I own the 2014 eco model with a manual. That is the best version if you ask me. It is rated 28/33/42 but I consistently get 38-40 all around and 42 or better on the highway in the summer. I only had to replace a front wheel bearing and the rear trunk release button. Otherwise, stellar. And I have 66,000 on her.
Renting a 2014 Chevy Cruze gasoline for the next 3 weeks while my car is being fixed. After driving it for one week this is my review. Pros: nice looking, 34 mpg even though I lead foot, enormous trunk space, comfy front bucket seats. Cons: noticeable dragging delay starting from a stop, very high rpm before automatic shift, very jerky steering when making small steering corrections while driving (huge annoyance), door lock buttons on dash in middle, tiny radio volume dial, low low front seats, horribly small back seat, drinks get sucked into deep cup holders where the lids have come off of every drink I have put in there, bad wind noise so I never roll my windows down, and finally when you want to use the engine for breaking say going down step hills, there's no OD button instead there's this part of shifting that will put the car into gear from M1-M6. You have to read the manual before driving to figure this mess out. This feature sucks and it's also delayed so it doesn't serve the function you would need it to to save your brakes on hills or in rush hour traffic. You just shift up our down and it's suppose to gear down your car similar to a manual transmission, but there's a huge jump in rpm and delayed engine control so you still end up using the brake most of the time. Both my car that's in the shop and my 10 year old Xterra have OD buttons and 2nd and 1st gears that respond better. At least I know one car I will never own.
@@maximus9889 haha I think it's a winter thing tbh. Not sure if you live in the north but it seems to be a cycle. I save up money for the winter knowing somethings going to happen to it. Good luck with your car though all that aside!

The dated-retro-conservative style of the car is ideal. It's the kind of automobile that gets you from point A to point B with just enough style to make people wonder whether you're middle-class, wealthy, or possibly very wealthy. It has a more powerful stance than its competitors, and the turbocharged version will go from zero to 60 mph in roughly 9 seconds. You may go through the gears manually for added pleasure and to surprise people with how lively a "ordinary-looking" car can be right off the line. Although it is unlikely to win many races, you can always fantasize how the car might do if it had twice the horsepower. At highway speeds, it feels good, and the trunk space is adequate for most daily shopping needs. Great automobile for a single individual who occasionally drives a friend or two around town.
The diesel is great. Nice that the review mentions that. EU has about 1/2 the cars on diesel and they have very good motors for this fuel. Also, more reliable, steel and not aluminum like the mitsubishi sold in the US. More torque, better milege makes it perfect for a commuter car. Now how about manual on this diesel?
2014- Toyota corolla S or Chevy cruze LTZ? I need help. I currently drive 03 Camry and want to upgrade to something with more "goodies" but still reliable and good mpg. Help please
Coming from an x cruze owner. 2014 ls 6spd 83k, two wiper motors, one flywheel, one starter, one valve cover, one set battery cables, one cad converter, numerous electrical problems ,stall out at low speeds and lurch ahead, This car was only driven by my wife since new. The car was babied, clean, serviced all the time. Had to trade for a new car. Lost huge money because of the blue book on car. Do not make the same mistake I did !!!!!
your list is extremely similar to mine. This car is so flawed and all the issues the car has are almost standard for every 2014 chevy cruze. There should be recalls for all these cheap ass plastic parts.
I just got the Cruze LT. I'm pretty happy with it, but I do agree with G. Marin. The RPM DOES go very high before shifting gears. I also started noticing a "fan" undertone noise when I exhilarate on the engine. Now, I know it's a V4, so it's not going to sound all Camaro on me, but that engine fan noise is starting to be a bit annoying, it's like a soft, but consistent grating sound. It sounds every time I rev up the accelerator. Does anyone else have this issue?
Tip dude, hit the unlock button (in your car) couple times fast in a row to pop the trunk. I never got why they did not make a seperate switch for that.
Mylink is NOT standard on most models, not sure what the reviewer was thinking. It's nearly 1000usd optional upgrade when you buy a cruze. Also "They diesel is the most expensive , you get 6 gear automatic" not shit, EVERY CRUZE HAS THAT GEARBOX! Worst review ever, their is tons of misinformation in it.

This car is about 5 years too late. I'm a Diesel Tech... 5 Years ago I would had Recommended this car, even if the sticker price was much higher. Today's Diesel Vehicles are much less reliable due to a ridiculous amount of extra emission components. If you really want a diesel. Try an older Jetta.
why are we still seeing buttons, physical nobs and static odometer and RPM dials in cars? put 2 or 3 screens with the main one being a 15+ inch flat screen display in the dash for the info-com-control system and call it a day. knobs and dials are so last year. with a screen you can customize it how every you want, and you can upgradable the look.
