If you can’t find them you could use round wooden dowels. Sand it down on one end to form the tip of the wand.
What kind of sticks did u use?
I used bamboo chopsticks (14 inches). You can find the lists of materials used in the description box of this video.

I got those from Walmart (Canada). If you can’t find them, you could use a regular wooden dowel and sand one end to shape it.
What is use of satin vanish?
Satin varnish is a type of finish. It protects the paint and adds a slight sheen without being glossy.
