I remember watching this series 3 years ago. It was very interesting and sad at same time. Thomas Shelby is the goat in this series.

The Peaky Blinders have Birmingham accents. Birmingham is a city in the West Midlands in England. A long way north of London.
The barmaid is from the south of Ireland, she has a soft accent, the Chief Inspector is from the north of Ireland, a much harsher accent. Hope that's helpful xx

This season is set in Birmingham, England but the Shelby family is of Irish decent so you guys are actually pretty spot on.
I feel like this was his best role because cillian and tommy are the same personality wise. Very chill, quiet, and nonchalant. It must’ve been a breeze playing tommy shelby
the Shelby's are mostly Irish descent but were born and raised in Birmingham, England, which is known for it's thick accent. It's definitely different from an Irish accent but with so many full Irish accents in the same show I can see it being confusing for anyone outside the UK :') you'll get used to the different accents soon! it's all part of Britain too, Ireland and England, the accent you said sounded most British is just a posh London accent haha. we have a lot for such a small couple of islands.
Respectfully you are so wrong. Surely being from here you know that Ireland is not ‘part of Britain’.
The Shelby’s have Irish-Romani descent however throughout the show only claim the Romani side and all have Birmingham/Brummie accents also at the beginning of the show it flashes up saying Birmingham England so it shouldn’t be confusing 😂
@@TP017 k. I'm Mancunian. and I know northern ireland is. and yes they are also Romani. I'm just trying to explain it as simply as I can for two people who clearly don't know much about it. ciao now.

@@bzaaribzaari if anything you made it worse by not correcting them and saying simply no they are Birmingham accents they are English and there is no such thing as a ‘British’ accent as it’s a clusterfuck of a whole different places and you move 50miles in any direction in the uk normally they have a different accent, instead of agreeing. Peaky blinders is set in Birmingham City which is in The Midlands of England. Some of the characters are from travelling backgrounds which come from Ireland. Some of the characters are also from island in the series, you’ll catch on later.

Thry have birmingham accents, what ypu are used to hear is the accent from london. Every coubtry has different accents depending what states, provinces, regions you know. Somebody from new york doesn't speak the same way as someone from louisiana

Theyre not Irish, dont try to look into it too hard. There are gonna be several English accents and theyre all gonna sound a little different from one another, but if youre not used to these accents they blend together to you and they become hard to differentiate. But no, all the Shelby family is English, so is Fredddie and Major Campbell, Grace however IS Irish 🙌🏻

Being a tunneler during the first world war was one of the worst jobs you could have. Being stuck underground with no air, claustrophobia, and the anxiety of the whole tunnel suddenly collapsing.

peaky blinders is a great watch and surely a journey y'all are gonna enjoy! Cillian Murphy is a top notch actor with roles in Dunkirk and most memorable (in my opinion) Oppenheimer! and its funny you IMMEDIATELY touch on the production because its handled so well, at every point in the show you really feel like you're experiencing life in their age.

This show is great. Very confusing sometimes with all the 1800s slang and random timeskips between episodes but still pretty good most of the time

The dialogue in this show is so well written, and missing even a line or two can really hinder your enjoyment n understanding - I know you have to commentate but try to really pay attention to what ppl say. Or rather, how they say it.
