Your dress turned out so beautiful. Really enjoy the videos you make. Very detailed and professional. Not sure if you ever have, but I would enjoy a video talking about your sewing background. I can tell you've been sewing for a while, but it would be interesting to know more about how you learned to sew.
Thank you! I am so happy you find my videos helpful. I am always learning and trying to improve. I will add your idea about a background video to my list of possible videos. Thanks!
I love your videos. Can you please share some patterns for beginners that are for chiffon or other slippery fabric. If you could do a video, that would be amazing
Thank you! I have a few that are great for georgettes or satins. I will list the pattern numbers so you can take a look. I haven't done much with chiffon since I quit making dance costumes! I will have to look for appropriate patterns. Until then, here are some potential videos that I have up that are medium to easy sewing level and good for soft drapey fabrics: Butterick 6757, McCalls 8042, McCalls7325, Vogue 1886, Vogue 9255, Simplicity 8124, Simplicity 9012, Vogue 1691
I love this pattern but need a higher neckline due to surgery scars. I’m afraid tightening the elastic too much will raise the bottom of the bodice and make it uncomfortable under the arm. Do you think I could adjust the pattern by increasing at the top of the pattern piece? Thinking I would also need to increase the length of underarm seam. Also, I loved how you used electric to make the waist casing. Would that work at the neckline and sleeves as well (I plan on using on cotton fabric)?
The neckline could be raised along the top edge of all bodice pieces before cutting and the elastic adjusted. This would be the easier way to get the higher neckline and prevent the need for an armhole adjustment. The pattern shows how to do casings in all the elastic areas. It is a great flexible pattern! Let me know if you decide to sew it up.
