You can also remove the earpads by pulling on the ledge on the upper rear inside of the headphone. There you can grab the earpads without the danger of damaging the cover material with your fingernails. This is also stated in the Manual for the Momentum 4s on Page 38: Care and Maintenance. Btw. Love the new pads already after barely a day of using them.

Heya got my momentum 4 in july last year and i absolutely love them in terms of sound! The pads feel alittle wierd to me tho! They have a tendancy to move around on my head sometimes and they also feel a bit wierdly shaped. Dont get me wrong the material is super comfy, the thing that feels so wierd to me tho is that instead of just sitting in the pad they have kind of a pocket so that the ears sit under the pad which by itself isnt bad but its not snug so the ears move alot inside the pad even tho i have large ears, i cant adjust them tighter either because then the top of the ear presses hard agains the top of them… How does your pads compare in design and comfort? Also in what ways does the sound signature change? Both pros and cons?

i ordered them thinking it's going to be way more comfy, but they irritate my ears from every way possible, yes there is more cushion but at what cost. It's worse than before...
Just got these, and with ALL DUE RESPECT.... they are horrible. -comfort , yeah you guys nailed it.. -but as far as changing the sound, its a significant change. Takes the signature Sennheiser sound from the headphone. Also, kills the ANC. unusable. -quality control is iffy as well, what's with the seams and the foam part isn't aligned right.
