    for my 40th birthday, my wife arranged for me to test ride about 6 Harleys. I love the breakout so much, I'm flying to AZ this weekend to buy one and will ride the 1,000 miles back to CO. definately looking forward to that! Great review

    Great review as ever. You speak a lot of sense. I had a 48 (2015 model) and you helped me in choosing a 2017 breakout (I've had for 3 weeks now and is truly awesome, love it!). Keep test riding and if you're ever in the Midlands, let's have a run out! \m/

    I totally concur with you - that is one sexy beast. It's amazing how that long fork and 21 inch wheel (along with a few other tidbits) totally change what is basically a Deluxe into the Jenna Jameson of cruisers.
    Thanks for the review. Cheers, Dario

    I own a 2016 Breakout, and i absolutely love this bike. i have a sage 1 upgrade on it. The one thing i don't like is the mirrors, so i have to shop for some after market mirrors. Also the other thing your gonna want to change is the headlight. I replaced mine with a daymaker headlight.

    Always fascinating to see you guys over there appreciating our tractors lol. I own a 2016 VROD muscle but I really wouldn't mind a cvo breakout I just wished it could manage the same acceleration of the VROD which it doesn't quite measure up to. It's a gorgeous bike with the right kind of exhaust note coming out Unlike the V Rod. Anyways outstanding review thanks very much

  • @JamesErdt
    @JamesErdt 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Excellent brother. THANK YOU!! Taking it down those backroads did it for me.... debating between a VROD / VROD Muscle and the Breakout and I think you may just have convinced me with this 10 out of 10 vid. I've had 3 disc spinal herniation surgeries so the VRODS may not be a good fit... Please correct me if I'm wrong comfortwise and new-rider-wise. Even leaning towards the Stage 1 now... Sounds oh sooooooo sweet! The hair was standing on my arms watching your vid when you opened er up and that's usually a pretty good sign!! haha! Happy riding! Peace >>>>

    Great video, your enthusiasm shines every time! I LOVE this bike and that is my problem, The first ever Harley I jumped on was a Fatbob 2015 loved it! But looks wise Breakout wins! Just need to test a Breakout myself. I'm no racer any more and feel it's more about cruise and enjoy, engine sound and just full of character!
    One thing! You needed to go round a few roundabouts.

    • @Motonewbrider
      @Motonewbrider  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Gary, totally spot on I feel the Breakout is an awesome cruiser... I just couldn't grasp the counter balance situation. It doesn't seem right.
      With the roundabouts your completely right, I had 4 filmed in total however my footage was over 45 mins so this had to come out.
      Overall the roundabouts were ok, however the lean angle is not great so you need to take it easy as you saw on my only roundabout I made on the vlog.
      Thanks for the support buddy :)

      @Motonewbrider  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Justin Maher thanks mate appreciate the kind words... it's a tough one, aesthetically I prefer the breakout but ride ability the V-Rod is much better... I would choose the ride factor over looks all the time..

  • @samuraidarryl
    @samuraidarryl 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great vid. Did notice your effort with bends etc tho. From my understanding the Breakout is one of the "worst" handling HD's (don't think for a moment I'm putting it down) and I hadn't heard of the out of line issue. Additionally I believe the Fat Bob and Lowrider are two of the best. I am yet to ride a Breakout and it will be interesting when I do. I ride a Fat Bob and it handles a dream.
    Drag bars appeal to me so it will be an interesting ride to compare to my ride. So similar but so different with the increased trail and the narrower front wheel compared to the Fat Bob.
    Thanks for a great review. And would have loved to see you tackle roundabouts. Ride on

    • @Motonewbrider
      @Motonewbrider  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a tough one to handle on right turn manoeuvres... I managed to film four roundabout turns however I had to take three out to get all the footage under 15 mins.... What I can say is that you need to take it easy on the turn, you scrape the pegs very easy and coupled with the counterbalance its a tough one to handle.
      I completely agree with your thoughts on the Fat Bob, that bike is a beast, I absolutely loved it. I'm testing the Low Rider S next so I can't wait.
      Thanks for the support!

    • @Motonewbrider
      @Motonewbrider  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In all honesty mate - NO. The sportster is such a fun bike to ride and that's why I love it. I felt with the Breakout it is more for long straight motorways and this is not my bag.
      I can fully appreciate the Breakout but it's not for me.

    • @alexhd9835

      Thank you)! I feel the same exactly). Can't convince myself to choose another bike over my Sporty), so much FUN)! And i can do long enough trips with the passenger making stops every 100miles or so. Thank you for the review again, like the overall look of the BO). Subscribed to your channel)!

    I took a Breakout for a test yesterday at Guildford and whilst I love the looks I found the seating position uncomfortable after about 10 minutes. Maybe it is less suitable for taller riders (I am 6' 2"). Good review anyway.

      I have a 2017 BreakOut and I'm 6'1. I put 2" Cycle Visons Forward control extensions on. No need to mess with the brake line. It fits good now. If you get the 3" extensions, you'll need to get a longer brake line and bleed the brake.

    Good review and a stunning looking bike. But, wheels out line? What? Why?
    Also, you said you could see nothing in the mirrors, yet you didn't seem to be doing any shoulder checks before overtakes or turns.... Be safe!

    • @Motonewbrider
      @Motonewbrider  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 240 vs the 130 at the front creates a shift too the right at the rear which intern makes the bike pull too the right.... I edited quite a bit of footage out with my shoulder checks as I usually check too much so I don't show it in the footage.... Not making excuses promise.

    The wheels aren't in line??

    • @Motonewbrider
      @Motonewbrider  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, really odd.Essentially the 240 at the rear sets itself over to the left hand side which is off set to the front which makes the bike pull to the left...

    • @brizi2003
      @brizi2003 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I tried the Breakout and didn't notice it pulling to the left but did think it steered more easily left than it did when going right e.g. roundabouts. You simply can't corner quickly without something grounding so you have to slow down more than normal for the corners. Are you sure the wheels aren't in line though? That doesn't sound right to me? I've also ridden the Wide Glide and would say it corners much better but the Breakout defo looks the business!

    @vinm300 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Very good video and a good review : your presentation is good.
    But the bike (and Harley in general) are quite incredible.
    Who would make a bike that pulls to the left ?
    And what sort of idiot would buy it ?
    Well the answer is a Harley fanatic. Most bikers are left shaking their heads in disbelief.

    • @twowheelsandtattoos3012
      @twowheelsandtattoos3012 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Truth of this is that the tracking tension was off it was not a built with that trait, other breakouts do not have this issue which is an easy fix

    • @vinm300
      @vinm300 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@twowheelsandtattoos3012 It appears you are correct, but a quick search reveals....
      "My concern is, why does this appear to be such a common issue raised by so many people on all the forums? "
      It appears many Harley riders suffer the same problem.
      And the Harley Dealership in this video warns riders to expect it to pull to the left.

    • @twowheelsandtattoos3012
      @twowheelsandtattoos3012 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@vinm300 honestly the answer is laziness on the part of techs to not fine tune machines even something as simple as a five minute tension change. While these machines have great build quality the human side of details often seems to be lacking, I just bought a brand new 2021 and the rear brake linkage didn’t have a pin in it from the factory ten minutes to fix that should have been checked on receiving the bike. But we are all humans and miss details so no hard feelings I just grabbed a pin and fixed it
