This whole interview was a satire completely. They're meant to look pissed off. You can clearly see at 3:32 that Nate Ruess is trying not to laugh. They're acting. I suggest not judging these gentlemen based on a satire and instead watch some real interviews.
The amount of dry humor and sarcasm in this... People automatically think they're weird and awkward. I just call it epic! Pretty much, Steel Train is freaking awesome! Also, maybe put a microphone with the band next time?

I know several people who have met these guys after shows, and they all say the same thing: They are some of the nicest group of guys they've met. And don't give me that "they have to be nice to their fans"; on most cases these guys went out of their way to talk and sign things for the people they encountered. I reiterate: Don't judge them based on a skit.
