- Mini review of the TTArtisan 28mm viewfinder for the Ricoh GR. What's great about this one is that it is only $40, but full metal body and glass optics. Much cheaper than the official Ricoh one, but also much nicer than the $15 plastic ones offered before.

Please stop making me pay more than I had planned :D
I’m using the sigma vf-11 and it also works well.
You should try the original Ricoh GRD it’s an awesome camera
I love the white grd iv. Whish the gr came in more colours also. But I got the diary edition which is lighter at least lol
@@navi6463got the grd4 white too😊
but mine tends to turn off when knocked 😅😅
The original film GR1 is on my bucket list
definitely a great camera, the in-camera black and white mode is the closest thing you're gonna get digitally to a tri-x film look. I regret selling mine ages ago.
I use the Ricoh viewfinder with my GRIIIx. A very expensive piece of plastic. Good to see there are other options.
I like that the flash is almost as big as the entire camera, haha
Yes. I love my original GR. But as a Fuji shooter, how can I make the colors warmer. ??
I bought one that is labelled for the 21mm version, and when i put my eye up to it, the picture matches the viewfinder image, but it also works very nicely with the 28mm field of view. I don't see any framelines tho. At the same time, it has the rubber ring built into the viewfinder, so maybe they updated the design after this video came out?
Interesting. Any diopter needed?
is it safety/ compatible sofar that you use viewfinder TT artisan to your ricoh??
Does it scratch up your glasses? I've had the happen with metal viewfinders..
No, thankfully. There's a rubber ring around the back (the one that I mentioned comes off easily if rubbed against something, like in a tight pocket). So haven't had any scratching issues.
This viewfinder does not have grid lines right?
Correct, no grid lines
Great camera, but too many options for me, and I could never get the focus to work when I set it for street photography, those specific zones would never be in focus. And honestly, I need to look through the lens, I don't like the lcd for framing, especially here in Arizona, too sunny.
You need to be at f/8 for it to work.
the GRII is one of my favorite digital cameras ever... being able to easily shoot one handed is just great! The only complaint i have about the GR series is that the ISO Noise is kinda bad... anything over ISO 800 really quickly falls apart
GRII has 16 Mpx sensor. I guess this is same sensor with sony nex camera series Nex5N, 5R, C3... DXO mark rate iso 1100. It's better than 60D,70D, ...
How you set exposure / ISO / shutter speed / aperture? You need at least info display inside of VF (like in DSLRs)
Are there internal frame lines or any parallax correction mechanisms???
Hi, In your opinion, is 21mm or 28mm suitable for Ricoh GR 3?
contax made 21mm equviv to pair with their 21mm 2.8 for contax g
Are there 50mm viewfinder? I don't like digital viewfinders in modern small cameras.
Does it come with cold shoe mount also?
Is there a version for the Rico GR IIIx
The existence of the 21mm finder makes me wish the Sony ZV-1f was a camera that was remotely worth getting. If they had RAW support like most of Sony’s large sensor compacts, the digital zoom rocker was customizable, and there was phase and not just contrast AF, it’d be tempting. There isn’t any other compact with a lens as wide, and while IQ wouldn’t match a Ricoh GR, 1” sensors aren’t unusable and it’s also half the price. Sticking a cold shoe viewfinder on like the TTA 21mm would be a nifty little kit. Alas, Sony hobbled it for photography.
Trying to find info on the magnification on the 28mm vf. Do you know?
And also if the ratio is more 4:3 than 3:2. So it seems with Ricohs own viewfinders.
I'm not sure what the magnification is. The ratio is more 3:2. I just recently picked up the GV-1 from Ricoh and it is much nicer - bright, nice frame lines, just way more expensive obviously. This is a nice upgrade though from the cheap plastic ones and I think makes a good budget option. Hope that helps.
I think it destroys the main strengths of these cameras: ease of carry, pocketability and how quickly they can be whipped out and ready to go.
I just wish the transferring from camera to phone to be better.
Does that not aim very slightly too high?
Ricoh GR vs Sony a5100?
I really dont use the viewfinder that i have for my ricoh griii
is it accurate?
Does the viewfinder zoom in and out along with the lens?
No, it's completely manual and not coupled with the lens.
So it’s a 28mm viewfinder equivalent?
Yes. they have a 21mm option as well. No 40mm option as of yet.
Actually a lot of smartphones have 1 inch sensor
That's not how big an apsc sensor is
Cult classic? This camera came out in 2018. Not old at all. 😮
2013, but maybe your point still stands
What's the point of the viewfinder if it doesn't help you see what the lens is seeing. Dumb waste of 40 dollars
Well there's those old viewfinders from the film days still around.
Most of those cost $200-$600, so not even close in price.
@@andrewsmithphoto dude if you want cheap TTArtisan sells $50 viewfinders. What you think they're gonna be $5 or something?
@@andrewsmithphoto What I meant by mentioning the old ones, is really finding old film camera's where you can get a lens and viewfinder practically free from buying a lot.
@@andrewsmithphoto old school Canon viewfinder for $100
@@andrewsmithphoto I just spent all of 5min on eBay and found plenty between $40-$100. The ones around $200 are mint, look like they never been used before. Inflation has gone up 218% since the 80s, what do expect?
can you see the focus? Or is it just fixed
it's fixed. If you want to see focus, you need a rangefinder camera.
why do youtube gear shillers always ruin the gr3 by adding a ton of dumb accessories to it? o right, to sell affiliate links
You don't like viewfinders?
It's bigger than a camera, hell no
Maybe do your homework on how large an APS - C sensor is.
