Huge respect to Brandon! To take that criticism right before the test and stay calm and pass is not easy!
My instructor did the same to me. I felt like I was one of his best students, we literally just went out for a drive and a chat, he used to turn the radio up loud, just having fun. Then the hour before my test he got angry and pulled me up on everything, really knocked my confidence. Not sure what his methodology was, but it worked because I passed with 2 minors.

Btw Brendon, even if you didn't pass, it's okay. Obviously it'll be frustrating for you, but in the end, these tests just sometimes don't go the way we want them to. They'll still be plenty on other opportunities, and you will get it eventually.

Yes the dreaded STEAMED glasses with a mask, I wore contact lenses on my test day , I had my test September 2021 so masks were COMPULSORY 🙄 It was uncomfortable with the mask.
BUT I PASSED with 4 minors.
Not bad...I ALWAYS tell people I PASSED through the PANDEMIC 🤣

I'm so excited but I know the nerves will come in..
I'm going to be asking my instructor if I can cover all maneuvers so I feel confident with reference and mirror checks..
Also I have been watching alot on right turns with the correct time and positioning in yellow box if your exit is clear. also check for those green arrows..
I will have only had 30hrs upto my test date..
So I really need to put my head and knowledge into this.
One thing I feel I do tend to have struggle with sometimes is when changing from gear 2 to 3 I seem to dlip into gear 1 and its do annoying..
I am trying to be less heavy on gear stick and find it's much more smoother..
Working on clutch control on hill starts has been tricky and quite tense for me or even exiting a up hill junction, but I practiced and have mastered it with gritted teeth!😬😄 Thanks to some of the amazing videos from pin on here. 🙏
I feel my mirrors have definitely improved as I feel more confident driving and handling the vehicle.
It's all about remembering central left or central right before any change of lane or direction, before approaching traffic lights and roundabouts before you slow down mirror, signal speed,.. getting to the that correct speed and timing so that it makes it more easy to observe what's going on on the round about as you draw closer and whether there is a safe gap for exit smoothly or if I have to stop..
Hahaa sorry I feel like I'm writing an essay here but it good as I know what I need to be on point in my head!
I have only been driving since end of September last year so I'm not about to beat myself up if I do not succeed this first time as I see it as an experience .
I just took this date test as it was the only one available in my area for nearly 7 months!
I've done my best and that's all we can do..
It is said, if at first we dont succeed, pick yourself up and try again. 😌😁🙏
But I remain confident yet humble that putting in the hard work will pay off..🙏 All the best and blessing to you all..

@@ThePrivet18 I believe the test is mostly down to luck rather than someone’s “skill” whilst driving. I failed my first test because I had a very harsh examiner, yet my friend did the same thing I failed for in her test and passed.

As someone with Adhd I feel like those tips would actually really help me as i get bored very quickly and my mind wanders, so to talk things through mentally is keeping you focused and the chewing gum is acting as a fidget toy, helping to keep your concentration. Great job and well done again on the pass!! Drive safe x

I’ve watched Brandon’s driving journey since I was 15 and I’m so glad he’s finally passed. I’m going to be 17 this May and I can’t wait to start driving lessons this summer!
Hopefully you don’t have to wait months and months for a test
Make sure you do your theory as soon as you are able to. It’s quite easy to revise for and you need it before you book your test. You could book your test straight after the en regardless of how ready you feel because there will be a long delay any way (5/6 months)

I have my test in a week. I’m currently on the website about to purchase the course. Time to knuckle down and believe in myself and just get myself familiar with all the knowledge already in my head. All the best Brandon really motivated and inspired me to push past any fears. I’m actually like yourself in terms of thinking a lot and I’ve found talking out loud on my lessons helps but I probably would have avoided it on my test incase I say the wrong thing but like you said sometimes it can help you in the opposite way verbalising things can help reassure them that you are aware and know what you’re doing & lastly the chewing gum is another great tip I realised this trick early in my lessons :) all the best Brandon and well done Pin!

how the hell did you get your license within a couple days? I'm still waiting for mine from november, although i sent mine in through paper application.. did you hand yours straight to the examiner?
@@LegendJ0e4 oh, I'm sorry to hear that. But like you said, I handed mine to the examiner who did all the paper work. She had asked me for my provisional licence and when i handed it to her, she told me that I won't be getting it back and to expect my official license through the post. Hopefully you will receive yours very soooooooon. 🤞

Congratulations Brandon. The morning of my test I had a mug of coffee & 2 bananas, followed by chewing gum while in the car. I'd heard that bananas are supposed to be good brain food, and the chewing gum helped me to concentrate. Also when nerves were getting the better of me in the test centre that morning, I said to myself "Ok, the driving examiner has got a job to do, I have got a job to do, so let's both get out there and get it done", and it worked for me ❤🙏❤

As someone that struggles with disassociation/distractions, I found your tips really helpful. Thank you for sharing. For anyone else that struggles, I've found that keeping myself cold and gum/halls/very strong mints helpful for me. Also getting my energy up (exercise) and good rest before my drive so I'm as alert as possible helps me.

I had the same marks in my tests! I failed my 1st and 2nd test (BOTH with 0 minors and 1 major) and finally passed on my 3rd attempt with only 2 minors! In hindsight I’m glad I failed because it really helped me to be more prepared and it just makes me even more grateful to have passed and now have my own car! Passing after failing is a feeling like no other :)

I'm glad I failed twice. really? I'm pretty sure you weren't think the same when you actually failed during that time & relieved when you actually passed/ even surprised by it on 3rd cause if you wanted you could've gone to 13th cause by your logic you could've learned even more as knowledge's endless. If that makes you feel better then sure also, nothing can prepare you for the real accident even with all the knowledge your best bet's to try & hope you avoid it as best as you can. Gratz & I also passed mine on 3rd

I wasn't even excited or happy after I passed my test. Was more relieved it was over. I had my test at that same center now almost 3 years ago. Congratulations. The learning doesn't end here. Now you learn how bad some people around you actually are.
Same here, the overwhelming emotion was just relief. My instructor drove me back and said have you got any plans to celebrate, and I just said not really I'm knackered hahah

Imagine seeing learners act as examiners, I just wonder how many faults they would pick up on compared to an examiner, maybe help people appreciate their role lol.
The only reason I bring this up is because I am a observant guy and I found watching my dad drive interesting (in contrast with mine).
Just one of life's little things you can look at and go "huh, that's interesting"...

It's a bit late, but well done Brandon! Over a year has gone by since you passed, and I'm sure you're 100x better now than you were when you passed! I've so far been learning to drive for over 4 years, and you've proven the persistence pays off in the long run. I have my test booked for January but you've given me some confidence that anything is possible if you work towards it

I've been quietly watching since Brandon started his very first lesson.
I had many years of experience before i ever did a lesson. Passed with 2 minors just over 2 years ago. Experience isn't the be all and end all. The driving instructor you have molds you're experience into what it will become. Always put into practice what you are taught even if its only you on the road!.
Big respect to Pin for these videos and mentally pushing Brandon in that final lesson. The pressure was on and the lad took the rant you gave him and went on to pass. Which says a lot for Brandons mentality. Well done lads 💪.
