@MrJdfitz77 Okay, to be fair, Goldfingers' first album is my favorite album by them. But notice how I didn't call it punk. I called it ska, and it has more of a pop punk sound to it, but never the less, it's a good song, so their is really no need to gatekeep it.
@@benh-d8733 Semantics dude…. Calling it “ska” vs calling it “punk” blah blah blah The auto tuning is horrific And Goldfinger was never a “ska” band anyways… they did some- SOME- songs that could be considered “ska punk” But regardless, this song was a bad choice to remake to begin with, and the auto tune killed any chance at all of it even being a “decent” cover Sounds like crap

“OPEN YOUR EYES” and “Hello Rockview” are my youth. Even though I didn't understand English very well, he took me into the world of ska-punk. They're the best bands. I'm so happy that I don't know how to express it! It will give you the strength to live! With love from japan.
I was so very fortunate and lucky in 1999 to see both Goldfinger and Less Than Jake live in Dallas, TX, at a venue called Deep Ellum Live (on Canton St) the best single show I ever saw... and as a bonus, Bowling For Soup was the opening band. The fact these two bands are still together and making a song is incredible... Thank you to both bands for making this happen for us fans
Okay, hear me out. Do another one, but this time with Mike and Roger as singers! And lastly a third song where John, Mike, Chris and Roger do the most epic harmonies we could imagine ❤❤❤️

I had no clue this existed until 6:00 this morning listening to faction punk. I'll admit the post Malone song is catchy. That's a hard thing to admit to be honest, but this version is so damn catchy. Well played absolutely well played. Cheers from the East Coast boys!
I can't tell if they are being sarcastic or cheeky. like, "look where I am now, couldn't have gotten here without you" or "I'm extra messed up because you enabled me"
I have since listened to the original and it's not bad, but I'm still agreeing with you. This increase in tempo and drum improved it a lot! I really like it!
Greetings from Austria, we have 2 huge festivals i would love to see you: Novarock and FM4 Frequency! The german speaking nations never forgot how epic 2000s Bands are!
Yeah it's been noticeable before, but this time it was quite bad to be honest. Less pitch correction/auto tune next time for sure, it sounds way better even if it's not perfectly pitched.
@@Zogun_85 Yeah, the reverb on the knives album kinda covered it up. But this time it just seems worse than before. I guessing John can't hit those notes anymore. To be fair neither can Chris or Roger from Less than Jake, But they don't ever try to cover it up. Give us your raw voice John! If Chris can do it with all his pops and cracks you can still too!
I feel like post has heavy pitch correction. Maybe not as much I guess as John. Still sounds good. Chris sounds more like a harmonizer. Can you confirm this please Mr John?

@HattieJosh what Wallen quote can you reference to substantiate that claim? Some who feel the need to gatekeep and promote division would say that playing to that large an audience isn't very punk rock either, but who cares if you like the tunes.
This ska cover of a country song is amazing! Goldfinger and Less Than Jake nailed this collaboration!

Was at that show and somehow managed to get onto the tour bus with Goldfinger. It was short lived, but a core memory for sure.
Saw that same tour in Cincinnati
The 4-6 BPM added tempo and the switch from Country to Ska, really makes this a flat out bang - Never change lads, keep blasting them horns!
Goldfinger and less than jake just dropped the best coffee commercial of all time.
Whoa this came out of nowhere, I love it!

Without the damned pitch correction.
@@suemiller2522 yeah, 100% agree. It was way too aggressively applied

By far one of my favorite covers this song has produced.
I feel in love with you guys all over again during 2020. Keep on rockin!

Feldman gives me hope that I'll still be punk rock on my way to 60.
The punk rocker in you only dies if you let it
Please please do a full album of genre swap covers. That’s what this world needs now. More Goldfinger & Less Than Jake collabs
Two legendary bands who made up alot of my early experience of badass music.. And they're collabing? Damn good stuff
A Team Up of Two of My Favorite Bands? Holy Sh@t.

@TonyMontana-lh5bp I meant that Ska fest was happening but yeah that's a good reason.
From someone who looks older all the time, but feels younger in his mind, just let it go grey my guy, you've earned it!
Why does this feel like it would fit on a country station
TIL it's a cover of a Post Malone country song (w/ Morgan Wallen). Explains the autotune.
@@VegasCoaster ah okay, I feel better about it as a whole then
@VegasCoaster what a relief. This song fucking blows. I was afraid they'd lost their mojo
That was my first thought as well 😂
I thought the same thing. If it wasn’t for the horn section, it would be a country tune. Nice cameo by Jonny Christmas from RBF!
These are the collabs we need!!!! 2 of my fave ska/punk bands
Wow, theres a decent amount of autotune on the quarantine series and Never Look Back, but its never been this bad, John sounds like AI.

Bro I’ve seen Goldfinger twice live and still would to see them again, I’ve been to so many concerts now and Goldfinger still stands on my top 5
I met them at a Bad Religion show when I was 15. They were the coolest guys you'd ever meet.
Those horns sound amazing!
this was not on my bingo card but i like all 4 artists that are involved with this and the original so i appreciate it
I LOVE IT!!!! So a joint tour to the UK late 24 or early 25 right? You know we're the best fans! We'll even sing the brass parts!
I’ve seen Goldfinger and less than Jake probably 10 times each. I wish I could see em 10 more times. So damn good
Lovely stuff. Goldfinger + LTJ = Dreamteam ❤
I can't tell if they are being sarcastic or cheeky.
like, "look where I am now, couldn't have gotten here without you" or "I'm extra messed up because you enabled me"
It's a cover of a song made by a sell out and a racist. You have to question those two
I mean, all you have to do is listen to the lyrics. Lol
You got me hitting the like button before I heard the song!
never even listened to the original but i know this version is better. such a banger! hope to see ya at skanksgiving in jersey this year!
I have to say the original is actually pretty good. I like them both but I agree this one is the better of the two.
I have since listened to the original and it's not bad, but I'm still agreeing with you. This increase in tempo and drum improved it a lot! I really like it!
Love that you have your 2024 summer tour footage in there, Denver and Orlando for sure.

Not expecting this but glad it happened!!!
This is pretty dope cover 🙏🤘💪
I liked this song one of the few playing on the radio. But now Goldfinger just made it even better.

The pitch correction is less noticeable on Chris. For the last few albums John's pitch correction almost seems robotic

Definitely better than the original. I love Post and Morgan, but much better as a ska punk/rock song than a pop country hit.
