal board straight to the mix, and uses the stage monitors as the amp... it sucks but he manages to sound well. I talked to him in LA, and he told me that, and I saw it on their gig.
