- UPDATE:
I finally fixed the audio for my previous clip. Enjoy!
"Big Tiny" Little performes "The Spaghetti Rag" and "Caledonia" on The Lawrence Welk Show on January 11th, 1958.
What a MAJOR talent! I never expected a voice like that out of a big fella like him! WOW!
What a wonderful talent this guy was! Tiny, JoAnn Castle and Joe "Fingers" Carr were my favorites. Tiny always made it look so easy! Thanks for posting.
Love that style of piano playing. He seems shy. Truly talented and seems like it comes so natural to him.
Met him during one of his final appearances with the Lawrence Welk Orchestra a few years ago. A world class gentleman and, like his successor (JoAnn Castle), a virtuoso with few peers. He is greatly missed.
Mr. Little played in Northern Nevada hotel casino for many years--he continued to work into the 2000's. He was living in Carson City, Nevada when he died on March 3, 2010.
I took up the piano because I saw this genius play at the jazz festival
God bless you Big tiny
Wow! Thanks for uploading this. This is the first time I've heard of Big Tiny Little, so thanks for the introduction. He certainly gave Jerry Lee Lewis a run for his money. It's remarkable that I hadn't heard of him.
Great post!
What a killer player and singer
Ah!!! wunerful Tiny. You will be missed by all. RIP
I don’t know what made me think of him tonight, but he and his daughter stayed with my family in Carson City
WOW!
That is amazing
Wunnerful, wunnerful!
@elton1111 You're welcome! He really was an amazing pianist. When I watched the entire episode (which I can't put up due to copyright reasons) I thought he stole the show!
@saxyreed You're very welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it so much.
You gotta love this guy. Truly a Blues guy. He switched between expressions of pain and awe. Reminds me of the old joke: whats the difference between the Lawrence Welk band and a Rhino? The rhino has the horns in front and the asshole in the back!
The trouble with TH-cam is having to read stupid posts like yours.
So jk, have you grown up any in the last six years?
I love the banjo back up....
no banjo
You woldn't have any clips of Jim Reeves 2 guest appearances on Mr. Welk's show would you. I know one of them was in 1958 but have been unable to find out anything else about them.
The Thundering Left Hand
😊
! !
Yo Man! That cat can play for a white boy!
Biggy Smalls get the idea for his name from this man?
I thought they sped up the film with those fingers. Not
The trouble with You Tube is that some people have NO sense of humor!! Lighten Up!
