    Today I received my WEN RT1460 router, and I'm considering purchasing the WEN RT1460 oscillating router. I am from Colombia. I was unfamiliar with this brand, and I struggled to find many comments and opinions. However, the few comments I did find convinced me that it is a reputable brand. As a DIY enthusiast, I would like to introduce this brand to my country. Thank you for your video. Greetings.

    I have a couple Wen tools, their track saw and belt/spindle sander. I am quite happy with both. I wouldn’t hesitate buying something from them again.

      Glad they’re doing well for you! I see decided to make this video because I feel like there’s a lot of people who pretend like if a tool isn’t an expensive brand then you may as well not be in the game! I hope at least this gave someone the idea to start woodworking themselves and realize they don’t have to spend a fortune!

    Friend of mine ordered a wen electric hand planer for my birthday and i got it a couple days ago. Really made me ask myself why on earth i spent hundreds more on a traditional planer because this thing is great. Got the idea to mount it upside down and use it like a jointer and that worked great too

    I like wen because they sell a lot of replacement parts on top of being afffordable its a no brainer. I have read that they come out of the same factory in China as Ryobi tools. Meaning design won’t be the same necessarily but quality should be similar. The 40v batteries are somewhat affordable at $70 compared to $190 for 4ah.

    I own about a dozen WEN tools. I am happy with all but the track saw (replaced with a cordless Makita) and the thickness planer (replaced with Dewalt DW735). They are definitely budget tools, so if you're a professional woodworker or plan to become one, don't buy WEN products. In the long run, they won't be up to the task of long-term production work.

    • @Brads-Woodshed
      @Brads-Woodshed  ปีที่แล้ว

      Very true! But the video was more aimed toward someone who isn’t a professional woodworker. More the diy guy, the hobbyists, etc.

    I have the same stapler and it is a great tool. Like 14 bucks. I have a 16ga finish nail too. I do have a 2 speed wen miter saw and I can not express enough how bad I hate it. Nothing I like, blade changes suck the fence is not even straight if you lay a straight edge a cross the fence it ha a gap of about a1/16th right under the blade so it will actually bind on the blade. Plus when I went to puta better blade on it the shaft was a few thousands bigger than 5/8ths. I had to torn the saw on with a light sandpaper and file it down so a standard blade fit. Pure chunk of shit! I thin they DC the product. But it is the only real dud I got and it was about $200 bucks. They do make a awesome rotary Dremel type tool with flex shaft for under 20 bucks. Great tool but the little bits it comes with should go straight in the trash. But if you want a powerful rotary tool for the money it can not be beaten.

      I have that one as well and intended on featuring it, simply sipped my mind, I will say much like Harbor Freight, WEN has tools I think are great and others I avoid! I am interested in purchasing a mortiser, and am stuck on either a WEN or a GRIZZLY. Now under normal circumstances I would say Grizzly would be the way to go but looking at them they look identical other than color! Not sure which I’ll go with

    RT 6033 router, The idiot who designed the base needs replacing! You are limited to small-diameter bits. I need it for a 1-inch round-over. The bit is about 2 1/2 inches in diameter.
