I got a 5 speed one of these as a daily driver but it is decent fun. I have a faster car that I take out on the weekends but I keep finding myself watching these videos. If you rev it really high you can hang with some rice cars here and there but straight line races are not its strength for sure
@@Connor312_ I know I'm late but you won't get any power out of this asthmatic engine. You need either a Turbski or a Supercharger, but unless you want to blow up the engine you need a better block, rods, cylinders and a better fuel system.

I know these little cars aren't fast but with right suspension and tires I bet there a hoot in the corners. If ya wanted it fast I would do a 4cyl Honda swap or turbo eclipse motor. That's one thing I don't like about my 2012 impala it's fast in a straight line but doesn't handle very well. It's got very numb steering and the chassis is easily upset by hard cornering and braking
just rented a stock 2022 one. It's really peppy around corners and below 40. I could easily see it being an amazing car to take on back roads with upgraded suspension and tires.
@@silversonic99 I got H&R springs and 195/45 R16 tires, feels way less spongy. I don't need it to be fast, I just want it to drive like a car and not like a wheelbarrow
SuperGIJIN Mirage doesn’t have a turbo lol. It’s a 1.2, 3 cylinder NA. It definitely needs one, at its current weight about 140 horsepower would make that car decently fun.

Keep it in stock. Engineers and professionals build the car. Putting some mods like that are just noise and didnt make any difference (white smoke coming out from the muffler is a bad sign for the car). Continous Maintenance is the key for the longer and better mirage.

Most legit rally cars have many 10's of thousands of dollars in parts and possibly a full engine swap, before they're ready for a race, and that's at the low end. A lot of professional rally cars are working with 500-700 hp, a figure you'd never see out of this engine under any circumstances.

Nice lol. Love my mirage. It's not quick but a few minor, cheap mods have made it a fantastic daily.
