Carbon Fiber Mirrors For Your BMW! | First M340i Mod!

- In this video I install a set of M style carbon fiber mirror caps for my 2020 G20 M340i. My stock mirror caps were cerium gray and I got tired of them constantly looking discolored from fingerprints or rain water.
This is technically the first modification I have made to my M340i. It definitely will not be the last.

Actually you don't need to remove the mirror. Those two clips on the inside can be easily accessed by a prying tool (slimmer one). Put your mirror in the lowest possible position and that's it. I've done it on both sides now.

Absolutely. ZERO reason to take the mirrors off. Point the mirrors all the way down. You can use a pick tool, or even a flathead screwdriver, to get the upper tabs pushed up/down.

You unclip top first. Then bottom.

BMW: AHHH. It was too easy to remove the mirror caps on E series.
Design Department: Let's force them remove the glass first
BMW: YES. Then they have to buy replacement glass. Approved.

I know hot to take off the mirror cap but I can’t install on my carbon fiber cap 😅😅😅
Haven't you had a problem with the water leak? My mirrors stopped working after a few months with these non-OEM caps.

Has anyone had any problems with the passenger mirror staying down after going into reverse?
No but I have trouble with it not facing down after putting it in reverse. The issue comes and goes for me

The passenger mirror is supposed to move and tilt down to help you with parallel parking by the curb.

Yeah the B58 and the ZF 8 Speed can handle big power.

I'd say it depends on how much power you want to make or if you live up north where it snows. Mine is RWD and I live down south.
@@VehicularDIY I live in NJ but I think I get get winter tires if something ..its snows maybe 2-5 times ..also with a big turbo and tune you shouldn't use 0w-20 probably 5w-30?
Yeah a heavier weight oil is a good bet once the car is tuned.
