    Another great video. I see this is the Corsa D from your timing chain replacement video. What happened after that made you need to change the lifters also?

      The lifters were too noisy look like a diesel engine, so i decided to change it, now is quite like it should.

    I just removed the head to do a valve grind on z14xep engine. The lifters expanded out as they should. But some refuse to be pushed back by the valve spring force to the correct adjusted position leaving the valve off the seat and no compression. I assume it is because the lifters are old and sludge gets jammed in them.

    Very informative video, thanks very much 👍. One question if I may.
    Before refitting the tappets, did you had them decompressed?

    • @HOWTODIYwithEddy
      @HOWTODIYwithEddy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had them lubrificated in oil for a while before refitting them, nothing else was done.

    Hi how much where the tappets ? And did it fix issue

    • @HOWTODIYwithEddy
      @HOWTODIYwithEddy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It cost me at the time just over 10 each, and yes it did resolve the issue, but need to make sure the oil pump is working otherwise if no oil reach the tappets the issue remain

    Hi when you did the hydraulic lifters did you replace the chain aswel only asking for I’ve a corsa e 16 plate and I’ve only done 27thousand plus miles and the other day my car started ticking over quite loud specially when I put my foot down then when I slowed down it was quit I’ve had oil change don’t on Friday it was fine then once it warmed up after half hour of going home started again but not as loud my garage sed it will be fine now obviously not don’t fancy going to a Vauxhall garage as they will bum rape me so don’t no were to start ask my garage to change my hydraulic lifters first and see what happens then my chain after but can’t see my chain naffed at 27 thousand plus miles

    • @HOWTODIYwithEddy
      @HOWTODIYwithEddy  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      no, with that millage you don't need to change the chain, unless is any rattling noise from it, also is strange with that millage already lifters issues, but i don't know
