It seems to me that you could build a page that is basically a library of different kinds of cards. And then have that open to the side and then drag/copy the one you want over to your actual page. Actually, if it doesn't come with this library, that's kind of cheapy.
You can certainly do that. In fact, it comes with content where you can just copy the contents of the vault that it comes in to your vault after you add the CSS file.
Kind of, but IMHO I think Canvas is generally much more fluid and flexible than making a mind map inside of a note. MarkMind is really great at what it does, but you can get really creative with the extra tools Canvas Candy gives you and create diagrams that go far beyond the mind mapping capabilities of Markmind.

Absolutely bonkers that a css snippet for Obsidian is paid.
It’s not the CSS that’s valuable, it’s the functionality it adds IMHO. I think it’s similar to a paid website template or Wordpress plugin 🤷🏻♂️
