  • If I told you about my abilities, you'd probably shake your head and laugh. It’s not something that’s usually talked about-certainly not in the way I experience it. You see, being dyslexic isn’t just about struggling with words. For me, it’s like my brain is constantly rewiring itself, rearranging the puzzle pieces of the world in a way that most people can’t even imagine.
I often get asked, "What’s it like being dyslexic?" And while most people picture someone with trouble reading or writing, for me, it’s so much more. Words twist, bend, and dance on the page, but that’s only half of it. The other half is how my mind compensates, how it takes these challenges and turns them into something almost magical.
I might read a word and have it look completely different from how you see it. But that’s where the magic happens. Because my brain doesn’t just stop at the word on the page. It jumps to images, to feelings, to connections that others wouldn’t even think to make. I see patterns where there shouldn’t be any, and sometimes that leads to incredible insights. I might not remember a word, but I’ll remember the feeling I had when I first read it, or I’ll connect it to something completely unrelated that sparks a whole new idea.
