@@lil_woody_420 agreed, however my main point was that it's pretty much impossible to see possibilities that lie outside of your own time. Its the same myopia that led Orville to disbelieve engines would ever improve enough to allow for transcontinental flight. If you believe technological progress will continue into at least the near future, then you have to back our eventually solving the issues of interstellar, and probably also intergalactic, travel. If massive objects truly can't ever travel superlumenally then some new physics will achieve the goal by a different means. It seems impossible only because we can't conceive of it now, yet when we manage it (whatever *it* is), it will appear to have always been most obvious.

You can accelerate close to the speed of light with feeling no Acceleration. You can go from 0% to 99% in a millisecond and you wouldn't feel a thing.
This would get you from earth to Mars faster than driving to your closest Supermarkt, probably.
If we build a Orion type ship, we would be limited to accelerating and decelerating at 1G so a trip, if we accelerate for 1/2 the duration and decelerate for the last half would still take days or weeks.

Question though, is there a speed limit for em fields? As far as I can recall magnetic fields have no mass yet are energy, no?
What reason is there to believe that time dilation cannot be achieved using high speed rotating magnetic fields?
If two magnetic fields rotating in opposition where one was encapsulated by the other, (given sources of both were sufficiently powerful enough to negate field disruption from the other or destruction of source) could the relative speed of either field be perceived to reach c? Each field rotating at half c in respect to its orientation would cause the effective relative speed to each other to be c, no?

"Accelerating anything with mass to the speed of light, let alone beyond, requires an infinite amount of energy. This would be true for any warp engine design and is a physical impossibility that cannot be achieved."
But that's not true. Were this true, the entire point of having a warp drive would be lost. The point of warping the space-time continuum to begin with is so as to achieve relativistic "superluminal" speeds WITHOUT having to attempt doing so in normal space for the very reason you state: nothing with mass can attain, much less surpass, light speed.
Warping the space-time continuum permits us to create a "shortcut" through space by decreasing time and space (distance) via the warp... such that the ship, itself, relativistically travels faster than light without ever actually attaining anywhere near light speed in normal space... thus, sidestepping the whole nothing-with-mass-can-attain-light-speed dilemma. That's the entire point to the warp drive in the first place!

I don't think that the "death star" ship will be that practical, because it may help those on the ship to reach far distances in shorter time, in their perspective, however for those outside of the ship the trip takes a long time causing a big time difference, which will not be nice(going for 20 months and coming back to see those who where with you 20 years older).
Plus these trips to other planets would most probably be for exploration with the headquarters being on earth and so for them this ship makes no difference in the duration of the trip.

I partly agree with you. Suppose you have a ship moving at 0.5C to another star and it will reach the star in ten years. Then, a question one may ask is by how much older do we want the passengers to be when they get there, as indeed choosing how massive is the ship can make a huge difference. And there you are, travelling to another star and choosing between being 10 years older upon arrival or a few weeks older. This is all, of course, while having in mind that creating massive warp drives is hard.

If this ship built to be spherical and assumed hallow, at the inside surface the person would be crushed and in the most neutral position in the center the person would be pulled apart in all directions and splat against the wall.
Given that those obstacles can be overcome, the symbol mass of the ship would disturb orbits of planets, moons, stars, asteroid belts and comets sending the Galaxy into chaos.

First, we have recall that mass and energy are the same thing, call it mass-energy. Negative mass would be mass whose weight was a negative number, say, something that weighed less than zero, like --42 pounds. Negative energy would be what you got if you converted that to energy.

Possibility is the only nessesity required for humanity to be able to set a goal to strive for and then hopefully eventually reach than exceed it.
We had to walk before we drove we had to drive before we flew we had to fly before we left our world.
What will the next step in humanity's progression to interplanetary travel be ?

So the trip will take about 9 earth years but they will experience 9 months inside... My question being.. Will they age biologically 9 years or 10 months?
I understand very well the physics behind time dilation but somehow I don't belive the biology obeys the same time dilation rules. I think, biologically, 10 year are 10 years for everybody. Only if molecules of our body function much slower around gravitacional pulls. Of course I could point out the Interstellar movie but somehow I refuse to thing biology obeis time dilation. I think time dilation only applies to space fields and not human body. It's just a way to compare our earth time with different gravitational fields. Is there a research that proofs other vise? The whole idea of warp drive is to use the warping of space to provide the actual movement, not just detach the ship from the outside space time. By standard Einstein physics, gravity is simply the warping of space time. However, it has a significant acceleration effect on anything around it. It follows then that if you create a warp in the fabric of space time, you create an area of acceleration around it, either toward or away from the warp, depending on the type of the warping. In this way, you don't NEED to provide any standard "propulsion" since the warp itself provides the acceleration effect, indefinitely (well as long as you can keep the warp happening). In this model, of course, you don't have the "flat" space time area under your ship. Rather you've created a Sloped space time in the desired direction of travel. Preferably not too sloped or you have too much gravitational stress on the ship and passengers.. Which brings us to the next point:
A "neutron dense" ship where the passengers are under such a large gravitational effect is useless since the human body would not be able to survive under such a large gravitational force. Also, while reducing the experienced time of travel may be good for the passengers, it does little for actual space exploration or colonization. Resupply times and actual expansion times still become too large to be useful.

Perhaps not. The outer hull could be made of such material. But the inside would be a hollow, relatively speaking, sphere. At certain points in the sphere the gravity generated by the far side of the sphere would cancel out a lot of the gravity of the near side. In other words unlike standing on a planet where all of it's gravitational mass was pulling on you in one general direction, the gravitational mass of this ship would be pulling on you from many different directions, half of which would be the opposite directions.

You can enter without being crushed or spaghetified so long as you don’t hit the surface and so long as the gradient of the gravitational field (effectively, how curved the space is) is not too large. The former is easy. Just put a hole in the side of the ship and go through that. The latter is a bit harder to accomplish and will require that the ship be massive, but we are already working on that assumption. Thus both are possible. You should be able to enter with no fear of being crushed or stretched to death by the gravitational pull of the ship.
