That is definitely a possibility-- the official website says that he came to the maw of his own will, so there's definitely some story behind the Impossible Man that we don't know yet. Good theory!
Arcanestatic WAIT! I HAVE A THEORY! The mystery/hung man, is definantly your father! The Geisa/mother, gave birth to your character Six, a 9-year old girl, then your father hung himself because you were too beautiful, so your right about him hanging himself. But when you were born, the Janitor took you off her whilst you were sleeping then gave you to the ferryman so when you escaped, you went back to the Maw, you found your father, hung, and thought it was your mother, so you come back to get revenge. So when you kill her, you get your soul taking power, so when her mother had the power, she put 3 innocent souls (3 of the babies the janitor takes care of) who are adults, so that's how she controls all the characters who try to capture you because she knows you escaped from the ferryman. So yeah, the souls in her 'puppets' are the souls from the Japenese dolls of the Geisa. I'm just trying... :P

think its strange how much in common six has with Caroline? Six but 4 other little kids. Who left the tiny ladders? and the little sheet rope out side the prison window? There are other drawings of six. There is a Dark six when you eat; you can see it if you look around the living room of the Ladies quarters. All that black... paint? in the one bedroom.
I am actually writing the script for the next video in this series right now, and you make an excellent point about the dark six image. I will look into what that implies. As for the ladders and the sheet rope, I am inclined to believe that the Maw's rebel class of kids have a sort of system they are using to try to get out, and that Six is definitely not the first one to have used those venues of escape. Maybe we will get more about that in the comic? Because the DLC is kind of implied to take place during Six's imprisonment in the cage, I think. There's still wild speculation as to what Six's name means. I might try to talk about that in its own video, but my current theory is that Six is just what we, the audience, call her. We don't know her name, or indeed anyone's actual name.

I love this comic, and this universe. It's so dark and twisted. Also, I hear that there is an upcoming TV series which will feature the same director of Coraline and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Also, I have a theory: These children are in Limbo. If you don't know what Limbo is, it is basically a Hell for children. This is the place where all bad kids go, where their souls are damned to this horrifying, dark and twisted world. In the comics, even outside the Maw it's not normal. The Guests are everywhere, adults hate children and a powerful monster known as the North Wind hunts down children and uses their corpses for it's collection. He could represent or be the devil. Also, why else is every monster in this universe so nightmarish and grotesque? Why are children treated like prisoners and then made to be eaten? This is not a place for children. Also, Six looked really surprised when she was in this place. She doesn't belong here, she belongs elsewhere. In the comic, she started in the city, and she didn't know what was going on. Suddenly, all the Guests look at her and point at her, not eat her, just point at her like being a child is a crime. Then a monster known as the Ferryman takes her to the Maw. In the Maw, all the children who have escaped their cells told Six to try and remember her life before, as none of them could, because then you forget who you are and lose hope of escape. This could mean the time where she was alive. She doesn't know she's in Limbo. Her determination is what keeps her going by trying to survive this dark and grotesque world overrun by monsters.

Something I think you may have missed is the possibility that the ferryman is actually at war with other dark forces. In the comic, the being known as "the north wind" says that the ferryman is his adversary. Also something I would like to mention is perhaps the ferryman is feeding Six her powers and her hunger. If you look at the comic it's obvious that the ferryman has the ability to shapeshift. Also, he goes by another name, referenced twice as "the shadows". The reason I think he may be the one giving Six her powers is because whenever you eat from extreme hunger, there is that version of shadow Six there, so that may be the ferry man who has shapeshifted to watch
I believe the hunger in six's story is symbolic and not to be taken literally, as in she doesn't eat what she eats but it is a mirage and states she is so hungry she may eat anything
I always assumed that the children's caste is closely linked to timelines and the new intake of passengers= *The nursery floor isn't too busy currently and most of the cell rooms appear empty- so the current population the nursery floor can take isn't even close to full. *Later we see that the chef's meat room has a huge mountain of bodies we fall on and yet the chefs aren't actively cooking the way you would expect them to do if they were trying to fill the plates of the guests upstairs. It's mostly making bone broths and similar, which is what you do in a kitchen when you have nothing to do and are prepping for the next rush. *We see entire walls of cages like those that hold the kids- all empty and packed into empty rooms as storage, like an animal shelter's pet crates. *Plus the Janitor's duties are those of maintenance work when we run into him, fixing toys, clearing libraries etc. So timeline-wise that means the nursery rooms are emptied because there was just a massive cull and the surviving kids are the runaways or unsuitable/thin/sickly ones. The chefs cured and stacked the meats early in preparation for the guest's arrival and will likely feed this intake of passengers off of this 'crop' of kids while the maw waits to take in a fresh batch. (also the wrapped bodies are a lot taller than you- so that means the remaining runaway kids could have seen the older ones be carted off and decided to make a break for it)

In the depths. When you play as the runaway kid u have to follow a girl who isn't six and maybe in the third game/Dlc/chapter you play that girl.. (I know my English isn't that good) but it makes senses doesn't it?
Maybe the janitor takes you because he doesn't want anyone to kill you that he is secretly trying to help some of the kids escape and the girl that you see in THE DLC gets captured by him because either the chefs or the lady is there

I find it weird how some of the children there wears a raincoat like Six's. And when they see Six they are suprised saying stuffs like "You!" "You dont belong here", Yeah maybe six is the daughter of the Lady. And the Lady told the Chef, The Janitor or etc to Not kill her daughter; Six. Other children maybe heard about it so they tried to dress up like six to prevent being killed, Not long after the Janitor, the Chefs found out that Some kids dress up like Six, so now they try to kill Six not knowing that she's the real one.
Well actually that last boss lady at the end is sixes mum her name is maw and the boat is called the maw and six but maw was jealous of sixes beauty and castes her away that is why that little picture is there because six is maws child
My theory is that the kids are the passengers kids so while they eat maybe the kids go into the basement in the daycare and if there infants then they sleep when the passengers leave they leave the kids there that way they have a continuing food supply

The Girl in the Yellow Raincoat (not Six) was actually the daughter of the Lady and she had been working in the Maw (like in the concept art where she's scrubbing a guest)? This would explain why those other kids with raincoats claimed she didn't belong with them. BUT something happens which caused The Girl in the Yellow Raincoat to escape The Maw using the hot air balloon and end up in the Nest, where she encounters Six. Now, when we see The Girl in Yellow Raincoat fall with The Pretender, we assume that she has died and that Six took the yellow raincoat and somewhere in between she arrives at the city (like in the comic) and that's where she was caught and brought back to The Maw. Now that she's at The Maw, maybe she has been sent to the place where she was sleeping in the suitcase either because The Lady discovered she's not the original Girl in the Yellow Raincoat or The Lady did not discover but instead chose this as "The Girl in the Yellow Raincoat's" punishment for running away from The Maw. Since Six's face could not be seen clearly because of the raincoat, that maybe why the other kids in raincoats assumed she lost her memories (or they didn't know what she actually looked like). Also, if we look at the picture of the Girl beside The Lady in the pictures, the Girl had long layered hair. If we look closely at the Girl falling at the end of Very Little Nightmares, the Girl had long braided hair and side bangs reaching her chin, which is the same length as the Girl in the pictures.
I have a theory so the crib kids are just regular kids but the caged ones the janitor is punishing them maybe they escaped and ate loads of things and became the boss of the maw and now isint so the janitor could be a good guy

What if the kids get more gross and weird with age? You start off normal, but tiny, but get more weird as you grow? We have not seen a normal adult aside from the lady.. we know she is actually ugly under the mask. Anyways, back to the first idea.Yeah, sure, they live in harsh conditions, but they still have beds and toys.. something I doubt you would give something you want to eat. Toys = attachment/ toys=development of skills. What if the caged kids are just naughty/disobedient children that do not meet expectations?
Urgh, everyone is saying "Bread kid = Runaway Kid" I have my own theory, thanks to a different youtuber, (Some spoilers.) First, if the runaway kid was bread boy, then Runaways campaign would start after Six, but as we can see, the room with the security eye, there's no one there, making people think "Hey, this is before Six's Campaign" oh but you'd be wrong, it's at the same time, making why Six and Runaway meet at the end... and Six eating him, as he turned into a nome, but, first, I must say Runaway could have been the bread boy, if he rushed, but that'd be really realllly impossible, and the DLC would start with runaway being the bread boy, second, bread boy is bigger than Six, and Runaway is as tall as Six.

Urgh, everyone is saying "Bread kid = Runaway Kid" I have my own theory, thanks to a different youtuber,
(Some spoilers.)
First, if the runaway kid was bread boy, then Runaways campaign would start after Six, but as we can see, the room with the security eye, there's no one there, making people think "Hey, this is before Six's Campaign" oh but you'd be wrong, it's at the same time, making why Six and Runaway meet at the end... and Six eating him, as he turned into a nome, but, first, I must say Runaway could have been the bread boy, if he rushed, but that'd be really realllly impossible, and the DLC would start with runaway being the bread boy, second, bread boy is bigger than Six, and Runaway is as tall as Six.
