This is similar situation in 2011 MVP, Rose had worse team, without any superstar, but had better record, but Lebron had DWade (who is btw in MVP conversation), and Bosh, but still worse record than Bulls. This is pretty much the copy of 2011, but this time, Lebron is much older, and he has one superstar, but also Giannis is older than Rose in 2011

Slobber Claw how is age a part of being the MVP? Why should we be giving extra points just cuz someone is doing better than expected compared to one’s age?
Just like what was said in the podcast, I'm not building my franchise around Khris Middleton but I will build my franchise around AD. It's that simple, Giannis is the MVP unless the Bucks fall off horribly or LeBron averages an efficient triple double. Can't wait to hear ppl say "LeBron got robbed". Got my popcorn ready 😁 Just a NYK fan over here.
Apollo Justice except that means nothing... you can argue LeBron has the Better “second player” but Giannis has the better all around team which is proven by how good the team performs without him on the floor... where as the Lakers even with Anthony Davis(as good as he is) play horrible without LeBrkn
I feel like if Zion plays 35-ish games on his numbers, and Ja misses some time, he might take it. Remember that Joel Embiid, on about 30 games, was a serious RotY candidate simply because his competition was Malcolm Brogdon and Dario Saric. Game time matters but it doesn't matter as much as some people consider.
@@dtc603 I know, but he was heavily considered a frontrunner. If game time mattered as much as some people think it does, Embiid wouldn't have even been in the RotY conversation.
Lucas Bell oh I wouldn’t be surprised if the league gives it to him. I’m just saying unless he plays about 60 games, which is obv impossible, he doesn’t deserve it. It’s rookie of the year not rookie of the 35 games.
I got into it with my homie because of this and then when I told him it’s no way LeBron is winning MVP, he tried to change the argument to say “oh well LeBron is still better” when I never disputed that point.

I think this weekend just gave giannis a 0% chance at getting unanimous mvp. And this rate the race is actually boutta be close, but you can’t deny giannis man
Look man, I get it, I want Bron to win MVP every year. He has a case almost every year. I'm a stan of him tbh, to me he's the GOAT. But Giannis far and away deserves MVP this year. I think it should be unanimous, but that's not gonna happen.
How can you be the GOAT if you have a losing record in the Finals? Have never Three-peat? You ain’t GOAT that belongs to MJ or Kareem. Once LeBron wins another MVP and Title then I’ll say he’s better than Larry Bird and Magic Johnson
You can't because the moment LBJ sits the Lakers turn into a worse version of the 2018 Pelicans. AD is a top 5 player but it's easy to see that LBJ is the leader in that team and how good he is controlling the pace of the game and get open shots for his teammates.
Gabriel NR what you don’t realise is that the lakers are built around Lebron and not AD which is why they look bad without Lebron on the floor. They have no playmakers outside of Lebron hence why the team looks bad
Gabriel NR what you don’t realise is that the lakers are built around Lebron and not AD which is why they look bad without Lebron on the floor. They have no playmakers outside of Lebron hence why the team looks bad
Funny how people still has not caught on. The reason why Lebron teams play horrible when he sits is because the team is built around Lebron, not team play. The same thing in happened with the heat and cleveland.
Took the words straight out of my mouth this is similar to 2018 when james harden was going through the same situation as Giannis when the media was pushing Lebron
@Jtbuckets Having another top 10 player on your team disqualifies you from the MVP conversation. Lebron fans are bugging if they think he deserves MVP while he shares the floor with the best center in the NBA while KD and Steph were disqualified from the conversation because they shared the floor with each other.
Two or more great players on the same team shouldn’t eliminate either of them from MVP consideration, otherwise LeBron shouldn’t have won the 2012 or 2013 MVPs while on the same team as D Wade, or Jordan with Pippen, Bird with those great teams in the 80s, etc. As far as Steph and KD, it’s a matter of narratives. Steph had better numbers in the 2016-2017 season and 2017-2018 seasons than he did in his 2014-2015 MVP season, despite the fact the KD was on the team. I think the narrative was that they were a 60+ win team without KD, so KD joining them more or less shunned Steph from winning the award. KD was probably the second best, or at least top 3, player in the league going to the best team in the league, so his narrative was written as soon as he held up that golden state jersey. Plus, the fans, the media, and the analysts pretty much already knew that warriors would win championships, so there was no need, in their minds, to stack their eventual championships with MVP, DPOY, or COTY awards because of how good their teams were even though they were so great as players. Plus, when you compare their seasons to Russ and Harden, there wasn’t enough of a “storyline” to sell for them. Meanwhile, Russ was in Okc “by himself” and Harden was “robbed” of MVP like 2-3 times before, so the media gave them those awards because of the storyline. And then you have to consider voter’s fatigue. No one wants to see the same people win all the time except for fans of that player. So if Steph wins the 2017 or 2018 MVP, you’re going to run into a double issue of voter’s fatigue and backlash since he had KD on the team. If KD wins either of them, the narrative then becomes “he joined the team that beat him and doesn’t deserve anything.” So the media went the safe route and granted “storyline awards” to LeBron and Russ.
A week ago, Lebron hadn't taken down the 3 biggest stars in the NBA in a row, Giannis wasn't out with a sprained knee, and the Bucks were on pace for 70 wins. Things have shifted a bit.
Lebron has one great game against the pelicans and now everyone thinks he should win mvp. I love Lebron but Giannis has been killing it he deserves the back to back
Jose thats false as fuck. I agree Giannis should win MvP but to say Lebron had one good game and act like he isn’t the best facilitator of all time at his position and hasn’t been balling out and playing good defense is ridiculous. Give him credit you bum. 25/10/8 lmao one good game doesn’t earn you that
Some counter points to your view 1 Like or not age 35 and year 17 is a huge factor 2 Giannis was having the best per ever, now he dropped to 6th 3 Bucks were on pace to 70 wins, now they are just 1 game ahead of the Lakers 4 Giannis missed 9 games now and counting, Lebron missed 2 5 Bucks have mostly the same team they had last year, Lakers have an almost completely different team, different coaching staff etc 6 Lebron is playing a different position than he had played his entire career 7 Giannis is playing slightly worse than before Even after all that, i agree Giannis is the frontrunner, but this is definitely a race for the MVP and Lebron can and i believe he will pass Giannis when the season ends
The ESPN video where they said that LeBron surpassed Giannis in the MVP race is actually not available in my territory (Greece), this is the first time this happens with a video from The Jump, I guess they knew what was about to happen in the comments section
2017 Russ wins over harden , “he has better numbers “ 2019 giannis wins over harden “ he was best player on best team “ 2020 giannis best player on best team with better numbers . “ LeBron mvp end of discussion “
the mvpg thing was completely different. Paul george become the clear best player on the thunder midway through last year and he was putting up insane and efficient scoring numbers for several weeks. Plus neither giannis nor harden were having historic seasons. harden averaged 36 but his team was underperforming and losing a lot of games where he scored over 40-50. Lebron played well in 2 games and now the media is drooling over him like he’s been averaging 50 points on the toughest 10 game schedule of all time
I agree the media made a quick jump, but I think this weekend just proves what kind of player Lebron is.. a realization we should’ve had prior to beating Bucks and Clips
that's the only thing he's lead for the season throughout the league, let alone his team. not leading his team in points, rebounds, steals, blocks, fg%, 3pt% and per. he's got literally nothing going for him in any mvp talk
To be fair, I dont think Giannis has “ran away with” the race. I think hes been the clear frontrunner and likely will still win it, but the Lakers record and Lebrons play hasn’t kept him far off from being in the race. Obviously he hasn’t surpassed him in this week alone, but I would not compare it at all to last year with PG. The Thunder were not like the Lakers and PG was not playing at Lebrons level.
you dont recall 2015 james harden movement? the 2019 paul george movement? the 2017 lebron movement? come on now, this always happen, i think Lebron has a shot if his team finishes with the best record in the league but that doesn't mean he will.
An mvp is an mvp but let’s see what these 2 do in the playoffs and I’ll be greatly disappointed to see the bucks chock again this year and I’ll like to see lakers make it to atleeast the western conference finals or even better the finals coming from a cavs fan
Squidillion well yes but they should make it to the finals this year and anything less is a failure and if the lakers don’t make it to the finals it’s a failure but they have to go through the clippers to make it their and if they lose to any other team lebron will get so much hate and blame
@@CantStopFade no he wont. If the bucks dont make the finals there will be sooooo much hate for him. If the Lakers unluckily lose to the clippers in the second round, there would not be nearly as much hate for them because the clippers are legit title contenders, even favorites in many people's eyes
Squidillion bro the lakers are the favorites. No contest. LBJ and AD gonna handle anyone in the playoffs watch clips series will a 7 gamer tho buck 6 gamer
Here’s how the narrative is going to go: Giannis will miss significant time with this new injury because the Bucks are very likely to be cautious with the #1 seed all but locked up. Meanwhile LeBron and the Lakers replace Milwaukee as the best record in the league and the narrative shifts as a result of this and the media probably wanting to please the legions Lakers fans.
LILUZIVERT1600 lol losing to the Nets certainly doesn’t help Lebron’s case. Or at this point it’s possible he missed an opportunity to strike while the iron is hot.
How can I like this video twice ?? Man I’m so glad I’m subscribed to you because in terms of basketball we’re always thinking logically and unbiased. The media and the lebron stans piss me off because they’re so many of them and most of them never think logically when talking about him. They love their daddy so much that they’re willing to go with whatever narrative they can only if it benefits him. Regardless if they’ve been on the other side of the argument for many years now, like the weak east argument that they’re using now ?? Ridiculous.
The MVP race is more about the better story than the more valuable player, Giannis has easily the more valuably season to his team but because his “story” isn’t good enough he might not even win MVP.
How can you say he has "easily the more valuable season"? Take Lebron off the Lakers and Giannis off Bucks and just think about what team loses more? Actualy no need to think about it, we saw it. Lakers cant do shit without Bron and Bucks were blowing out teams even when Giannis was out for majority of the season.
Who Cares horrible take. Giannis is the best player on the best team with no other superstar, lebron is the best player on the second best team with a superstar teammate. Who has more help? Lebron. Who has more wins? Giannis. Who has better stats? Giannis. Who deserves to win MVP? Giannis
Who Cares out for the majority of the season? What? You literally are making no sense. Take last night for example, Giannis wasn’t playing and they got murdered by the Suns.
I had this same convo about the “if lebron was on the mil team” last night! They was tryna use that whole he’s in the East excuse when lebron was in that same conference!! Now they’re using this against G.A. Come on bro!
Dwayne Carter moron, can I interest you in the fact that with lebron playing, the lakers were playing on pace to be the 8 seed, even when you take into consideration they tanked on purpose at the end of the season to get a good pick to trade for AD? That before lebrons injury lakers were a 4 seed? LA wasn’t a non playoff team. No team with Lebron playing on it is a non playoff team apart from like the knicks.
Gabriel NR Okay even with lebron healthy they were barely a .500 team that season. Fans need to give the other new players and AD major credit. Especially AD who’s a dpoy candidate and leading in damn near every stat except assists
I know the media needs storylines for views, but they are taking it too far. They are really trying to confuse things and make Bron the MVP. No media channel wants a runaway MVP because you can't talk about it so I understand putting Bron against Giannis, but to go as far as saying Bron is the MVP over Giannis is grossly unjust. Giannis is having one of the greatest season EVER, while Bron is not even having a top 5 season for himself. That says it all.
@@BC21beats The Bucks,Sixers,Raptors,Celtics and Heat are legitimate contenders, these teams were nowhere close to what they are now when LeBron was in the East. Argument can be made for the Raptors but none of the others.
One thing I have to say is that Lebron himself is having a historic season in many ways, whether that be his age, the teams record despite tough competition, his 25ppg and 10 ast, etc. Its deserving of an award in and of itself and it sucks that there is only one trophy in the end.
Don't forget, MJ was also 35 years old in his last championship run in 1998 when pippen missed the first half of the season and Jordan kept the team which was just role-players without pippen on pace for 59 wins
yeah aight...the "injury" came a few minutes to the end of the game and he didnt have any visible problems. He couldnt do shit against lebron whole game long.
Daniel Lednik that doesn’t really read till the playoffs imo. divisions and conferences make for an easier regular season schedule but i don’t feel it’s marginal enough to decide any of those arguments until playoff matchups
Even the R.O.Y was pretty much ordained to Morant in December, I get it he’s a spectacular player but NBA media should let the season simmer not cook fast and give the young guys a shot to get established
Nobody talking about that, act like Lebron been playing bad the whole year, Lebron has been right behind Giannis the whole year, I swear don’t let the media talk for ppl, the media flip flops tremendously, one minute they love bron next minute they hate him, Giannis is the mvp but Lebron is right there, it could either way, Lebron is average a double, close to a triple double
Cream Pie Master I feel you but we all know the west is a harder conference and Milwaukee was just on a losing streak since Giannis been injured I think Lebron put in the work but either one if them could get it
I mean giannis is going to miss at least 5 to 6 games with an injury in his knee he's also already missed more games then lebron so with this injury idk his chances of MVP might just die down especially if during those times lbj is still putting up numbers
define MVP .. most VALUABLE player .. think about the seasons and think about who’s truly more VALUABLE to their team .. and make another video discussing that thought.
Bro, why I think Bron has an argument is because he’s doing one step ahead of what Giannas is. Like when Bron was in the East, no matter his numbers or the record we said he was in the East. Now he doing it in the West with the better record. Yes Giannas has been dominant but and has a better record, but could he do that if the Bucks were in the West. And some say Bron got AD but Giannas got the better roster and coach
Mainstream Media like ESPN and Bleacher Report just refuse to give small markets like Milwaukee any credit, Really pisses me off to see the lakers get more airtime than more than like half the league combined

This is similar situation in 2011 MVP, Rose had worse team, without any superstar, but had better record, but Lebron had DWade (who is btw in MVP conversation), and Bosh, but still worse record than Bulls. This is pretty much the copy of 2011, but this time, Lebron is much older, and he has one superstar, but also Giannis is older than Rose in 2011
Zeba Lebrun had better number than rose and we saw who the mvp was in the 2012 ECF
except Giannis is putting up as good or better stats than LeBron. Rose was clearly statistically not on Bron's level in 2011. I see the similarity for sure, but its different enough.
@@lakernation26 yeah, we saw it against the Boston in 2012 lol
Killmonger 26 I don’t know what u saw, but I saw rose dominate the heat. Stop it. Bron played great but let’s not act like the heat weren’t superior to the bulls. No matter how well my bulls played, we knew there was no way we had a chance against the heat. The real mvp was STILL rose after the loss.
@@mattyice9535 weak east remember lebron got snubbed for mvps yearly because he was in the east now that he has the best record in the best conference and they are closing in on the best record for the year he should def get it
Exact same thing also happened with Luka and Trae last year. Luka was running away with it then after the all-star break, Trae finally figured it out and people tried their hardest to force Trae into being the ROTY and was disappointed when the clear winner won.
why do people keep bringing up age sense when is age part of being mvp
Slobber Claw I know right.
karl malone won mvp at age 35...so lebron's not the first...

Slobber Claw how is age a part of being the MVP? Why should we be giving extra points just cuz someone is doing better than expected compared to one’s age?
adfadsfas yea because no one gets points for being really young and doing better than a younger player would
Just like what was said in the podcast, I'm not building my franchise around Khris Middleton but I will build my franchise around AD.
It's that simple, Giannis is the MVP unless the Bucks fall off horribly or LeBron averages an efficient triple double.

Adam Hupp how the fuck is the east weak it is so much stronger now then when Lebron played
The MVP race is just as over as the ROTY race. It’s giannis. And it’s Ja. The league can pick whoever, but We all know the truth.
@@lucasbell4831 ya Embiid lost too tho
@@dtc603 I know, but he was heavily considered a frontrunner. If game time mattered as much as some people think it does, Embiid wouldn't have even been in the RotY conversation.
Lucas Bell oh I wouldn’t be surprised if the league gives it to him. I’m just saying unless he plays about 60 games, which is obv impossible, he doesn’t deserve it. It’s rookie of the year not rookie of the 35 games.
Hello There agreed but the problem is the bronsexuals will pretend no one stood a chance he’s forever goat
I got into it with my homie because of this and then when I told him it’s no way LeBron is winning MVP, he tried to change the argument to say “oh well LeBron is still better” when I never disputed that point.
Cardo Huncho Lebron still has a chance to win mvp
Nader Khalfay Only if Giannis misses significant time or comes back from his injury and stinks up the joint. If not, there’s not a chance LeBron wins.

real
U could honestly make a case for Ad mvp
Thank god for your channel! You’re the only unbiased person when it comes to the NBA 💯💯🙏🏾
I’m a huge LeBron fan and even I think Giannis is MVP
IM WEAK🤣🤣🤣 (it might be my terminal bone cancer), but I still laughed
Can anyone give me a clear unbiased reason as to why Steph or KD didn’t get MVP consideration being on the same
Team ?
@Jtbuckets They rightfully shouldn’t have. Just like Lebron and AD being on the same team should disqualify either of them from the conversation.
cause klay was on the team too....
Asmosis Jones so having a stacked team disqualifies you from MVP consideration ?
I knew this was gonna happen when they gave Lebron the POTM over Westbrook 😂
Lebron has one great game against the pelicans and now everyone thinks he should win mvp. I love Lebron but Giannis has been killing it he deserves the back to back
Jose thats false as fuck. It's amazing to me that the east is considered to be more formative once LeBron goes west.
Its when this shit starts happening that I just start counting down the days until the playoffs, this stuff just hurts my head
Past MVPs: Amazing feats of skill, IQ, and athleticism
Giannis: *T A L L*
Everybody's IQ : found. Yours: not found
Some counter points to your view
1 Like or not age 35 and year 17 is a huge factor
2 Giannis was having the best per ever, now he dropped to 6th
3 Bucks were on pace to 70 wins, now they are just 1 game ahead of the Lakers
4 Giannis missed 9 games now and counting, Lebron missed 2
5 Bucks have mostly the same team they had last year, Lakers have an almost completely different team, different coaching staff etc
6 Lebron is playing a different position than he had played his entire career
7 Giannis is playing slightly worse than before
Even after all that, i agree Giannis is the frontrunner, but this is definitely a race for the MVP and Lebron can and i believe he will pass Giannis when the season ends
Sup dom been watch for year keep up the good work.
The ESPN video where they said that LeBron surpassed Giannis in the MVP race is actually not available in my territory (Greece), this is the first time this happens with a video from The Jump, I guess they knew what was about to happen in the comments section
2017 Russ wins over harden , “he has better numbers “
2019 giannis wins over harden “ he was best player on best team “
2020 giannis best player on best team with better numbers .
Lebron played well in 2 games and now the media is drooling over him like he’s been averaging 50 points on the toughest 10 game schedule of all time
My favorite show
This might be your best video yet, nothing but facts
I litterally just can’t even imagine someone other than Giannis winning it this year but it’s so crazy how hard the media pushed for this
I agree the media made a quick jump, but I think this weekend just proves what kind of player Lebron is.. a realization we should’ve had prior to beating Bucks and Clips
Lebron HAS led the league in assists for a while, not just “now”
that's the only thing he's lead for the season throughout the league, let alone his team. not leading his team in points, rebounds, steals, blocks, fg%, 3pt% and per. he's got literally nothing going for him in any mvp talk
SuperBlaze I agree I just wanted to point that out. Giannis is the mvp by far
@@pomnahh this is his first time leading the league in assists (on average). Check the stats again.
Knew this was coming. You seemed a lil heated on the pod 😂
The only thing that happened is that now Giannis won't be unanimous MVP, but there is still a HUGE gap

Ben Bauer he only will miss two games he should be back in the line up tomorrow
Ben Bauer also as the lakers lose to the nets
LILUZIVERT1600 lol losing to the Nets certainly doesn’t help Lebron’s case. Or at this point it’s possible he missed an opportunity to strike while the iron is hot.
Ben Bauer yep why didn’t Lebron just dunk it... that’s what giannis would of done
Ridiculous.
Bring back the case for goat

They were doing just fine until he got injured and when he came back everyone else got hurt.

Bro, why I think Bron has an argument is because he’s doing one step ahead of what Giannas is. Like when Bron was in the East, no matter his numbers or the record we said he was in the East.
