This is not from "back then," that's why it's integrated. Back then, the US was a hellscape of white supremacist cruelty. These are kids who are reviving old style dancing and leaving out the sickness of the old days.
Sent this to my daughter in the Arctic north of Ottawa. It was played in the Capital the next day and the whole place lit up. She danced in high school to this and so did I when it first came out. She said I had far better music growing up than she did.
I have watched several of the KCTU Dancers videos and am very impressed. The young lady in the front row with the blue dress and the black shoes should be a professional dancer. She has the focus and creativity to go far. Definitely my favorite.
I never heard of the KCTU dancers. I lived in eastern Kansas during the entire 1960s-1970s era, and our 3 TV channels came from KC, MO. We lived about 60 miles south of KC. Those kids sure dance well!
This isn't that old. It was filmed around 2015. I think KTCU is a TV station out of Wichita and these were local kids. The girl with the blue dress is the choreographer and only 15 or 16 at the time.
This Is What We Did Back In The Good Ole Days 1960s It's Great To See Them Out On The Dance Floor Having Fun That's What It's All about I Have To Say We Had Some Of The Best Music & Dance Moves Thank You KCTU Dancers !!!
This song brings happy moments dancing at parties at friends home and remembers on the top of the house in Miami, FL - we danced everything including the Fish, Mashed Potatoes, and Wah Watusi. You know it was wonderful during those Summer Nights!
First and foremost I was born in the 50's so I'd like to thank each and everyone of you for keeping our music alive. This was so enjoyable to watch. All you young people did a fabulous job !!!!!! Keep up the great work ♥♥♥
@@garygrogg8629man this all brings me back to my era where I listened to so much doo wop back when I was in high school in the 2000s. Loved that music and the music videos on here.
The kids radiate happiness and joy in what they are doing. It’s now 26 April 2020 and we are going thru a nation wide virus concern. I ran across this and shared it with over 200 people across the global. My kids who are teenagers really enjoy watching the KCTU Dancers. Very positive examples of being involved in something that one enjoys and others can enjoy and appreciate. We have seen the Mash Potato Time and the Wau Tutsi. Looking for others. We wish this kids who are about 4-5 years older now much success and blessings in their lives. May God bless them and guide and protect them, and lead them to where God has a plan and a purpose for them. Great music! We also appreciate the host and his co-host. God bless🙏🏻🇺🇸
These kids are great, I really enjoy watching them have fun dancing to this music. I think the one in the black and gray dress might be the best dancer.
I dont know how this ended up in my feed, but im loving it. Ive watched three videos of these kids (adults now i guess) It's got me smiling from ear to ear. I'm loving the guys, they're having so much fun!
I think you are a genius and a definite Godsend, James. Thank you for bringing some much laughter and joy to so many. I hope you have tremendous success in the future. Sincerely, your forever fan, Johnny 🥰🥰
What a treat to watch these young dancers doing such a great job, looking great too. They manage to get the moves in sync, maneuver in tight quarters close together, AND have a good time. The mashed potato is a lot harder than it looks. These dances all had different local variations in their original heyday. None of these kids were in any of those places, and weren't around then, so give them credit for approximating it (which they do a nice job of), 50+ years later. These do a good job of re-creating local, late night TV back before networks completely ran everything. THANKS for posting all these - and keep dancing!
