Inside the KCTU Control Room
มุมมอง 9954 ปีที่แล้ว
Here's the old control room during a production of "Your Hour" in 2014 when KCTU-TV 43 was located at 2100 E. Douglas in Wichita, KS. This is where The Low-Budget Late Show (KCTU Dancers), Good Morning Wichita, Your Hour, Mouthy Broads, The River City Forum and all the other live or pre-recorded shows were made. Needless to say, I spent countless hours in here. While the equipment wasn't up-to-...

Here's the opening sequence and show intro from KCTU's magazine program which still airs every day at noon in the Wichita area, now on channel 5. Produced live by husband and wife team Ron and Sheryl Nutt. This footage is from June 2, 2014.

Here's the news segment in KCTU's "Your Hour" magazine program as of 2014 after the "This is the Place" re-brand. During this part of the show, Sheryl Nutt, who normally hosted, would come up from the basement studio to run the teleprompter. RJ Dickens reporting. Ron Nutt directing and myself on audio and video playback. Recorded direct to glorious DVD.
43 Reports in Your Hour - KCTU Newscast - 2012
มุมมอง 2574 ปีที่แล้ว
I was trying to figure out why I had this DVD, and then I realized it was from the first TV show I directed solo at age 16. Here's newsman RJ Dickens and his bottom-of-the-hour newscast as aired on KCTU-TV in Wichita, Kansas, on July 27, 2012 as part of the daily "Your Hour" magazine program. Keep in mind most of the broadcast equipment was from the 80's and 90' (and some from the 60's and 70's).
Booty Swing - KCTU Dancers
มุมมอง 38K6 ปีที่แล้ว
A few years ago, the generous owners of KCTU-TV in Wichita, KS let some teenagers take over their studio and produce and air basically whatever they wanted. This is the result. Using almost no equipment from the 21st century including TV cameras from 1983 and computers not much newer than that, the Low-Budget Late Show was born during the summer of 2014. Here's "Booty Swing" by Parov Stelar fro...

Tribute to Morgan Faulkner
มุมมอง 9597 ปีที่แล้ว
Remembering my friend Morgan Faulkner, who helped me with many shows, including my first film, "The Glob," to a "A KCTU Halloween," the "Riverfest Report," "A KCTU Christmas," and the "Low-Budget Late Show." Without him, many of my videos would probably never exist. I hope this video will help others remember the caring, funny and personal side of Morgan. If you are struggling with thoughts of ...

Looks like a cross between "The Hustle, & some ballet positions." I always wondered what that dance looked like. I was raised in the 60's & 70's. Thank God for TH-cam.

Based on the type of TV camera, the microwave, and the style of the Pepsi drink can, this is an early to mid '70s video, not the '60s.
