    I really stress to new players how important honing your strike zone is. You cannot even begin to learn how to time up balls or pefect your PCI placement if you're swinging at a slider 3 feet off the plate. Day 1 I threw starter sandy's slider 2 feet off the plate 30 times in a row to someone and they did not take it once.

      Take pitches you don't like. If it's not a fastball it's gonna drop, that should help you lay off those low ones. Trust me man it takes a lot of abs which is why you should try all this stuff out in casual or run it offline.

    Look at your pitcher/hitter analysis after i game. I literally average about 45-52% takes a game. Once you realize you dont have to hit everything, just what you're waiting for, the whole game truly opens up

    I still have a long way to go and I catch myself swinging at bs I know I shouldnt be swinging at, but yours along with other videos have helped me come along way since getting back into mlb last year. For yall new guys, know not every pitch in the zone is a good pitch to swing on. Step in the box with a game plan. Wait for a specific pitch or wait for a pitch in a specific part of the zone. If youre waiting for a fastball high, dont chase anything low, same thing if youre waiting for a low pitch dont try to chase anything high as youll be late on it every time.

    If you want a simulation, this video won't help. If you are playing on a TV the input will be delayed, if on a PC monitor you will have better success. All-Star is easy on a PC monitor, it won't be a simulation and everyone on the team will hit over 300. Bottom line is you have to be able to pick up the pitch and that is repetition not settings. I still get beat by sliders, especially in stress situations, but there are no settings (other than difficulty) that will help you hit better more than practice with different pitchers in batting practice mode. Even with that there are still parks I cannot pickup the ball on time due to the batter eye and sunlight against it (I think Minnesota is one). If you want to hit better, practice on a harder level than you play (unless you are on legend) and realize that you will have good days and bad, just like the pros.

    I’m newish to the game, played since day 1 ea and I got better , with all tips I got on the way, I hit okish at best, I watch this vid and was really good, I liked it a lot. I’m just wondering, for example if it goes down exactly in the corner, on the black, how you know the ball is going out or is on the edge. This is my biggest issue, should I swing or let it pass. Sometimes I swing , the ball goes too low, sometimes I swing and the ball goes just in, cheese all the way. How to distinct cheese from a ball that’s off, that’s the biggest problem, together with recognizing the pitch and even if I recognize, how I react to it, how I react to certain pitches. Do I wait ? Do I move my pci. You so good that I sometimes barely could see what you did sometimes, it’s so fast and I was trying while watching and you hitting to guess where it was going, and I was many time just off. Anyways , the vid was very good. I’m going to watch it again now, cause I like how you explain, just a bit fast sometimes cause you play extremely well

    • @ithomas7788
      @ithomas7788 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Basically discernment of where a ball is going to go is done the same as in real life, with practice.
      The best tip I can probably offer you, while strike zone view helps, it to go into custom practice. Go to legend difficulty and do not swing at ANYTHING.tge pitches will be extremely fast coming in and what you are going to want to do is try to guess if it's a ball or a strike. Do that for like 10 mins a day and you will eventually get fairly reliable at it so when you are playing on difficulty below legend it will be a breeze to see it almost instantly

      @@ithomas7788 thnx I’ve been doing this and it did get a bit better. The real though ones are still the slurves in the ground and other stuff that go down. Its so hard to see if it goes in. On top online has like a hickup sometimes when I’m about to hit, but I’ve not played that much online. so yeah if I’It’s been a struggle, I’ve hit 4 homers in a game, than to totaly don’t feel it next game. It’s so frustrating at times lol, but I have fun. And flyballs, I hit so much flyballs, it’s ugly. I do follow up to all tips, so will keep doing this

    • @ithomas7788
      @ithomas7788 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I should mention. One final tip.
      Do not, under any circumstances swing at pitches on the black 99% of the time unless you are on 2 strikes. If they want to paint corners let them try to be perfect with it. If you swing at stuff that's hard to hit for free your more liable to ground out or pop up because of pci adjustment.
      What I recommend strongly is set your pci in an area. 1st pitch look for something close to that spot. If it's not, don't swing at it.
      After 1 strike, open it up a little bit to middle zones.
      After 2nd strike expand to the full box and swing at anything close. Ideally you will make some kind of contact be it a foul or not and eventually you will either go down swinging or get a pitch to hit/walked.

    • @ithomas7788
      @ithomas7788 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@SuperCesarlopes the simple solution is to like I said in my last comment and just not swing at it. Unless they are literally perfect there will be times when it's hittable and you just got to wait for those.
      My tips come from real baseball experience which, while different l, can still be made useable.
      What 99% of people struggle doing is coming up with a consistent plate approach and sticking with it

      Hands and feet. If you feel weird with a certain player its probably because you aren't picking up cues from his hands or feet well. Some players are heavily disliked for how poor or distracting the cues are i.e. huge leg kick, Being an absolute statue until the ball comes, hunched over etc. A lot of the old timer players, Babe Ruth, Lou Gherig, etc. have a hand wind up, its a cue you're responding to wether you're conscious of it or not. Every player in the game is going to time the ball up for you, but your ability to feel comfortable with those cues will determine if you're timing up pitches well or not. If you're newer, try not to discriminate a players swing to much, over the year as you bat with more cards, you'll likely develop preferences with certain players.

      I've also uninstalled the controller firmware through the Xbox and that seems to work (Elite 2). I've also heard you could do a wired connection to the Xbox to fix the issue. This has been an issue since the game came to Xbox. Still don't understand why it hasn't been fixed, because it's a HUGE difference.
