Condemtion only comes from God! The devil would never try to make you fell Condemtion because Condemtion makes you feel remorse and want to make you change. He rather make you feel comfortable in your sin so that you may die in it. If we love Jesus we must pick our cross daily and live like his children. Wants we accept Jesus ask for forgiveness and live the way he asks us the Holy ghost will be able to come in our bodies and change us and help us walk in the spirit and not the flesh and that is what is acceptable by the grace of Jesus and what he allows as our perfection! Perfection in the spirit of Jesus read your Bible daily pray to him worship him accept him and he will show you the truth

Thank God there is not one Christian on the entire planet that is unrighteous. We are all the righteousness of Christ.
Unlike those under the old covenant, God had mercy only on people who change their performance. Christians today will never lose mercy, no matter how stupid we may behave. There’s nothing we can say or do as Christians that would ever prevent us from being abundantly pardoned. And for that, we can absolutely say THANK You JESUS!

@@ChurchinnameofJESUSCHRIST very interesting that your channel name is 'light unto the people ministry', yet, instead of having civil discussion, you're running around referring to people who you might disagree with as liars. Isn't this how the atheist behave? There is indeed a time to call someone out. But that time is when someone is blatantly, intentionally misbehaving, or saying something that they know not to true.
The proper response would be to have a discussion about it, and not just hurl fiery darts at anyone who doesn't hold your exact view. Your response yields no love, no kindness, no forgiveness, and no grace. I'm not sure how you see that is shining a light unto anymore.

There’s a scripture that says don’t be drunk with wine but be filled with the spirit.
      Many people misunderstand it.
The point is people heavily drink to escape pain, sadness, depression, or some void in their life.
The author is teaching us to learn to let the spirit fill those needs.
My advice, if you’re struggling with alcohol, work to let Jesus fill whatever is causing your pain.

It should be the goal of every Christian to “sin no more,” although we recognize that, while we are in the flesh, we will still stumble (1 John 1:8). God’s desire for each of us is to be holy as He is holy (1 Peter 1:16). We still sin, but sin is no longer a lifestyle choice (1 John 3:9-10). When we fail, we can come to God and ask forgiveness (1 John 1:9; 1 Peter 4:1-2). And if we are truly God’s children, He will correct us, disciplining us when we need it (Hebrews 12:6-11). His work is to conform us to the image of His Son (Romans 8:29).
1 John 1:8-10 - If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness. If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.

Obviously I have sinned after following Jesus. I felt bad about it and when I felt bad I was like “well I have already sinned, might as well do it again and restart tomorrow.” And it usually lead down a path of sin after sin, repeating itself instead of being removed from me. I know that the idea of “if I willfully sin after I have been saved means there is no salvation anymore” was something Satan was using to try and make me turn against the Lord. Obviously the scripture writes “There is no sacrifice for willful sins committed after the knowledge of such sins.” But I now take that as “there is no salvation for those who justify their sin with the sacrifice of Jesus”. I will continue to pray on it and search for the truth. Sadly I cannot believe everything and everyone these days. Many inward wolves. My understanding needs to be between me and God ONLY!

    • @jesuswithoutreligion
      @jesuswithoutreligion  2 ปีที่แล้ว

I have to be honest you totally contradicted yourself.
You started by announcing that you “felt bad” when you sinned. This would be the expected response from someone who has a new heart with new desires and the spirit of God living in them.
But then you flipped everything upside down say because she felt bad you decided why not just keep sinning more and start again tomorrow. And then it just led down a path of sin after sin.
I don’t even almost see that as someone who felt bad. You described someone who had absolutely no remorse. You describe someone who does not have Jesus living in them. You described a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Yes, the scriptures do say “There is no sacrifice for willful sins committed after the knowledge of such sins.” But you have completely interpreted this incorrectly. The sin being described here is the scent of rejecting Jesus. Unbelief. Jesus is the only acceptable sacrifice for sins. So it only makes sense when the writer says if you reject Jesus, the holy living sacrifice, there are no other sacrifices. Unbelief.
So who are the inward wolves? Well, I’d say they are guys who said they felt bad about sin and their response was just to go ahead and do a lot more of it. I’d say they are guys that say Hebrews is about losing salvation for outward sin, and then it has nothing to do with rejecting Jesus. You talk about fraud. You’re literally condoning denying Jesus Christ as the reason somebody would not be saved, and instead, you’re focusing on the very problem he solved on the cross. Sin and death.
You are correct, your understanding does need to be between you and God only. Sadly, it would appear if you were to die today you would not enter the kingdom. You seem to have a very big focus on humans being the solution when you’re missing that it’s Jesus.

Thank you so much. That makes perfect sense. If we would be without hope no one would be in Heaven because there is not one person on earth who has been saved that didn’t ever sin again. We should be perfect in our deeds and thoughts but we will miss the mark at times. Also, if we went to Heaven based on works Jesus sacrifice would mean nothing. His blood covers our sin. Again this does not mean we should sin and sin does bring destruction in many ways and ruins our witness and relationships as well.

This is the only thing that makes sense to me because if its inevitable that we all sin how could anyone be saved from hell by Jesus? Like what was the point of Jesus dying on the cross for your sins if we all inevitably sin and we don't just magically stop sinning after we get saved? Its got to mean this. Never deny your faith in Christ and you're good in my mind. I mean don't get saved and not change for the better at all.. but the whole one little slip up and your going to hell thing has to be a joke. This verse trips up many believers. I have to say, the very fact that believers are concerned about verses like this one and Heb 6:4 should be evident that you are His. Simply because those that aren't do not seek answers and take the easy road by brushing hard verses aside. They are like seed that falls on stony ground and they throw up their hands and deny the truth. We should always let the Word guide us and not let our life experience be the measuring rod for truth and try to make the Word conform to our lives. The Word of God should be transforming our lives not the other way around. Repent from unbelief. If we only knew the power we have been given (and that includes me) the world in which we live would be a different place.

Thank you for the comment! I want to point out a couple of things.
1-this is an old covenant passage.
2-“my people” only refers to the Jewish people. As a gentile, none of us were his people.
Under the old covenant, forgiveness of sins was conditional upon performance. The new covenant is not the old one. The new says that all of the believers sins have been forgiven. Even for those foolish believers, who do not humble themselves, and do not turn from their bad choices.
For Christians, you won’t find a single verse where God says if you do XYZ I will then forgive your sins. The scripture always speaks about forgiveness and past tense. Our sins have been forgiven. Done. Over.

    • @jesuswithoutreligion
      @jesuswithoutreligion  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

The only way you will be presented as blameless is through faith in Jesus. Yes, we should turn from our sins, but let's not foolishly think that this is what makes us blameless in the end. Do you know who would have agreed with this? The apostle Paul. He wrote a letter to the Corinthians, who were actively involved in orgies, drunkenness, abusing the Lord's Supper, and much more. It's clear that these people were not focused on repentance at that time, but they knew Jesus. While Paul rightfully addresses their poor decisions, he ensures not to confuse their performance with their salvation. He begins the letter by telling them they are Saints by calling. He tells them they lack no gift and that they will be presented as blameless in the end, even while they are actively rolling in their sins.
Sure, we want other humans to see us as blameless, and the best way we can do that is by avoiding sins. But there's only one way you will be presented as blameless in the end, and avoiding outward sin is not going to help. The only way to be presented as blameless before God is through faith in Jesus.

This passage is in Hebrews. This book of Hebrews was written to Jews who were staying with the old animal sacrifice and priests daily offering the blood of bulls and goats.
Paul(?) Was letting them know that the old method of sacrifices by priests was no longer effective and had been replaced by the New, which was Jesus and a one time sacrifice for sin.
Realize, ALL and any sin is condemnation, not just "willful sin."
Even unintentional sin has condemnation the same as even big sins.
God will not let sin slide just because it was not willful.

I imagine you realize you pretty much quoted everything I said in the video, so we’re on the same page, with the possible exception of your last comment ‘God will not let sin slide just because it was not willful’
If you are a believer, God will let sin slide regardless of willful, or not, and regardless of a big sin or a little one, and regardless of repeating it, or only doing it once. That is in no way to suggest that we should live ungodly lives. We should not. But Jesus has taken the sin of the believer away, once for all. He remembers it no more. And we will 100% be presented as blameless on judgment day.. If someone sees this as a license to sin that they don’t understand the gospel. In fact, this total forgiveness is the greatest reason ever not to sin.

So, it seems there's a balance here. We must strive for holiness, get the sin out of our life, love God so much that we serve our neighbors, but if we fall to sin once in a while and immediately repent we will not lose our salvation?

    • @jesuswithoutreligion
      @jesuswithoutreligion  ปีที่แล้ว

I do not believe there is a balance to this. Here’s why.
The word 'holy' means ‘set aside’.
In the Scriptures, we see two types of meanings for holy. One regarding behavior, and the other regarding spiritual identity. The two are not in anyway connected.
YES, we certainly should be holy in our behavior. We should set aside our actions to show the world Jesus. So, yes, lets avoid outward sin, and exude good works. This is something ongoing that we continually work on.
However, when talking about our spiritual holiness, you cannot get any holier. This is not progressive. It requires zero human effort. Christians are as Holy as they will ever be. Heaven ready. God has already set us aside for Him. The only role we had was being receivers through faith. Your performance at absolutely nothing to do with God's willingness to make you, Holy sanctified, justified in his name.
So to that extent, there is no balance, because the two are not connected.
Now, with this idea of losing salvation. I respect opposing views, but I’m very firm that this teaching is a cult teaching. There is no real scriptural evidence for losing salvation. That is a lie from lips of Satan and cult churches who twist the Scriptures to put Christians in fear in bondage and have them doubt the work Jesus performed on the cross.
What you wrote literally says if we do not immediately repent from our sin, we will lose salvation. That directly denies what Jesus did about our sin. He died for them. He took them away. He poured out his blood as the only acceptable sacrifice. And what you’re suggesting is that Jesus forgives us for our sin……unless we sin.

So I heard someone say that you can’t believe without confessing with your mouth, but I mean what about mute people? Also with that what if someone truly trusts in Jesus for their salvation but never confesses with their mouth he is Lord?

In context, confession with our mouth simply means agreeing with God. Your point about mute was great. There are MANY scriptures telling us we are saved by faith, by hearing and believing, and no mention of verbal words. Sometimes we need to look at multiple scriptures to get the context and trust. As for people who teach this silly doctrine, I would not give them much time. They clearly don't believe that trusting and loving Jesus is enough, so they toss in a sort of works-based theology, and usually, they follow up with many more works.

      @jesuswithoutreligion  ปีที่แล้ว +1

If you are looking after the mosiac law as a means of doing right, stop. All that does is produce in you more love for sin. Instead, trust Jesus.
Paul struggled with coveting. He said the law made him struggle worse. He then said the secret to overcoming is was to be APART from the law.
[Romans 7:8] But sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of covetousness. For apart from the law, sin lies dead. 8 But sin used this command to arouse all kinds of covetous desires within me! If there were no law, sin would not have that power.

    • @jesuswithoutreligion
      @jesuswithoutreligion  ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@StarWarsMasters this is where I think it gets a little tricky for some people, because if we don't listen, carefully, we could easily think we are teaching something that we are not.
So first, let me begin by saying no Christians should lie, cheat, steel, commit, adultery, etc. But your goal is not to get up every day and focus on a list of "THOU SHALT NOT". Instead, the goal is to focus on Jesus.
Many think they can actually keep certain parts of the law. But the reality is they cannot. Jesus exposed how perfect and holy the law is. Look with loves? You are completely guilty of adultery. Angry with a brother? Guilty of murder. And perhaps somebody isn't that very small percentage of people who have never looked with lust. If possible, James teaches us that if they kept the entire law perfectly, but stumbled at even one point, they have become guilty of it ALL - James 2:9-10.
You see the law does not grade on a curve. You don't get a 99%. You either get a 0%, eternal, death, or 100%, eternal life. The Scriptures teach us that no one will be found righteous through the law - Rom 3:20. 2 Cor 3:9 tells us that the law is a ministry of condemnation and death! So why would anyone want to chase after a law that only brings condemnation and death?
So now I feel comfortable answering your question. Which part of the law still applies? In the answer is none of it.
Jesus is the end of the law for all who believe. Rom 10:4
You are not under law, but under grace. Rom 6:14
You see, this idea that being under the law somehow makes us a better person is a deception from the evil one. The Scriptures tell us that the law came in so sin would increase. It turns out, when you're trying to chase after a system for pleasing God, you're gonna end up failing every time. Adam and Eve fell for the same line. They were allowed to eat freely from the tree of life, which is a picture of Jesus.. But they wanted to be awake, knowing good and evil, so they broke the only rule they had. They were not supposed to eat from the tree of "knowledge of good and evil." Think about the name of that tree for a moment. This knowledge of good and evil is the same thing we're trying to get from the law.. We think the law gives us the knowledge of right and wrong, and it will make us perform better, and please God. But when Adam and Eve ate from the tree, immediately spiritually died. Christians are doing the same thing when they're eating from the tree of the law. Immediately condemned.
So instead of chasing after a system, let's do what God wanted from Adam and Eve, in the very beginning. He was always enough for them. He's all we need today. And strangely enough, when we chase after him, instead of a system of rules, he will not lead us to sin.
But what do we do when we sin? God doesn't want you to feel dirty and distant. He doesn't want you to feel unworthy.. He has already taken that sin away on the cross. He remembers it no more. So what do we do then? The answer simple. Stop the sin. Be thankful that he's already made you. Holy in perfect, and you will be presented blameless on judgment day. Always remember he is enough.
Side Note: in America, it is against the law to murder people. But the law doesn't prevent evil people from doing that. Literally thousands of people are murdered every day in the law is the last thing they're thinking about. The reason someone like you and I would not steal from someone it isn't because were afraid we will go to jail. We don't do it because we know what's wrong. Human law is not fair to prevent murder. Our law exists to offer up the punishment when somebody does it. In the same way, the mosaic law does not exist so humans won't lie, cheat, and commit adultery. All it does is offer a punishment. This is why you need to be completely free from the law and under grace. If you're under the law, you're thinking that you have the ability to be righteous apart from Christ. And the result will be eternal punishment. It is only when we realize that that wall is so perfect and so holy that we need a savior to rescue us from it.. The Scriptures tell us that the law shut every mouth up. It does that because when we realize how perfect it is, we quickly realize how desperate we are for a better covenant founded on better promises.

I’m not sure where you’re getting this idea that anyone said they were sin in heaven, what you’re not getting them here.
When you enter heaven, you will have a new body and will no longer be tempted by the evil one. We will no longer struggle with outward sin.
However, if you're trying to suggest that anyone on earth who still struggles with sin won't enter the kingdom, even if they have received Jesus, that's completely wrong.
As believers, our sins have been taken away, remembered no more, nailed to the cross. Every sin a believer commits has been fully paid for through the blood of Jesus, and no punishment remains. So, when we take our last breath, we can stand before Jesus with confidence, knowing that we will be presented as blameless.
Any other teaching promotes a works-based salvation and is a total deception from the evil one. There's only one way you're going to receive that white robe in the end, and that's by knowing Jesus. If you're trying to earn that white robe by avoiding outward sin, I believe the teaches that you are in real danger, as it suggests you do not truly know Jesus and are trying to receive cleansing of sin through your performance, as opposed to trusting Jesus, through faith.

hebrews 10:26-27 isn't saying you can't go back to God
it is saying if you go back to sin you are dooming yourself back to the path that leads to hell it isn't applying that you can't go back to God
but yes it does make it quite clear that yes we can in fact lose our salvation
most of you believers misunderstand and misinterpret that bible verse smh
Jesus Christ's teachings/gospel makes it quite clear how nobody is once saved always saved and how nobody is saved by belief alone
Jesus Christ Himself made it quite clear that only believing in Him isn't enough to be saved if we was able to remain being a sinner and not have to change
then Jesus is a liar and wasted his time when He taught us about becoming and being born again
or most of you believers are liars with you're false beliefs with you're own doctrines of men and demons
which is it are you going to call Jesus Christ Himself a liar or are you going to call yourself a liar because in that scenario you can't choose both
and obviously it would be blasphemy and foolish stupid even to call God Jesus Christ a liar but most of you believers do be indirectly calling God Jesus Christ a liar though with the false beliefs most of you believers have
and obviously Jesus never lied and Jesus isn't a liar
so there you go and common sense says becoming and being born again requires change you can't be born again without change even the definition of the words born again in the dictionary proves that
so yeah most of you believers do be indirectly calling Jesus Christ Himself a liar with the false beliefs most of you believers have

Many have asked why didn't Jesus just say what he meant. I believe he did.
The bigger point is God did not word it the way others are teaching. What’s wrong is how people interpret the verse. We need to look at it in line with the dozens and dozens of verses that teach us Jesus took our sins away. Saved by faith. Apart from the law. A free gift.
We have to really see the context to keep from being misled by bad teachers.
The context is sinning after ‘receiving the truth’.
What is this truth we receive?
The truth we received is that Jesus died on a cross to TOOK OUR SINS AWAY. He remembers them no more. He was resurrected to give us a new imperishable life. He put his spirit in us. We are justified. Blameless. Holy. Sanctified.
Safe and secure, apart from works, apart from law.
The 2nd part of the verse tells us if we kept this sin up there would no longer be a ‘SACRIFICE” to pay for sin.
The blood of animals was thought to cleanse sin. Outward sin. Turns out, that never really took away sins. It was always faith.
So, the context is truth. The truth is Jesus died for our sins and took them away. If we reject Jesus (continue the inward sin of unbelief) then we reject the only sacrifice for all sin.
The context is the truth is that Jesus dealt with our OUTWARD sin, but we only receive forgiveness of outward sin through faith. We must willingly choose Jesus. If we reject Him, we commit the only unforgivable sin. The of unbelief. That is the sin that people ‘keep on committing’ after receiving the truth.
    I hope that helped

Hey Brother, I'm sorry to bother you on Sunday, but I could really use some words of wisdom concerning my family. I'm trying to remain Hopeful and praying that things will look better, but it just seems I'm really in the thick of it.
Basically the run down of the situation is, my family is hurting, but none of them are willing to be vulnerable with each other and because of that we're all hostile towards each other. Which makes our home feel very unsafe. My parents fight about literally everything and it's not like once a week we're talking like everyday or every other day. And I feel so powerless. You see my Dad was never really involved and was always concerned about providing, but failed to be a fatherly example, so because of that my sister and I as well as the rest of my siblings have struggled to find ourselves and my mother basically had to take care of everything.
I suffer from self esteem issues, because my father never really compliments me on anything and always scolds me about things I did wrong. And he treats all of my family like this. Which probably why I have self esteem issues about my Faith and now constant anxiety attacks. As for my sister she's getting into stuff that most teenagers are into like smoking stuff and it really makes me sad. I have no idea what to do because…
My Father only sees the world through his lens and is against anyone who sees differently. Because he's insecure about himself and doesn't want to face the problem within himself, he attacks others personally as a way to defend himself. And he doesn't care what he says, as long as it hurts you as a person to get you to back off.
My Mother has a hard time letting go and often feels powerless over certain situations and tries her best to control it. But that often makes the situation worse and leads her to become clingy over the person.
What they both fail at is trying to understand and relate to another person's struggle. My Mother is concerned about fixing the other person and getting them back on the righteous track.
While my Father is only concerned about spreading fear onto the other person, by inflicting punishment to discourage wrong behavior.
Both of them are not seeing the person as Jesus would see them and neither of them seem like they wanna change how they handle the situation. So, it only makes things worse.
It's like my Father has this view of God, where if you don't follow His commandments exactly, He will punish you. Basically the exact opposite of what you were telling me in my earlier messages. That God is not holding your Sins against you. My Father disagrees and isn't exactly happy that I think otherwise. He just has this corrupt view of God and the thing is he is misleading others to think the same. Which creates this version of God that no one's gonna wanna have a relationship with. And you're not allowed to tell him otherwise, but he's allowed to tell you how you should believe. I'm sure he would probably disagree with most if not all of your videos about how God sees us.
But I'm not here to talk about my father, I'm here to talk about my sister who's struggling with finding happiness and purpose and to do so she's getting involved with some bad stuff. I tried reaching out to her in love the way Jesus would and relating to her the best I could and I'm not really sure if it made a difference. My father threatened me that if it didn't work he would punish her, and I think that will only make the situation worse and push her further.
I just don't know what to do brother. I feel like my Father isn't supporting me to reach out to my sister the way God would and he disagrees with the thought of Grace leading to repentance and that punishment is what all those who fail to follow God deserves. But yet for some reason he's an exception even though he's imperfect just like the rest of us. I don't mean to rant on my father, but he's become a real big issue that is hindering God's work in our family, but he isn't interested in changing how he thinks, but this ends up affecting everyone else in a negative way and driving people away from the true character of who God is.
I just don't know to do brother, I feel like the weight of my family is on my shoulders and all I have to rely on is God's strength🙏

If I may begin by saying, you’re never bothering me. I generally enjoy talking with followers of Jesus.

      Praying for you, for sure.
I think for a starting point it’s important to understand that we simply must give up our right to have people agree with us. And we also need to understand that God is not going to force them to do that either.
Meaning, that sometimes we need to remember we really cannot do much about our circumstances and other people's affections and attitudes. This means we need to keep our focus on ourselves and Jesus.
I used to get so frustrated because there are so many people who don’t see the grace message, which oddly seems to be right there in front of us if we just open our hearts. I learned that it is not my problem to change their mind., their hearts, or attitudes. I plant a seed, and then leave it with God to water it.
No doubt low self-esteem and anxiety run rampant in America. It’s often times because we’re trying to get our self-worth from how others view us. We’re also looking to those people to fulfill us.
Let me encourage you (and your sister) to get your self-worth from how your heavenly Father views you. He’s crazy about you. He sees all kinds of value and beauty in you. He would never tear you down.
      So what should you do?
Just exude the love of Christ. Honor your parents. Keep your eyes on Jesus. Pray. And then put all of these concerns on the shoulders of Jesus. Let Him do the heavy lifting. I can tell you that my father was always very tough on me. Way tougher than he should've been. Even in my adult years he's a bit disrespectful for sure. I just respect him and give up my right for him not to offend me. There are times I just want to yell at them. But no good will come out of it.
God can work on your sister even when your father seems to be in the way. God is much bigger and no human can hinder His work. Let me encourage you to relax and just trust that Jesus is intimately involved and hears your heart.
[Philippians 4:6-8] Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and pleading with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
I know this may not be what you were looking to hear. Your dad may never change. But then again he might. Your sister might make some bad choices for a month, year, or even longer. But believe me when I say this brother, Jesus is right there in the middle of it all. He’s gently guiding them. He’s counseling them. This is where we just throw our hands up and say “I give it all to you God”. And then we just have faith and trust that He is good. Avoid timelines for a response that you can see with your own eyes. And while he’s working, just show love and kindness.
      Praying for you brother

@@Red-Renegade-Studios My walk with God is amazing. Of course, if we’re all honest, we acknowledge that sometimes even the best of us feel like we’re on an emotional roller coaster and our walk has its highs and lows.
We all stumble in many ways. But it’s my faith in him that always gets me back in the right direction.
I’ve always found that my walk is best when life is throwing curveballs at me. It’s then that I make a decision to lean on Him and trust Him.
It seems like the better things are, the more we start to drift away. There’s something about everything going right that distracts us from remembering our need for Jesus.
While I do not want bad times, I’m able to be thankful for them because they serve as a constant reminder that I’ve got a pretty good partner on my side. He is taking me through family problems, marital problems, health problems, financial difficulties, etc. Life will always throw pain and suffering at us.
I love what the apostle Paul said. He talked about having a little and having a lot. Being very hungry, or being well fed. He then goes on to say that he’s learned the secret to contentment is not about your circumstances. He can be content when he’s hungry, homeless, and when everything seems to be falling apart. That teaching my sound ominous and maybe even a little impressive coming from the pulpit on Sunday morning as the leader pushes this message, but there’s one place you’re not going to find such teaching. In the scripture.
What Charles has just presented says Jesus’s death on the cross was to take away your sin, unless you sin openly.
Anyone who has ever read the letter to the Corinthians knows that this was a group that was doing all kinds of prideful open sin. And there’s not one threatening verse to where we see the teaching from Charles.
Yes, sin is bad. Let’s agree and let’s turn from it. But let’s not join these people who want to water down the work of Jesus.
Sin = The Problem (from man-Adam)
Blood = the Solution (From Jesus)
[Romans 5:15-16] But the gracious gift is not like the offense. For if by the offense of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many. 16 The gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned; for on the one hand the judgment arose from one offense, resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand the gracious gift arose from many offenses, resulting in justification.

@@charleshughes1141 No real Christian ‘supports’ gay pride or ‘curses the church’ and all the other stuff you listed.
You are conflating two important matters. You are conflating forgiveness of sin with condoning sin. God forgave our sins, but He never once condoned them. Why would you?
We are not saved by avoiding homosexuality. God's blood is just as sufficient for their sin as it is for the guy who struggles with looking with lust, alcohol, etc. We ALL have the same problem and we all need the same solution. Jesus. Let's not put sins in buckets and pick and chose which ones we washed by the blood of Jesus.
Again, I point you to the letter to the Corinthians. Should we start listing all the disgusting since they were guilty of?
      • Orgies
      • Lust
      • Drunkenness
      • Abuse of the Lord's supper
      • Gluttony
By today's stands, if we saw that in a local church we would says they were all hell bound. And we'd be wrong. We would have to commit intellectual suicide to read that letter and not see that they are children of God, at no point do we see their disgusting behavior being applauded.
Now, I have noticed that sometimes people like to go all the way to the edge with this. Just like you did with this suggestion of raping kids. That seems to be more of a desperate attempt to make your case than it was having a Christian debate on how big God's grace is. Christians can be guilty of all kinds of sin, but I find it highly improbable that someone with the Spirit of God living in them is going to move toward that evil act. But if they did, the blood is still much bigger than the sin. And again, it would be highly unlikely we see Christians murdering and raping people. It's one thing to sin against your own body, and another to commit violent crimes against another.
Now to touch on your final line. You seem to suggest that if God’s grace is so big then why not go on enjoying sin while you can. This is literally beginning to sound like something the apostle Paul wrote about.
It turns out when you’re sharing the true gospel of grace people will accuse you of condoning sin and poor behavior. Which is really what you’re doing right now. Unfortunately, the goodness of God is offensive to the religious ego. They question how could God’s grace be that big, and they imply that anyone who thinks God’s grace is unlimited to his children must be pushing a theology that supports sin....i.e. gay pride.
Paul says the following in Romans 6:2:
“What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase?”
And you see, this question would only come up when you’re sharing the real gospel. A legalist would never have to answer this question because a legalist isn’t going to allow you to enjoy God’s grace and certainly doubt the blood of Jesus is enough.
So apparently, the apostle Paul’s message is so offensive that he needs to defend it. So he’s asking a question, am I saying that because the grace is so big that we should just go on sinning?
And that is literally what you just said to me……
And I’m going to give you the same answer that Paul gave.
[Romans 6:2] Far from it! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?
Again, this question only comes up when the message is so mind-blowing that God’s forgiveness is so deep and so vast. But the apostle Paul makes it very clear, all things are lawful, and all things are permissible. Quite frankly Charles, the children of God are completely free in Christ to behave in whatever manner they choose. The question is not should I just go on sinning more. The question is what do you really want? Do you really believe more will fulfill you? Because that’s what you imply when you said if you’re forgiven why not just go do more of it. As the scripture say, don’t use your freedom to indulge the flesh.
You are free. What will you do with that freedom? You have a new heart with new desires. You can stupidly please the flesh or you can live out your new identity in Jesus. Whatever choice you make, I hope you will not use it to diminish the work of Jesus. Your sin is not bigger than His blood.
As it turns out the law causes sin to increase, and it is grace that leads us to repentance. So, if you want to avoid sin, you need to learn to be a receiver of grace. And that doesn’t in any way mean that you condone stuff like ‘gay pride’. It simply means that you trust Jesus.
I hope that gives you a different perspective and something you will consider. God bless you brother.

@@charleshughes1141 I think we are now closer to being on the same page.
I would point out something regarding “depart from me”.
That’s one of those verses that many people have wildly misunderstood. Nowhere in that letter do we see these are Christians.
What we actually see is this is a group of people who are pounding their chest thinking how awesome THEY are. They’re bragging before God saying look at all the great stuff WE did for you.
Anyone who is truly a believer would not stand before God showing off. Instead of bragging about themselves, they would be bragging about what Jesus did for them.
So when Jesus tells them they were practicing sin he is not talking about outward sin. He is specifically referring to the sin of unbelief. How do I know this? He literally says that there was NEVER a time that he knew them. It’s not like they were Christians at one point and then started misbehaving. This is a KNOWING problem. Jesus NEVER KNEW them.
I think it is incorrect teaching when we say there HAS to be a change in behavior to be saved. Yes, there SHOULD be. Absolutely! But God is not going to hold our forgiveness hostage until we get it right. That is not the gospel. Remember, it is a gift, so that no one can boast. And the moment we say our forgiveness is contention upon our behavior, it is no longer a gift but what is due to us. And honestly that is deeply twisting the truth of the Gospel. We are literally making salvation about human effort when we do that. I will say it loudly and clearly, there is not 1 ounce of good behavior that can save us. And the same thing that saves us is the same thing that keeps us saved. The gospel doesn't get worse after salvation.
So let’s talk about what that looks like with gay pride. As I’ve already acknowledged that is not something I would condone and I’m very certain neither does God. However, if these people have placed their faith in Jesus, then walking around with rainbows and arrogantly pounding their chest over their sins is not going to undo the blood of Christ. Deep down, if these people are Christians the Spirit will reveal to them that this is not the heart of God. But, be that as it is, we should be very careful not to insult the spirit of grace by implying that their sin is too big or too great to be covered under the blood of Jesus shed. Nowhere in scripture do we read that it excluded any type of sin, no matter how big or how frequent. Again, I refer you to the letter to the Corinthians.
In 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 we see the apostle Paul talking about people who will not inherit the kingdom. And then he list off all kinds of sins. One of those of course being homosexuality. But it’s funny how we seem to look past all the other sins he listed, because that laundry list is enough to point the finger in all of our faces and shut all of our mouths. And indeed Paul is writing Christians. But if we pay close attention we realize this is not a threat. What the apostle Paul is teaching them is that they really should reconsider how they are living because, BEFORE they got saved, that long list of sins would result in eternal punishment. And his point is why would you continue in them knowing what they resulted in before your salvation? And the apostle Paul wants to be very careful they don’t walk away with the wrong understanding. He’s not threatening their salvation. They are in Christ and their sins have been taken away. And this is why the very next line from Paul says the following:
But that’s what you WERE (past tense), but you HAVE BEEN sanctified, you HAVE BEEN washed, you HAVE BEEN justified in the name of Christ.
So what we’re learning is that pre-salvation your identity and security was based on your behavior. But as Christians, that’s what you were, past tense. So, even though people sometimes make really stupid decisions, their identity is not in what they do (sin) but rather who they are in (Christ). If you are a Christian, and make the ad choice to participate in gay pride, or whatever, you’re still sanctified, washed, and justified in the name of Christ. And we should not take that away from them. If God is comfortable with keeping them in his arms despite their poor choices, then who are we to say differently?
Take Away: A Christian participating in gay pride or me telling a lie, but are sin, both are deserving of the same punishment. Yet, as Christians, the blood of Jesus equally takes those sins away. No favoritism. So if any of us are going to boast, let it be in Jesus.
[Galatians 2:21] “I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly.”

1 John 3:4-10 Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. You know that he appeared to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous. Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.

Sure. I would be happy to do that
[1 Chronicles 28:9 ] “As for you, my son Solomon, know the God of your father, and serve Him wholeheartedly and with a willing mind; for the Lord searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will let you find Him; but if you forsake Him, He will REJECT YOU forever.
With this verse, I think it’s first important to note that these are people who are the law. This is not people under the new covenant whose signs have been taken away. And as such we see the message that if you mess up God will ‘REJECT YOU forever’.
Under the new, it’s the complete opposite. God says ‘I will NEVER leave you nor forsake you’ - Hebrews 13:5
Under the new, it’s the complete opposite. God says ‘If we are unfaithful, he REMAINS faithful’- 2 Timothy 2:13
Ezekiel 18:20 ‘The person who sins will DIE. A son will not suffer the punishment for the father’s guilt, nor will a father suffer the punishment for the son’s guilt; the righteousness of the righteous will be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked will be upon himself.
Once again, this is referencing an old covenant arrangement. This is like under the law. But Christians are not under the law. We are free from the law. Christ is the end of the law for all who believe. Under the law, if you sin, the wages of sin is death. And you will die. As Christians, there still remains a wage for sin. And Jesus paid that wage. He died for our sins, and no punishment remains. God tells us our sins have been removed as far as the west is from the east. We have ‘eternal’ life. Eternal means without an end. So if our life can never end, we don’t need to be concerned about an old testament passage that only applied to Jewish people who were under the law. We are under a better covenant found it on better hopes and promises - Hebrews 8:6
[Ezekiel 3:20-21] Again, when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and commits sin, and I place an obstacle before him, he will DIE; since you have not warned him, he shall die in his sin, and his righteous deeds which he has done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will require from your hand. 21 However, if you have warned the righteous person that the righteous is not to sin, and he does not sin, he shall certainly live because he took warning; and you have saved yourself.”
You could basically use the same answer I just gave. And of course, I will acknowledge it says if you do not send you will live. But we later learned is that ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God - Romans 3:23. We later learned that through the law no one will be found righteous - Romans 3:20.
[2Peter 2:20-22] For if, after THEY have escaped the defilements of the world by the KNOWLEDGE of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. 21 For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn away from the holy commandment handed on to them. 22 It has happened to them according to the true proverb, “A dog returns to its own vomit,” and, “A sow, after washing, returns to wallowing in the mire.”
Who are they? They are Jewish people. Jewish people who are under the law. None of which would be found righteous under that covenant.
What defilements have escaped, and what was this knowledge?
They were to file by their sin. The knowledge they received that would have rescued them was Jesus is the way to the father. That he died on the cross to rescue them from their sins. Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. So they heard the truth. They tasted the truth. But what actually happened in the end is they rejected it. They rejected Jesus and they went back to the temple for law-based forgiveness. They rejected Jesus, which is the only sacrifice for sin, and if they reject Jesus there is no longer a sacrifice that remains. Animal blood is not going to cut it.
They would have been better off never hearing the gospel, than hearing about Jesus and rejecting Him. That’s why Peter says it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness. Because they heard the truth, the last day has become worse for them than the first.

Reading in context is key not cherry picking scripture.
Satan wants us to put trust in ourselves and our filthy rags
Jesus said it is finished and His blood paid for ALL our sins. He died was buried and rose on the third day
He is our Lord and Saviour. If we could pay for any of our sins Jesus would have died needlessly. I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain
We are saved by grace through faith, not of ourselves. It is a gift of God not of works least anyone boast.
We unfortunately in these fleshly bodies will still sin until we get our glorified bodies at the rapture. Our Spirit, Christ in us can never sin
We walk led by the Holy Spirit, and any good we do is Christ working in and through us. He is the vine we are the branches. We can do nothing without Him
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
    Thankyou Jesus!

You are right, the sin of unbelief not only applies to Jews, but all of humanity. We never said differently. :)
I’m not sure how you can say I’m 'reading into the text’ after I gave a very detailed explanation as to how I drew this very obvious conclusion.
I pointed out that in the first 10 chapters of Hebrews the author talks about sin, but the only type of sin he ever references is inward sin. At no point whatsoever is there a single line mentioning outward sin.
So if you’re going to try to offer up a defense, you’ve got to explain and prove how this sin magically becomes outward sin....even though it never comes up. I invite that discussion.
My friend, I would encourage you to take a review of our full verse-by-verse, chapter-by-chapter study of Hebrews. I think you will discover a deeper truth if you’re willing to be open minded and review these lessons. Start here th-cam.com/play/PLhQyjIRTysSTOfcPjCDvyXmnhO1z_o1z1.html
Re: ‘be holy as I am’
You won’t exactly find it spelled out that way. But yu can find it written out something like ‘you shall be Holy, for I am Holy”.
But there is a disconnect with your interpretation of how we become holy. You seem to think that we make ourselves holy for God through our performance. If you can make yourself holy, then why do you need Jesus to die on the cross?
A deeper understanding of the word holy uncovers the true meaning. It means to be set apart.
Absolutely, Christians are called to and should set their behavior apart. That is one biblical form of holy (physically). But that’s not how we get saved. We get saved through faith. And then Jesus makes us holy (spiritually). He set us aside for himself. And you can't get more holy (spiritually) through any type of effort, good works, or avoiding bad behavior.
What you are trying to bring to the table is that if a Christian goes on willfully outward signing, then God will forsake them and send them to hell. You’re saying God will leave them. And that is just lifeless cult religion teaching.
Your message flies in the face of the promises that God has made. He promises that he died for our sins. He took them away. When we are faithless he remains faithful. God said he will never leave us and never forsake us.
My friend, you can choose to believe that the blood of Jesus (the solution) isn’t enough to cover your willful, though stupid, sin (the problem). But if that’s your theology please don’t try to convince me that you truly trust Jesus. Because if your theology is that Jesus only died for the sins up until the moment we received him, and then the gospel got worse afterward (because he would change his mind if we sinned again), I’m not buying it. The gospel doesn't get worse after receiving Jesus. It may sound super religious, but it lacks any biblical truth. And certainly doesn't put any confidence in Jesus.
My friend, if you don’t think you wilfully sin, that makes you a liar and the truth is not in you. You know full well that we all stumble in many ways. That does not make it okay. But denying it is certainly not okay.
So, I will once again reiterate, outward sin IS BAD. Let's avoid it. It's stupid. We are not made for sin. But don't reject the work of Jesus on the cross. How offensive that is to God. The only willful sin that leads to spiritual destruction is the sin of willfully rejecting Jesus. And if you don’t know that, you do not have a solid understanding of the gospel, and potentially don't really know him. I don't know.

The first thing that jumps out to me is that you are confessing your sins as a means of a process for sanctification.
To be clear, if you are a believer, your sanctification and forgiveness are complete. There’s nothing you need to do to activate them. This is not an ongoing process that is activated by your words or your performance.
To be sanctified means to be set apart. The moment you became a believer, God set you apart for himself.
Your ongoing confession of your sins is not contributing to your sanctification. That is not to suggest that confessing your sins is bad. Confessing, or better yet, agreeing with God that sin is bad, is wise.
Unfortunately, I cannot respond to the multiple verses you cited. If you want to talk about one or two at a time, I’m happy to.

I think he’s literally talking about a saved person because the person he’s referring to is the same “he” in verse 29 which has all the hallmarks of a saved person (sanctified, have the Spirit, etc) so this isn’t a unbelieving Jew but rather a believer.
I believe his message is just referring to a physical punishment rather than dealing with salvation because Hebrews already talks about God punishing, judging, and disciplining his children and that it won’t be fun.
The sacrifice part is referring to how animal sacrifices mean nothing anymore in light of Christ and we also learned that animal sacrifices didn’t even deal with sin but rather appeased his wrath so the writer is basically saying, “Animals sacrifices appeased Gods wrath but now that Christ is finished, the animal sacrifices are over meaning if you continue to sin, there’s no more animal sacrifices to save you and you’ll now face his judgement”

I am so quaking that I am not going to go to heaven and that I will spend all eternity in hell as I spend a lifetime ignorantly sinning with lust in and out of pornography. It was dreadful but at the time I thought there was grace to cover this, I would cry in disappointment at myself but never seeing it was hurting me and Jesus. I have only woken to the dire nature of this sin and so much selfishness in my life where God was just slotted in and I took all the nice things but never gave back. My awakeneing has been caused by being struck with the worst depression and insomnia which there is no cure for. My life is wrecked. I had the most mazing career and mind for my job and it is all gone. I lived so arrogantly before God and he has shown me that He is in control and is the life giver. I am in torment

My friend it sounds like you’re getting some really bad teaching. Possibly the worst kind of cult teaching out there.
First, to make sure I don’t send the wrong message, you are right, spending your days digesting, pornography is dreadful. It is a terrible way for a Christian to live his life. How can we who have died to sin continue to live in it? So I want to be clear, you absolutely made very poor decisions and that is not consistent with the way born again Christians should be living. Be that as it is, sometimes even Christians can be deceived by the evil one, and made very bad choices.
Now, that you completely understand, I do not think Christians have any business soaking in sin and pleasing the flesh.
While bad ones, the choices you made are called sin.
What did Jesus do about your sin? *He died for it on the cross.*
The Scriptures tell us that his death was the propitiation for our sins. The word propitiate means to satisfy a deity.
Yes, our sins must be punished and paid for in full.
Jesus was punished in our place. He was hung on the cross and brutally slaughtered in poured out his blood for ALL of the sins of anyone who would believe in him.
You seem to believe that your sin (the problem) is bigger than his blood (the solution). And you’ve got to undo that learning.
You will not find a single verse in all of scripture, where a believer is called evil, wicked, bad, or any negative words. Anyone in Christ is always refer to as a Saint, holy, sanctified, justified, cleansed, forgiven, and so on. How God sees you is not according to your performance and how awesome you are at avoiding watching pornography. God sees you according to rather or not you are in Christ.
Again, I am agreeing that you sinned. Someone say you violated the mosaic law. But you’re not under the law. You are free from the law. Christ is the end of the law for all who believe.
      You said you were quaking.
What are you fearful of? God? It sounds as though you’re pointing the finger at God, and saying that he wrecked your life, took away your career so that he could torment and punish you for your outward sin. But what does the Bible say about that? The Bible tells us this:
*[1 John 4:18] There is NO FEAR in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear expects PUNISHMENT. The person who is afraid has not been made perfect in love*
God is literally telling you that he is not going to punish you for your bad decisions. So you don’t need to fear. That does not mean they are not earthly consequences. For example, if you drink and drive, while you’re totally forgiven, you still might get a DUI, or worse hurt someone. But that’s not punishment from your HEAVENALY Father. The scripture says there’s no condemnation for those in Christ. The scripture says ALL things are permissible (but it also says all things are not beneficial). Meaning, all your sins have been dealt with, and you have the freedom to do whatever you want, but it may not be beneficial in your human life as there are earthly consequences. But you are not going to pay for your bad choices in heaven. In 1 Corinthians 1: 8 Paul says “you will be presented as blameless”. Can I point out that he was writing to a group of questions that were heavily involved in orgies, drunkenness, abusing the Lords supper and more? Yes, he does chastised him for their poor choices, but he makes it very clear to them that this is not a threat from God. They are totally forgiven, even in spite of their very poor choices.
Of course, I would encourage you to avoid pornography and any other sin. But any tournament that you are in is self-inflicted. If you really want to please God stop with all the guilt. Show him that you have faith in what he has promised you through Jesus. Show him that you know you are forgiven. Show him that you believe Jesus took away your sins. Without faith, it is impossible to please God.
You really are trying to please God by avoiding sin. Avoiding sin should just be a byproduct of your new identity. But the only way to please God is by faith. Trust. Your righteousness is not through the law, or avoiding pornography.
*[Gal **2:21**] I do not nullify the grace of God; for if righteousness could be gained through the law, then Christ died for nothing!*
I also want to add, at the moment you became a believer, you were immediately fully forgiven for all sins, past, present, and future. Your forgiveness is not being hijacked until you hit Heaven. It’s here and now. And while outward sin doesn’t really have a place in the Christian life, it does not have the power to cause God to be upset with you in anyway. It is finished. You are a child of God. I promise you, He would love nothing more than for you to get up immediately acknowledge that his Son has made you right with Him. Don’t blame him for the bad spot you’re in. That’s just planet earth. The apostle Paul talks about times when he didn’t have food, he didn’t have money, and when he lacked everything. At no point did he suggest us with some kind of punishment. But I love what he said. He said that through that he learned that in any circumstance, including terrible ones, like he was in, that his Joy was found in Christ. It does sound like your circumstances are bad right now. Don’t try to find your happiness within your circumstance. Find your happiness by believing that God loves you. He’s not surprised by your pornography addiction. He deeply cares for you, and wants you to believe that Christ has completely taking all the punishment for your sins.
You are not the source of you sins. Sin is a real external power that is continuing to find your weakness through the flesh and lying to you to convince you that you will be satisfied with pornography. Yet here you are feeling empty. But where he really deceived, you is when he convinced you that your circumstances God’s punishment. The evil one has you believing that the punishment Jesus took is not enough, and that more punishment must be doled out for your wrongdoing. Don’t let the evil one sell you a lie. God said when you are faithless, I will remain faithful (2 Tim 2:13). God swore He will never leave you, and never forsake you (Heb 13:5). So if you’re going to sin, you’re going to have to do it with Christ in you. He’s not going anywhere. And he’s not punishing you for past sins. Instead, he’s training you for future living. And maybe that’s why he sent you to this channel. So that you could hear the goodness of Jesus. It is only when you understand how deeply you are loved, and how perfectly you have been forgiven, that you will learn to say ‘no’ to sin. It is Grace that leads us to repentance (Rom 2:4). And if you’re focusing on sin which old testament people without Christ were punished, and they violated the law, I would remind you that the law causes sin to increase (rom 5:20).
So, if you really want to overcome your struggles, get up and dust yourself off. Stop believing that God is punishing you for violating the law of ‘thou shall not lust’, and instead dust yourself off, and acknowledge to God, that you are perfect. You are holy. You are justified. Not because you perform well, but because Jesus performed well. Show God with all your heart that you believe what Jesus did for you on that cross was enough. Because until you can do that, you will never overcoming your struggles with outward sin. As long as you think you’re dirty and unclean in the eyes of God, you will live out the identity that you believe you are own. But God has told you how he views you. When you believe that, you are right before God, not because of your performance, but rather because of Jesus, you will learn to renew your mind in overtime. I promise you will overcome many of your struggles.

@@jesuswithoutreligion thank you for taking so much time to write. I hear your rebuke for my sin. I actually went to my pastor last year about my sin but he was way too light on me saying for me not to switch around santification for salvation and I can not remember any strong rebuke. I always kept myself from physical sin with another and I stupidly thought that there was a big difference. I hear you that I should not blame God for my current state and that it is an unfortunate consequence. This sin was the tip of an iceberg and symptomatic of wider selfishness and greed of a life that was never repented. God was never God and I had so many idols before Him. @@TheAllKnighter53-t8o That’s a great question!
Hebrews is probably one of the most wildly misunderstood, and poorly taught letters.
First, consider the audience. They are Jewish people. None of them are gentiles.
Now consider what’s happening with the Jewish group.
They’re all hearing about Jesus, but they’re not having it. Indeed, they are hearing the good news. They’re tasting it. But in the end, they are rejecting Jesus as the son of God, and turning back to Temple sacrifices, and the law for salvation. The writer is not addressing their outward sin. He is only addressing their INWARD sin. The sin of UNBELIEF. That is the contact. That is the problem that needs to be dealt with.
Before I go on, let me prove my point. I challenge you to read the first 10 chapters of Hebrews and show me just one mention of outward sin. You won’t find it. No mention of lying, stealing, adultery, etc. The entire letter is talking about their denying the one true living sacrifice. Jesus. And if you reject the only real sacrifice for sin, there is no other sacrifice that remains, because no other sacrifice is truly acceptable for the payment of sins.
So when we get into chapter 2, you read this line that says “how shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation”. The great salvation being referred to as Jesus on the cross. And you received this salvation through faith. It is not of ourselves less anyone boast. It is not in our works. It is a gift..
      So let’s get the context.
For thousands of years the Jewish people thought the way to inherit in the kingdoms through the LAW. It was an impossible system. In the New Testament, we discover that no one is found righteous to the law. We discover that whoever keeps the entire law perfectly, but stumbles at even one point we’ll be found guilty of it ALL. It’s an impossible system. No one can do it.
But all through their old testament letters they read about the coming of a messiah that would rescue them. And now here he is. Jesus has arrived. But they thought he was going be some type of Warrior. Jesus is not coming to fight. He has a very shocking message. Whoever believes in me shall not perish, but have everlasting life. This message is offensive to the Jews. For thousands of years they’ve been told the way to be righteous is through the law. And now someone comes on the scene, saying that it has nothing to do with performance, but everything to do with Faith? It turns out, the old Jewish system was only a picture of what was to come.
And here’s the context of chapter 2. If you violated the law, you were immediately punished. The wages of sin is death. The law is an all or nothing proposition. You either pass or fail. There’s no middle ground. And we know no one passed. The law came in, so sin would INCREASE. It should show us how helpless we are trying to be made right with God through human effort. When that happens, we realize we need a better way. A better promise. One founded on better hopes. So if the law is so stringent that it immediately kills anyone under it, and it is unalterable, how much worse will it be for the Jewish people if they reject the Son of God who has come to rescue them from that system? The law was brought in by Moses. A mere man. It was ordained by angels. The New covenant was brought in and ordained by Jesus himself. The law used the blood of bulls and goats for the temporary covering of sin. Which was nothing more than a shadow of the real thing. Under the new covenant, the blood of Jesus takes away our sin. For this reason, the Jewish people have these sacrifices year after year. But with Jesus shed his blood, He sat down on the right hand of the father. The point is it worked. It was finished.,
So now we have a better understanding of Hebrews.
*[Hebrews 2:2-3] For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable, and every violation and act of disobedience received a just punishment, 3 how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation?*
Take away. If god punished you, because he violated a bunch of rules, and then he turns around and sends his son to be brutally slaughtered so that his blood we take away your son once for all, and it was a free gift, all you had to do was believe and receive that gift.. If you reject Gods gift (His Son) you're essentially slapping him in the face, and how much worse will it be for you to say no to Jesus, in comparison to when you said no to the law? God loves his Son much more than he does the law. The apostle Paul called the law, a ministry of condemnation and death. He said that because the only thing it does is points fingers at you cause you're guilty.
Of course, God wants us to avoid sin. But that's really not the core of what Christianity is about. We are all spiritually dead, and we need life. A white they can only be received through faith. When we are born again, we are new creations, and all of our sins have been taken away. We're not new creations because we stop watching pornography. Or new creations, because Jesus saved us, he came to live in us. He cleansed us. This cleansing is not changed when we make bad decisions. We're not clean because you try hard. You are clean, because Jesus tried hard. You can believe him. You don't need to live in torment, thinking that Jesus is holding your struggles against you. Is he saddened when you struggle? Of course. But he is not angry. He's not ignoring your prayers. He's not turning his back on you. He will never leave you. He will never forsake you. He calls you his child. His friend. I'll leave you with these verses:
Romans 5:1-2 Therefore, having been justified by FAITH, we have PEACE with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we also have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we celebrate in hope of the glory of God.
Romans 5:9-10 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we SHALL BE saved from the wrath of God through Him. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we SHALL BE saved by His life.
2 Corinthians 5:17-19 Therefore if anyone is in Christ, this person is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, NOT counting their wrongdoings against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
Romans 8:1-3 Therefore there is now NO condemnation at all for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you FREE from the law of sin and of death. For what the Law could NOT do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh
Do you see it? There are many many more versus just like these. The gospel is not a message out. Once you get to see it, you better not mess up or you're in deep trouble with God.. If that were the case, the gospel actually gets worse after you get saved. You get saved by believing. The same thing that saves you the same thing that keeps you safe going forward.
So, as much as it offends the religious ego, your son is no longer a spiritual problem. It is completely dealt with on the cross. Yes, we knew your mind and live out your new identity in Christ. Sin you'll never satisfy. God is not interested in you, obsessing over every day. Instead of obsessing over your physical struggles, let's obsessing over the spiritual solution.. Jesus.
Col 2:13-14 And when you were dead [m]in your wrongdoings and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us ALL OUR WRONGDOINGS, having CANCELLED the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it OUT OF THE WAY, having nailed it to the cross.

My advice is to be open-minded and willing to listen to multiple explanations from various authors. We have tons of videos on this channel and we cover all sorts of verses, parables, and scriptures. Our primary focus is showing people Jesus and unpacking some of the most commonly misunderstood viruses. It has been our willingness to be wrong but has allowed us to understand scriptures more clearly. I don’t take any issue with fasting, and in fact, I concede it has many spiritual benefits, but this idea that your abstaining from food is the secret to avoiding sin is nowhere to be found in the scriptures.
Scripture does not command Christians to fast. God does not require or demand it of Christians. So, if fasting were the way to avoiding sin, I am certain God would have required it of us.
The secret to avoiding sin is walking in the Spirit. It’s renewing your mind and realizing that we’re not made for sin. It realizing that we have new hearts with new desires, and no amount of sin will ever fulfill us.
Now, you have commented 3 times on this post, and each time you have a distorted take away that we are in some way condoning sin. We do NOT encourage a life of sin and ungodliness, BUT, we will not deny what Jesus did about sin.

First of all, I’m not a big fan of Catholicism. And while I do believe that there are some Catholics that are truly saved, I believe overall it is a cult and most people have been wildly deceived.
I’m not sure there’s a lot of weight to the idea that it was fasting that possibly prevented Jesus from being tempted. Can I point out that for 30 years he wasn’t doing a 40 day fast and he was still without sin? To the best of my knowledge, Jesus only did this 40-day fast one time, but Catholics also perform this ritual yearly. Nowhere in the Scriptures are we told to do a 40-day fast, let alone annually.
Lent is an example of a man-made religious tradition that is not something that God has called for us to do. If you try not eating for 40 days you’re going to be extremely sick and possibly die.
Starving yourself is not how you’re going to flush out your Temptations.
What you do find in the Scriptures is that it is Grace that leads to repentance.
What you do find in the Scriptures is that you have a new heart with new desires. This is something that all people before the cross did not enjoy.
What you do find in the Scriptures is that Jesus has put his spirit inside of you and he counsels you, encourages you, and gives you knowledge.

Hello Mike and thank you for your excellent and truthful interpretation of scripture. i will come at this passage from a slightly different angle but basically i think we are on the same page and if i seem to wander off base, please correct me . I believe that this passage is speaking to true believers in Christ but that he was speaking of the total forgiveness that Christ provided for us on the cross but ,if we are still trying to do (confess our sins for forgiveness) instead of resting in his finished work of total forgiveness that was already provided, we are willfully sinning by constantly coming back to the altar of confession and trying to clean ourselves up again by us "doing again" and not believing in what he "did already"for us . and until we do, the only think we look forward to is a certain fearful expectation of judgement believing that we have fallen out of fellowship with our lord and thus the fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries". and then as you were teaching on down the scripture it goes on about the mosaic laws and death to sin. if we are constantly coming back to ask for forgiveness from Christ when the forgiveness has already been provided we are trampling underfoot Christ and counting the blood as insufficient for our complete forgiveness in asense calling God a liar and insulting the Spirit of Grace. I know the "once saved always saved" critics do not want to hear this interpretation because they don't want to believe in the real truth that will set them free but i guess they still love being on the teeter-totter of sin-confess-sin-confess'. i pray that their faith is not in vain and that someday they will see and hear the real truth of the Gospel of Grace. Thanks again Mike and really we really enjoy your Ministry..God Bless"...

Thanks for your comment. We really love hearing from you.
So, in summary, your view seems to be that Hebrews 10:26 is saying, if you are. Christian, your sins are all forgiven, BUT, if you confess your sins and ask Jesus to do what he already did for you, then the deal is off and you’re going to hell.
I say ‘hell’ because notice what the penalty is in verse 27: “a terrifying expectation of judgment and THE FURY OF A FIRE WHICH WILL CONSUME THE ADVERSARIES.”
So, in short, you also have to believe in losing salvation to hold strong to this view.
Respectfully, I don’t see it. While Christians do not need to keep ‘asking’ for what we already have, God is not going to change His mind because we are confused about our security. We were saved by faith in Jesus. We retain it by that. Thank God because there are millions of people that love Jesus, and trust Him, but are confused about some doctrinal issues (like security) because of the poor teachings of men.
Also, the word ‘fallen out of fellowship’ are nowhere to be seen in all of scripture. That’s just more bad teaching of men. Christians never fall out of fellowship with God. What would cause broken fellowship? Sin would. Jesus died for those sins. Now God will NEVER leave us or forsake us. Now, when we are faithless, He REMAINS faithful. Our fellowship is secure because He is good, not because we are.
As for the ‘trampling underfoot Christ’, this is Jews. Jews who heard about salvation by grace. A free gift. Apart from the law. Salvation through the perfect sacrifice. Jesus. Then, for the Jews to reject that message and run back to the temple as the way for forgiveness, well, that’s trampling over Jesus. Keep in mind, this letter is ONLY written to Jews. Keep in mind for 10 chapters there is not even ONE mention of outward sin. It’s only inward sin. The sin of unbelief. Keep in mind, the context is they all heard the gospel. They tasted it. They were enlightened. BUT…..the rejected it.
Lastly, let me drive home that this is about Jews rejecting Jesus and choosing the Mosiac law instead.
We see that in verses 28-29
“Anyone who has ignored the LAW OF MOSES is put to death without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much more severe punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled underfoot the SON OF GOD, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?
So, the writer is plainly telling us, if you Jews were in trouble when you broke the law, a man covenant, how much worse will it be if you reject the Son of God who gave His life for you?

@@jesuswithoutreligion Thank you again Mike , i was making the point that verse 27 might apply to a person who believes that until they get right with God again by their confession until they sin again and start all over with the fear and guilt that is loose baggage .although they are still saved once and for all, they do not have the full assurance that Christ has totally forgiven them and worry that if they don't confess their sin, then verse 27 would apply to their thinking but in reality they truly have eternal life and this verse does not apply to them as they have eternal security although they may not understand that yet for they are confessing sin that has already been forgiven by Christ". the "getting out of fellowship" is another reason why the insecure believer thinks they need to confess short accounts of sin as they believe this is the way to get back into fellowship with God which is false doctrine and a lie from the devil. but in reality we have been saved eternally and our place with God is secured and he will never leave us". (2 Timothy :13. Verse 29 could also apply to once again, coming back to confessing sin that has already been forgiven by Christ and NOT counted the blood of the covenant as sufficient ENOUGH for total forgiveness by which he ( we ) WAS SANCTIFIED" a common thing and insulted the spirit of grace".

      Wyatt,
What I am about to say is not popular in many Christian circles. So, first, let me make clear:
1- I encourage you to avoid sin.
2- We are not made for sin. We are made for good works in Christ.
3- Sin may have a temporary feeling of satisfaction, but it always leaves us empty and feeling unfulfilled.
2- Sin is awful. It destroys us. Run from it.
With that said, your salvation is NOT about whether or not you stop committing sins. Your salvation is based on ONE thing and ONE thing only. And that’s DO YOU BELIEVE IN JESUS?
Do you believe that Jesus died for your sins, and fully paid for them all?
Do you believe Jesus rose from the dead and gave you new life?
Have you called on Him to save you from your sins (acknowledging that YOU CAN’T do it on your own)?
If you answered yes, then, my friend, you are saved eternally.
So, now, with that out of the way, let’s address the sin issue.
If you are struggling with sin it’s partially because you are believing the evil one when he tells you it will make you happier. Try to realize that the desire to sin does NOT originate from your new heart and sinning is not your desire..... it's from the evil one. Your struggle is NOT against your own flesh. It's against the evil one.
You can’t say ‘no’ until you realize the source. YOU are not an evil person trying to good. YOU are a good person trying to avoid sins.
Note: your salvation is secure. Not because you sin less, but because Jesus died. He died for your little sins, big sins, and even the ones you struggle with.
If you were not saved the last thing you’d do is openly post on a Christian blog that you are sinning, and moreover, you certainly would not be worried about heaven and hell if you did not believe.
My friend, I am sure you are safe in His arms. Now, go live out your new identity.
      :)

@@wyattlightsey2716 Read Romans 7:15-25. King James Version (NIV has 64,000 less words than the Authorized KJ)
The apostle Paul is explaining how his flesh sins as well and how upon the moment you first believed- you were sealed in the Holy Spirit of promise. You cannot lose it and when “you” sin- that is your flesh- it is not the reborn Son of God that was cut off and circumcised when you were baptized by the Holy Spirit(not water) upon that first moment you believed and believed you were sealed.
      Ephesians 1:13-14
13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
Sealed means sealed. Also, born is the word God uses- can you be unborn? Can you unknow something? Good news- you can’t go to hell of you tried. You’re part of the Body of Christ- is God sending a part of His body to Hell again? You’re the Bride of Christ... is God going to burn his betrothed? Did Christ suffer the way he did to make it hard for us to live forever?
If God asks me: “What did you do to deserve entrance into heaven?”
I say “Nothing father, you did everything PRAISE YOUR AMZING GRACE HOW SWEET THE SOUND THAT SAVED A WRETCH LIKE ME!! HALLELUJAH!”
The password to heaven is two words.
Is it: “I tried” or is it... “the blood”?
Paul was the greatest Christian whoever lived... check verse 17 and 25 specifically.
15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.
19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.
20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
21 I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me.
22 For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
You can’t go to hell brother. Enjoy your life and know your sins only increase the glory of His Grace... don’t ask Him to help you quit- ask Him to do it for you. “You do it- I can’t.” That’s how I talk to Him and He does it- when I ask Him to help me do it my way, He almost always doesn’t. All glory to Him is how He likes it and He will do it His way. Just know He will never stop loving you- you will never stop being His son. Period.

      It's always okay to disagree.
Were you asking me about a specific verse in John 15?
If I had to give a summary I would say it begins talking about how Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. We discover that we cannot produce fruit on our own. In fact, apart from Jesus (the vine) we’re dead. Spiritually.
It can get a little tricky with this term he uses "remain in me".
In the Scriptures we never see somebody's name being written in the Book of life. What we see is this book of life has every name written in it, and for those who rejects Jesus, their names are blotted out.
Decide to leave falls in line with what Jesus means when he says remain in me. If you reject Jesus as Savior he would be cut off and thrown into the abyss. If you receive him through faith he will remain in him.
I'm happy to discuss why I believe in once saved always saved, if that's where you were headed. And I honestly have no issues with you or anyone who fully disagrees with that theology. That is not something that she disunite children of God.

Our sins seperate us from god and by continuing in them willfully yes we are doomned to hellfire unless we turn it around you need christ his salvation and to overcome and endure until the end you need the holy spirit. You need christ, the holy spirit and if you have christ you have the father. Amen

    • @jesuswithoutreligion
      @jesuswithoutreligion  ปีที่แล้ว

To be clear, no human being has ever overcome sin. To make such a statement would a massive exaggeration of what has happened to us at salvation.
If the power of God by default allowed us to all overcome sin there will be absolutely no reason for even one verse calling us to avoid poor choices. Which we absolutely SHOULD make every reasonable effort to do so.
Indeed, we have overcome the law of sin and death. Our sins have been taken away.
All one needs to do is read the letter to the Corinthians, and we realize Christians are very capable of sin. But here’s something you’re not going to find in that letter. You’re not going to find any reference suggesting they were ‘denying the power of God’. In fact, what we really see is the exact opposite. They were so excited about the 'power of God' that they were abusing the Grace they were lavished with. They knew their sins were paid for. They knew the power of the cross was much greater than any amount of sins they could commit. And they took advantage of the grace of God to please their flesh.
Of course, I am not defending the choices of the Corinthians. What I’m defending is what God has done for his children. Including those that makes stupid decisions.
I’m always shocked when I hear comments like “our sins separate us from God”. Forgive me, if you were referring to unbelievers, but the way it reads suggest that you were referring to believers. If so, my friend, I assume you mean well, but that really is complete nonsense. Our sins have been taken away. Remembered no more. Completely and fully paid for. That gap has been bridged permanently for Christians. So when someone says our sins separate us from God, it rejects the promise that when we were faithless he would remain faithful. It rejects the promise that he would never leave us. It rejects this promise that the blood of Jesus was the propitiation for our sins.
Anyone who solicits doom in hellfire to Christians is a liar, and the truth is not in them. These are the cult of the worst kind. On the outside, it sounds like they trust Jesus, but they're very core. They do not trust. Jesus died on the cross for anyone who will call on him. All of the trust is in human righteousness and human effort. And sadly, it is highly unlikely those people will ever inherit the King, unless very open their eyes and really seek and get to know Jesus.

      Re: Jewish Believers.
I said, for the most part, that the author is writing Jewish UNBELIEVERS. I think that was just a typo on your part. No worries.
I’m also not too sure I want to engage in a conversation whose first response is wildly cocky using words like ‘wimpy’. At the very least, if we’re going to disagree, let’s at least try to show a little bit of Jesus in the discussion.
If you choose to walk away seeing the letter of Hebrews as the teaching of losing salvation, you’re certainly entitled to that view. I did a verse by verse study of the entire letter, and I showed no less than 50 examples that clearly illustrated that the context of this letter is almost entirely addressing unbelieving Jews.
One of the greatest examples I gave was pointing out that in the first 10 chapters you will not find even one reference to outward sin. No lying, cheating, no adultery, no fornicating, nothing. The only type of sin ever mention was inward. The sin of unbelief. I'm not sure why it shocks people that God might have a heart to preach to unbelievers through his letters and save other souls.
In chapter 10 we find again the author has made no mention of outward sin. He starts talking about the taking away of the old covenant through law, and introducing a new one that is pounded through Christ. Then in verse 26 he brings up the word ‘sin’ again.
“For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins”
So if there has been no mention made of outward sin, then what kind of sin is he talking about? We know that it has something to do with receiving the knowledge of the truth. What was his knowledge? Was it not the knowledge of Christ crucified and resurrected to bring in the new promises founded on better hopes.
I think it would be helpful if you considered reviewing our studies beginning with Hebrews chapter 1. Unfortunately, there’s horrifically bad teaching surrounding this letter, and you really do need to work your way from the beginning to understand the context as we have brought it out.
I have to be very honest here. I don't know why it is, but I find the people who are in the crowd of believing in losing salvation tend to be the meanest most hateful people when having discussions about the Scriptures. It's usually not enough for them to have civil discourse, but rather they will demand that you agree with them. I really am happy to have this discussion with you, but I have to be honest, if you start tossing around insulting words like ‘wimpy worst version’ I will just delete and block you from this channel. Let’s show the world Jesus. Let’s show people what it looks like to forgive others who don’t agree necessarily with you. Let’s show people how to be respectful and kind.

Here are two words you won’t find anywhere in the scripture. BACK SLIDDEN
That is a man-made word. In the reason it’s used it’s because they can’t make the case using scripture alone.
Regarding punishment. If God were to punish you, what would cause it? Sin would.
What did Jesus do about our sin. He took it away. He took our punishment on the cross. He remembers it no more.
[1 John 4:18] There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with PUNISHMENT, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
[John 3:18] The one who believes in Him is NOT JUDGED
[ROMANS 8:1] Therefore there is now NO CONDEMNATION at all for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Should we repent from sin? YES, YES, and YES. We are not made for sin.
But if you are avoiding sin because you’re afraid Jesus is going to change his mind and punish you, you are avoiding it for the wrong reason. Christians avoid sin because we’re not made for it. We have new hearts with new desires.
So we both agree we should repent. We’re just both doing it for different reasons. You’re afraid Jesus is going to come and punish you, I’m just living out my new identity. That’s literally like you loving Jesus because you’re afraid of hell, when the reason to love him is because he loves you and what he did for you.

  • @Myjesus-1
    @Myjesus-1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I think the biggest lie in the Christian churches is the teaching that there is no escape from the flesh nature while in the body.
In truth, the flesh has no power over those who have truly been Born Again. The struggle is when people try to conquer their sin by their own power, because they have not received the Holy Spirit:
    Scripture says, Collosians 2:11
"and in Him (Jesus) you were also circumcised with a circumcision performed without hands, in the removal of the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ,"
    Romans 8:9-11 says:
"But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you."
    The Apostle John said:
    1 John 3
"Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness. But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin. No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.
Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister."
The man in this video is publicly contradicting the word of God that was given to the Apostle John.
When Paul spoke about his struggles with sin, he was speaking about his past before he received the Holy Spirit, because he also said:
    1 Corinthians 15:34 :
"Come back to your senses as you ought, and stop sinning; for there are some who are ignorant of God-I say this to your shame."
Paul also said, "Those who are in the flesh cannot please God." Romans 8;1-8
When Jesus said, "The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak." He had not sent the Holy Spirit yet.
    Jesus told the Pharisees,
"You will die in your sins."
For anyone who dies in their flesh, they are guaranteed to end up in Hell.
“For if you live according to the flesh you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.” Romans 8:13.
The man in this video is preaching a different doctrine.
God's grace does not allow us to go on sinning. God's grace changes us. God's grace does not free us to sin. It frees us from sin. Decieved Christians have a false sense of security believing that they can sin until the day they die and still go to heaven, but they don't have faith in the power of the Holy Spirit to free them from the bondage of sin itself.
There is no doubt, countless Christians who have embraced false doctrine have ended up in Hell.
To deny the power of the Holy Spirit to deliver us from sin so that we can live a righteous life is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.
The apostle Paul said, "Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord."Hebrews 12:14
The man in this video has arrogantly corrected the Apostle Paul.
Jesus said, "Go and sin no more." The man in this video has undermined the teachings of Jesus and discouraged others from following his commands.

Hold your horses there. First, to be clear, no one has implied that Christians can't or should not avoid sin. So if that's your implication, you're not getting them from my words but rather they're being self created.
But let's cut to all of this because you've posted way too many verses for me to defend each and every one.
I'm gonna ask you a very simple question and I would like a very direct 'yes' or 'no' and we can go from there. If you just copy 12 chapters out of the Bible and paste it I'm just going to delete it. I might add, without proper context, most of the verses you cited were wildly ignoring critical context as it relates to the new covenant. That's like citing a verse about Moses parting the sea, and telling everyone they can do it too. Context is critical. I want to have an open and honest conversation with you, but I can't do it if I don't get a fair and honest answer to this very basic question.

@@gregtowle8830 Let's put that to the test. Let's say me and my church were participating in orgies. Adultery. And we were all a bunch of drunkards, so much so that many of us were dying from excessive alcohol. Not only that, let's say we were wildly abusing the Lord's supper drinking up all the wine, getting trashed, eating up all the food before the less fortunate people can get to the church and participate.
Do you think my church would be guilty of willful and knowingly sinning? I imagine you're thinking my entire church thinks it doesn't matter and we're saved anyway, but you would probably say we're all going to hell. We just went to far, you might say, as you make the decision about our eternal salvation solely based on what we're doing, and not what we're believing.
Now read 1 Corinthians. Because this is exactly what they were doing. These guys didn't give a second thought to just indulging in horrible decisions that pleased the flesh.
So the apostle Paul writes them a letter to tell them this is inappropriate. And he should, and I would expect someone to say the same thing to my church. Sin IS BAD. There's no place for in the Christian life. How can we who died to sin still live in it? But at no point does Paul make threats to them about their salvation. In fact, he does just the opposite. He reaffirmed their security in Christ. You don't even have to get past chapter one to see it.
1 Corinthians 1:2 Paul tells him they've been sanctified in Christ.
1 Corinthians 1:2 he calls them saints by calling
1 Corinthians 1:3 he says they have grace and peace from God.
1 Corinthians 1:4 Paul thanks God for them and the grace God has given them
1 Corinthians 1:5 Paul says they are all enriched in Jesus
1 Corinthians 1:6 he says the testimony of Christ is confirmed in them
1 Corinthians 1:7 Paul says they are not lacking any gift
and wait for it. wait. wait
1 Corinthians 1:9 he says in the end they will be confirmed as blameless
So these adulterous, gluttons, orgy having, drunkards will be presented as blameless? How can that be? After all, they're sinning and they know they're doing it.
And there you have your answer Greg. The Corinthians were not saved by avoiding orgies and being drunkards. They were saved through faith, by grace, not of themselves. And if you' e going to imply differently, then I would strongly encourage you to examine yourself. Because this would be a strong suggestion that you're not truly trusted Jesus, and are trusting in yourself for salvation. Even the demons believe. But I can tell you this, they are trusting Jesus to save them. Are you?

Indeed, it was written to the Jews. Which is why I frequently say, we don't need to put ourselves in the shoes of the recipient of every letter we read in the Bible. Unfortunately, many people viewed this letter as being addressed to all of humanity, and that's that we try to figure out how it applies to us.

Born again Christians DON'T willfully sin. That's why this doesn't apply to us, but to Jews in the tribulation. Romans 7 makes it very clear that when we sin, it's not from our will, but it's the flesh. Our spirit, the new man does not and cannot sin, just as 1 John 3:9 clearly says. If people only understood Romans 7, there would not be sooo much confusion regarding sin. No, we do not sin on purpose, we sin through temptation and ignorance. That's not on purpose. On purpose is if you plan to do it on a sober mind, like the unsaved do. Again, Paul makes it abundantly clear. "Now if I do what I will not to do [sinning], it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me." (Rom 7:20 NKJV) And by the way, these people adressed in Hebrews 10:26 can't be unbelievers because it says in verse 29 that they were sanctified by the blood of Christ! We are sanctified by faith in Christ, so these MUST be believers. But I believe they are believers in the tribulation, at which time there is no new birth, so that you can still willfully sin unlike as a born again Christian. I believe they will be sanctified through faith, but not born again in the spirit.

    • @jesuswithoutreligion
      @jesuswithoutreligion  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Anyone who says born-again Christians don’t willfully sin should consider reading the 1 Corinthians. You would have to commit intellectual suicide to:
1-say these people we’re not Christians
2-say, these people were not only committing, willful sin, but they were doing quite a bit of it.
Indeed, the evil one attacks us through the flesh. That’s the vessel. He tempts us and lies to us. But to say we don’t have free will to choose to engage in that sin, or avoid it, is not scriptural, in my view.
If Christians could not willfully sin there will be absolutely no purpose for even one verse regarding avoiding poor choices and bad decisions. Those verses exist because we do have free will to sin or avoid sin.
Re: 1 John 3:9 - No one who has been born of God practices sin, because His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin continually, because he has been born of God.
This does not say Christians do not willfully sin. The keyword is ‘practices’. It’s about an identity. I played basketball here in there with my son, but I don’t practice basketball. LeBron James, on the other hand, does practice basketball. It’s who he is.
And to drive this point further, I would like to use the SAME author in the SAME letter, who would agree with this:
1 JOHN 2:1 I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. BUT if anyone SINS, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous
So of course, John does not want us sinning, but he’s not naïve either. So he’s writing these things so that we will make good choices, while at the same time, acknowledging if we do sin, Jesus has already made the payment.
Yes Paul does write: Now if I do what I will not to do [sinning], it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me
However, Paul is not passing the buck for his choices. The point he’s making is that he is not the source of sin. He is acknowledging that there’s a real force at work. But you should not think for a moment that Paul is not free to avoid coveting or whatever type of sin. Again, if Christians literally could not willfully make these choices, there would not be a one verse in all of scripture, calling us to behave, and live out, godly lives. Clearly, the heart of God is acknowledging that we still live in broken bodies, and we need to make proper choices.
My concern with your theology as you might see someone like the Corinthians. Here they were engaged in sexual sin, abusing the Lord, supper, and all kinds of craziness.. People who hold your view would be staring down their nose at them telling them they're not Christians and their Hellbound. But the apostle Paul writes them and caused them saints. He tells them they will be presented as blameless in the end. He tells them they lack no spiritual gifts.. Indeed, he's going to call out their behavior, but he doesn't come within 1,000,000 feet of calling out their Christianity. And he works overtime to make sure he begins his letter by addressing their identity first, and their behavior last. And if anyone tries to tell me that the Corinthians we're not making these choices, willfully, then I'd say why in the world, are you bothering to tell them to stop doing them if they have no choice?
I’m trying to be as respectful as I can, but I think this is dangerous doctrine when people start teaching the stuff that Christians don’t willfully sin. I honestly believe when people say that they are making God a liar, and the truth is not in them. I don’t know if that describes you, or if you’ve just been incorrectly informed. And yes, it’s OK to disagree, but unfortunately, this is one of those things I definitely want to give quite a bit of pushback on. I get pushed back because the last thing I want is to have a Christian reading your comment, who, at the moment may be struggling somewhere in his life, only to suddenly feel like he needs to doubt his Christianity, because of his human performance, which would totally undermine his/her faith.

I’m embarrassed to say this but I remember when I was a lukewarm Christian, before I sinned I thought in my head that it is okay and that I will be forgiven. • @jesuswithoutreligion
      @jesuswithoutreligion  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Let me start by saying this. Sin is bad and we Christians should honestly do our very best to avoid it. We should walk in the spirit and avoid indulging the desires of the flesh.
With that disclaimer out there first, I’d like to make the following points.
There’s no such thing as a lukewarm Christian. That is a man-made theology that comes from a terrible interpretation from Revelation 3. Here’s a brief explanation of Rev 3 th-cam.com/video/R6LVb_Bt5tE/w-d-xo.html.
You asked me are you forgiven because you feel guilty and convicted. My answer is NO. The only reason you are forgiven is because he called on Jesus Christ to rescue you from your sins. You feeling guilty or convicted has nothing to do with your salvation.
The apostle James said we ALL stumble in many ways. In other words, you sin, I sin, we all stumble in many ways.
So I’m going to be abundantly clear. No matter how many sins you committed, Jesus will forgive them. It doesn’t matter how small or big they are. No I’m not saying that we should sin. That would be crazy talk. But I will not deny what Jesus did on the cross for us. He literally gave his life and shed his blood for you. Let’s not deny the finished work on the cross.
If righteousness could be obtained by our human effort, then Jesus died needlessly - Galatians 2:21.
Jesus died because you cannot perform perfectly. Let’s recognize our weaknesses. Let’s recognize our need for Jesus. Let’s not pretend like we are not capable of sin. When we do that people will understand why we are so obsessed with our love for Jesus. They need to know why we are dependent upon him. But we promote this false message that we do not struggle, no one takes us seriously.
      Love you. Hope that helps.

@@jesuswithoutreligion I appreciate your response. I went to the comments to understand what your position is. I just want to maybe give you something to consider, about Moses's precept in Deuteronomy 24:1-4. Do you feel that by keeping this law it puts people in jeopardy of the judgment, according to what Paul said to the Jews in Hebrews 10:26?

    • @jesuswithoutreligion
      @jesuswithoutreligion  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ajlouviere202 Great question.
I would not worry too much about what Deuteronomy says on this subject. That was law-based living. And in some cases the brother of the wife's husband would have to marry her. And if we're going to grab onto that then we need to grab onto it all. No more eating shrimp or pork. Locking women up on their menstrual cycle. Stoning disobedient children.
But let's connect this question to the scripture you asked about in Hebrews 10:26.
      This is what it says:
For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
If you were to go back and read chapters 1- through 10 here's what you will not find. You will not find even one mention of outward sin. There's no discussion about lying, murder, adultery, or any other type of outward sin.
The first 10 chapters are dedicated to addressing only one type of sin. Inward sin. The sin of Unbelief.
So, When we get to Hebrews 10:26, the writer is driving home the following point (reworded):
'For if we go on willfully denying Jesus after receiving the knowledge of the truth about him, they are no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, Because he is the only acceptable sacrifice for sins, And denying him is the one and only wilful sin that will not be forgiven'.
      Does that help?
If by chance you would like any commentary on any chapter in Hebrews, I've done a verse by verse study that may help you see this differently. jesuswithoutreligion.com/bible-study-online/hebrews/

    • @jesuswithoutreligion
      @jesuswithoutreligion  3 ปีที่แล้ว

@Julie I think the writer was specific in verse 26. If you read the first 10 chapters of Hebrews you were not going to find even one verse talking about outward sin. No mention of lying. No mention of adultery. No mention of stealing, coveting, etc. The only sin the writer discusses is the evil sin of unbelief.
It’s also important to keep in mind that it’s very difficult translating the Hebrew language or Greek into English. But we can definitely tell that the writer was talking about unbelief because that’s the only thing that has been in the entire discussion.
There’s no more sacrifice because Jesus is the only sacrifice. You can’t reject Jesus and then find another acceptable sacrifice at the altar. Bulls and goats won’t cut it.
The ‘we’ is not believers. Hebrews are Jewish people. Again I encourage you to find one verse in chapters 1 - 10 that refer to any other kind of sin, other than unbelief.
The writer can say 'we' and still be accurate and not being an unbeliever. For example, I could be talking to a bunch of smokers, and say “if we’re going to smoke we may possibly get cancer”, yeah that doesn’t mean that I am a smoker. I’m simply saying anyone who smokes is subject to getting cancer. In this case the ride or saying if we, meaning anyone, willfully deny Jesus Christ, they are no longer remains a sacrifice for any of us that would do that.
The King James version is OK but I’m not a big fan. As a matter fact, most scholars agree king James was not a believer. So why even call his version the only correct one.? This king just wanted his name known. I honestly have no idea why people give him so much attention. And keep in mind he came on the scene 1500+ years after Jesus. So I’m not sure why people think it took God 1500 years to get it right.
Can I offer you were suggesting that I think will give your heart peace? I did a video series teaching the book of Hebrews. I really believe if you will listen to these videos in order you will discover that what I am sharing with you is correct. But it’s easier for you to hear the entire letter than just focus on one verse. Here a link to them.

Every sin is of the will of man. This passage is not talking about individual sins people commit willfully but the SIN of rejecting Jesus Christ as your only Lord and Savior from all of your sins and the hell we deserve. That's why it says there or elsewhere, there is no sacrifice for sins left (if you reject the one Way, Truth, and Life). Therefore, there is now NO condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Romans 8). Works based salvation is of the devil and is not the TRUE GOSPEL. That's why Jesus said, many will say to me on that day...Did we not cast out demons in your name and perform signs in your name and will tell them plainly, I NEVER KNEW YOU. Because they were trusting in their works to "earn" favor with God either to have salvation or to KEEP salvation instead of completely relying on the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary and Him being raised from the dead on the 3rd day by His Father, The Ancient of Days (I AM).

I would preference my response by saying if you hear from the Holy Spirit, it’s usually a smart idea to listen, and I’m quite certain it would benefit you. Of course, not knowing what you heard, I would say it’s equally important to make sure that was indeed the voice you heard.
Unfortunately, there have been times where people have told me the Holy Spirit told him something, but it was something that would completely go against what we would learn in the scriptures.
Today God speaks to us through his Son. For nearly all of us, we are not hearing anything audibly from the Holy Spirit. It’s more of an internal knowing.
Now to address your actual question. Anyone who is a Christian never has to fear being doomed to Hell. In fact, no Christian will ever face judgment or punishment. We simply do not see that teaching in the Scriptures. The one who believes is not judged. If you have sinned, your sins have been taken away, and remembered no more. That should put an end any idea that you may be headed to hell because you failed to listen to the counsel given to you by the Holy Spirit.
So you are secure. You are safe in Jesus. Do not fear. But if you hear his voice speaking to you in any way, I promise you will be happier if you respond accordingly.

First - Heck yes, let’s avoid sin. Sin is awful. We’re not made for sin. God has better plans for us!!!! Let's exude great works through Christ :)
Second - Heck no, let’s not teach people that in the event we do sin (even willfully) that that negates the work on the cross, or even slightly impacts our security and salvation.
Let’s start with this fun fact….
We are NOT under the law (Gal 3:25), we have been released from the Law (Rom 7:6), because Jesus is the end of the law for all who believe (Rom 10:4)
So circling back to your comment that willful sin is called transgression. Since we’re not under the law, let’s see what the Bible says about this transgression….
      * where there is no law there is no transgression -Romans 4:15*
I know a lot of people try to make the case that they don’t willfully sin anymore. I’m not buying it. And if we say we are without sin, we make him a liar, and the truth is not in us.
I am often saddened by the idea that people view the gospel of grace as some type of license to sin or condoning poor choices. They simply will not let their brothers and sisters rest in the finished work of the cross. Let’s call it like it is, they think that too much grace from God leads to more sin. I would think that would be very offensive to Jesus that we don’t trust grace.
While it may offend the religious ego, if you are a Christian, your sins have been completely paid for on the cross. Your sins will be remembered no more. He/She will be presented as blameless on judgment day. It is literally impossible for a Christian two outs in the grace of God. Where sin increased, Grace abounds all the more - Romans 5:20
I have to be honest, if anyone is pushing a message outside of that it is borderline if not fully a cult. It’s high time we start believing the promises of Jesus and get out of this Jewish man’s covenant so we can embrace the new covenant found it all better hopes in better promises.
Something to make help you. The old cabinet was the Jewish people promising God they would do everything in the Law. Yet, we know none of them did it, and none of them were found righteous through the law. For this reason, it is referred to as a ministry of condemnation and death. Even James, who you quoted, said, whoever keeps the entire law, but stumbles at one part of it has become guilty of it all. So it’s not about a lifetime of sinning. It takes one time to mess up, and you’re guilty of it all. So you should be very careful pushing that system, because you’re (nor am I) not qualified to push it yourself.
So what’s the difference in the new covenant? It’s certainly not us promising God we will keep everything written in the Law. Nope, in fact, outside of being a receiver through faith, man has no role in it.
Because God could swear by no one greater, he swore by himself - Hebrews 6:13.
Yep. It turns out when the covenant is between God and humans we mess it up every time. God was not naïve. The purpose of the law was to show us how desperately we needed a new covenant. One that was not about our performance or your promises.
We have one role. Believe that Jesus had the authority in the power to rescue us from his work on the cross and resurrection.. With all due respect, if we push any other system, e are not trusting Jesus.
