If you don't use discovery with one scout, at least for pitchers in the the central and international, you are missing A potential and 70s overall, anywhere from 18-21 age group. Additionally, you can draft these players in the 3rd and 4th round as other teams haven't always discovered those players.
I never focus on anything accept for pitching. I pick three scouts with the highest Efficiency rating along with Pitchers. Each week I have them all focus on a region with a certain position. For example, my 1st week SP International, 2nd week RP International, 3rd week CP International then the other regions. I don't focus on SP too much just relievers/close which are hard to find in free agency.
@@JacobReid I sign all those low cheap C potential players with ages as young as possible and keep one back up player on the 40 but signing bench players. Later on it's hard after say five seasons.
great tips, cant wait for the draft next season for my Tigers. leaving a comment as a newbie not to go over budget when doing contract extensions around signing week.
@@JacobReid quick question, though, maybe you'll know the answer. When it shows a players projected top end stats in a draft, is it possible for them to develop BEYOND that? Or is that kind of their ultimate ceiling?
Hello. I recently started doing Franchise, and the idea of drafting caught my attention quite deeply. I've been trying to educate myself on the matter on how to scout and draft better. I think your method is fair, but only effective if you have a pick on the first 15 rounds. After few years of rebuild and successful trades, I keep making the Postseason and having one of the last 8 picks on the round. Drafting becomes a pain, because no top prospects are left, only decent RP/CP. Which I've been focusing on and trading to build up on prospects. I am also very active on the deadline. So Discovery has been my to go tool. Not always affective, but it's easier than having to randomly select picks around the 30th pick just to find out they are sub 80 C players. Best case I drafted 4 88+ players 1 90+ and 1 95+ IN ONE CLASS. My question is, how would you draft using your method of the video if you already have a top 8 Franchise? And what method do you think would be more effective for drafting in a successful franchise with the bottom 5 picks every season?
So, to be clear, i should scout 3 players that would feasibly be available around every draft pick? That way, I'd theoretically have 3 choices per pick if all 3 are still available?
@@calebburton3398 that’s a good way to look at it. I tend to give myself a couple extra options in the early round and lay off a bit for later rounds. You can apply that method however you feel it will best work for you
@JacobReid just making sure I can understand it so I can apply this plan. Drafting has been a struggle for me for years. Thanks for the work you do bro 🫡
How do you will do it to get A and B Potential because when it comes to the draft is crazy the other teams get players that suppose to go in 20 30 or 40 pick in the 1st 10 picks of draft. And the draft mostly have C Potential only 2 or 3 B or 2 or 3 A
The strength of the draft class definitely varies from year to year, so it’s possible you’re seeing some worse draft classes. Most classes will still have dozens of B potentials, so you just need to scout those 18 year old players and pick the ones who look to have 80+ potential once scouted
@@juliomendez102 overall definitely matters, but the scouting isn’t very accurate on overall. Most players come in at 50+ overall. I’ve drafted a few late round players who were actually mid 40’s
I’ve never gotten an OP class using discovery. Typically get a 70+ A potential in R1 and then 50’s and 60’s A’s and B’s in every other round. Discovery just feels like a waste of time compared to that
