Man I’ve been dealing with this for MONTHS in my 911 I’ve gone through EVERY fuse with any sort of fuel description and I never thought that fuse would have anything todo with it. Thank you !!
BEYOND HELPFUL!!!! Thank you SO much!! I Borrowed that fuse because I was like” I don’t have a telephone in here” and thought The filler vent valve went out ( I bought and have not put in yet and now have as a spare,Lol).
I have 2001 Boxster and it has so many electrical problems it is mind boggling. I have had fuel back up as you explained in this video but only occasionally. Sometimes my fuel lid will not open (solenoid sticks) but usually it does open (the solenoid works). I am at the mercy of the Boxster's "feel" on any given day. Mechanically the car is sound though. Except the IMS bearing could give out on any given day, as we all know.
Mine has no “click”, the fuse is good… did all 2000 996’s come equipped with that valve? Also, how does the metal flap in the filler tube activate the valve? There are no wires any where near that, just wires for the locking fuel access door. Thanks!!!! Great video!
Check the fuse fuse is good. My problem is every time I try to feel up the car. The pump keeps cutting off, so I have to keep pressing the lever to fill up the car which could be the fix for this if the fuse is good.
This is an awesome video. Thanks for putting this out there. I decided to check it out on my 97 986 but I wasn’t able to get the click sound to happen. Check the fuse and it was good. Tried with key turned just incase. Nothing either. Looked under the driver seat. Not loose connector or anything of that sense. Any thoughts or suggestions?
I just replaced the vent solenoid with a new one but still no click sound and can’t fill gas continuously. E6 fuse is good. Is there any other way to fix it?
I have a 04 Carrera and the fuel is back flowing I hear the click when I push the flapper on the filler neck I'm guessing the unit is bad is it difficult to change out
Hallo, i am an German Guy and have a 2000 2.7 US-Boxster.I have the same Problem but my Fuse E6 is ok... Where i can see these "defekt" Part...? I dont see any Wires..?? Thanks for Help!!
So I just replaced the valve with the two hoses that is bolted directly to the filler neck. This is when this all started. I see the ground wire on there as well, is that somehow electrically related to this? I don’t understand how the silver fuel filler door is electrically connected to anything…I don’t see any other wires
Problem solved! When I replaced the valve attached at the fuel filler opening, I didn’t notice the magnetic sensor that fell out of the old one. I took everything apart, and discovered the valve has a holder for the sensor molded in the plastic, so that the sensor sits directly above the flap in the pipe.
I have the same problem everytime I try to put a fuse in it blows. I removed the seat so I could tape up telephone info system wire. Is the wire on the PAS module? Does anyone knows what this wire looks like?
just had this happen to me. i mistakenly took it for a faulty gauge sender... so in the tank i go... before cracking her open i though meh, long as im in there lets toss in a now pump ( 900 in so far- did the work myself ) - i get in there and find a bone dry tank...w t f !... changed everything out... tried to fill and sure enough! puked it right back out... heres the thing though. i assumed some shithead shoved some napkins or something in there so my son and i ran a wire down while it was open to se... nope went right through.... havent watched your whole vid yet so i hope you gotta cure because this is brutal to deal with...... (< a few moments later> ) checked fuse.... NOPE! its fine....what else ya got?!

@@superb60ce Hi, is there anywhere an Electric Sensor what i can Check? I find one in the top of the Tank...is this"plopp" noise at all boxsters and what makes these "plopp"? Thanks for Help!!! Greetings Gerald

Sorry to hear that
Yes!!!!!!!! Thank you!!!! Thank you!!!! Thank you!!!!!!! Did I say thank you?????!!! Fixed my problem and it was driving me crazy!!!!!!!!
Glad it helped!
I’ve got this exact issue. Going to check my fuse now, thanks
No problem
If you notice in the fuse diagram it also says "ORVR" next to fuse E6. That stands for "onboard refueling vapor recovery". Cheers.
Good catch

I don't know...magic maybe...there is a vent valve attached to the fill tube, never HAD to replace one, it was always just a fuse
Thanks a million. Saved me a lot of money.
You are welcome

replace the vent valve solenoid

Doouble check every fuse
Good info!!!!!!!
Thanks, glad it helped!
Hi, thanks for the advice. However, my fuse looks good. What else could the problem be if my fuse is bad? Please advise. This is misery.
Could be the vent valve itself
The vent valve is not electric, so what does the fuse control?
It is electric
When it doesnt klick and the Fuse is OK...whats the Error?? Please Help!!!
Replace the fuel vent valve
I changed my fuse with a new one but I still don’t hear the click sound. What should I do next?
Check all your fuses. Possibly replace the vent solenoid

Unit could be bad, or there is a blockage in the vent line. Not too difficult to change

Replace the fuel vent valve
Where is the vent solenoid that clicks? Is that the one on the engine under the intake?
It is in the fuel filler
So I just replaced the valve with the two hoses that is bolted directly to the filler neck. This is when this all started. I see the ground wire on there as well, is that somehow electrically related to this? I don’t understand how the silver fuel filler door is electrically connected to anything…I don’t see any other wires

@@mjfeeney775 Awesome, glad you solved it
@@mjfeeney775where did you find the wire? Mine has none… thanks!
Hello, in my case the fuse is ok but no clicking sound when I open the filler opening. What could be wrong?
It is possible that the vent solenoid is bad
Do you know if this is the same setup as the 987?
Got an 05 Boxster S that just started doing this while refilling.
Not sure on the 987...
That’s what my car is doing and the fuse is fine.
It is possible that the vent solenoid is bad
video on that ?

I have the same problem everytime I try to put a fuse in it blows. I removed the seat so I could tape up telephone info system wire. Is the wire on the PAS module? Does anyone knows what this wire looks like?
It is a two wire connector under the right hand (US Passenger) seat that is taped to the main seat wiring harness
Is the connector under the driver or passenger seat for US cars?
Passenger
From my understanding Porsche’s do not allow you to fill the car with the engine running, it’s a safety thing
I can assure you, they will take fuel while running

To put fuel in, air has to come out. Check the vent system.
