Kids are very legit. I don't know why many people underestimate them ( not saying you are, just pointing that out). Think about a child blue belt and an adult blue belt for a second here. The highest belt in the kid's ranking system is green do to age restrictions. If you take a 5 year old and put them in BJJ and have them train consistently, they could reach green belt as early as 13/14 years old. That's roughly 8-9 years of mat time despite being a child. From then on, they get their blue belt at 16 or even 15 years old if they are a standout. Then look at an adult who has no grappling experience and starts BJJ at some point. It usually takes 1-2 years to get a blue belt as an adult. Now make an adult blue belt who has 2 years of experience at the most, fight a child blue belt who has almost an entire decade of experience. Who do you think is going to win?

Example AOJ academy is coached by the Mendes brothers, they won't bring some normal blue belt to berkut, they will bring their best blue belt who probably can beat purple belts or even browns and blacks to represent their academy/dojo for that belt division. It becomes a "hey my bluebelt can beat your bluebelt" competition.
Todo esporte se adapta às regras. Mude as regras do BJJ e ele muda também. Antes era até finalizar, agora tudo vale ponto dentro de um tempo, e o cara não vai perder isso. Mas esses mulekes ai são péssimos, e não obedecer o técnico é a prova de que estão perdidos na luta.
