This awards show doesn’t matter much at all to the awards season as a whole, but it’s the first one up, so still fun to look at. I think the one thing we can take away from this that’s relevant to other ceremonies is that Yuriy Borisov is the biggest Supporting contender for Anora.
the gothams are good for concretely confirming what we were all 99% sure about, like anora’s staying power in the awards race (and as a very likely frontrunner). nickel boys getting some recognition also confirms it’s potential for picture and director at the oscars
I saw The Room Next Door yesterday. I think it’s pretty great. It may be quite easy to overlook Moore and Swinton’s work in it, in a way, actually because it’s so flawless.
I’m so happy Justice Smith got in somewhere even if it’s low stakes, and honestly I’m hoping they give it to him like they did with Charles Melton, one of if not the finest performance of the year that ultimately got shut out from the Oscars (and like half of the precursors)
I have a lot of fun with these critic groups like NY and LA critics plus indie spirit because they align more with my sensibilities and I don't need to be in oscar brain mode to enjoy them
Between the Temples is worth seeing, though it's not really an awards player outside of some Indie Spirit noms. But it is a deeply independent piece of American filmmaking along the lines of The Daytrippers, Pieces of April, even some Cassavetes films. The cast is great, full of faces you always want to see more of and the final dinner sequence is irresistible. Would love to see Carol Kane get an Indie Spirit nom.
I saw it the other day and absolutely agree, very confused with the positive response. I've been in the minority opinion many times before, but I'm just having a really hard time thinking it could possibly win best picture. I think it could maybe take a promising young woman path
Glad to see Demi got in!
I don't think it wil happen, but damn I would love Demi Moore to take this award!
I think it's possible. She's definitely top five in that category as far as competing for the win.
I want Adam to win Supporting Performance.
It's rare for the Academy to nominate performances in the horror/body horror genre. Same for Sci fi.

I feel like this is more a predictor of the indie spirit I hope they give I saw the tv glow love

I feel that demi moore could win here. And i would love that

I remeber when Charles Melton won Last year and Film Twitter went crazy and already expected Oscar 😅 so I don't take this seriously.
I love the Gothams (except for the international rule). It is nice to see an awards that go their own way.
So happy for Marianne Jean-Baptiste
Demi Moore! lets go!
Demi Moore deserved her nomination and hopefully it will happen again at Critics Choice, SAG and obviously …. the Oscars!
Marianne Jean-Baptiste AND Yura Borisov AND Demi Moore getting nominated makes sense with my French vanilla fantasy
All We Imagine as light has 2 noms 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hurray first nominations video of the year

TV GLOW IS ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES OF THE YEAR BUT THE ENDING IS DEVASTATING. SAD
Sorry.
Let's go Yura Burisov!
Congratulations All we imagine as light ❤
seeing I saw the tv glow here is incredible :]

I was happy to see the nomination for Between the Temples as well.
Glad to see Pamela Anderson on the list!!
Just a start
Just got home waiting for Here review
Stephanie Hsu missed here so yeah the weird misses like Ellis and Anora in screenplay are expected
Gotham seems very targeted towards Gen Z; Sing Sing and The Brutalist aren’t really Gen Z movies (hence why they didn’t show up in Best Feature)
i'm still here disrespected🥲
Yes for Green Border
Pam!!!
Conclave got snubbed?
Let's go Kieren Culkin 🏆
I saw the tv glow sweep begins now (I am coping)
Demi Moore and Pam Anderson deserve this show the worlds after 40 your still able to do good work
Me just now realizing that they're twins. 😅😂
Terrifier 3 got SNUBBED!
I kid. In all honesty, love the nominations this year.
Adam Pearson has a chance to get nominated for supporting actor
I want Natasha and Danielle to tie.
I'm a bit concerned by the fact that Emilia Pérez was goose egged.
Having seen it, it's not something the Gothams would really do. Normie voters and actors branches will love the film in time.
I read it was ineligible.
I saw the film early and I enjoyed it!
The TV Glow noms are SOOOOOO deserved
Emilia Perez & Maria weren’t eligible
Nothing for Sept. 5th either.
ayyyyyy fellas
The acting categories will have 2 winner. Its gonna be a tie
A male winner
A female winner
Zendaya is a producer on challengers so shes nominated
YEAH! (x10)
And Fernanda Torres? Omg!🤔
Yes. The bloke from Emilia got snubbed 😅😅 we love to see it. I'm rooting for Demi ❤❤❤❤
@gabbyb7347 It didn't cross my mind that The Substance could have transphobic losers in it's fanbase until now. Go to hell.
1:46 Diddy is for sure not going to show up because he's in jail
Asian hate.
I don't know why Anora is becoming a front-runner, it is a very generic film.
Excuse me? Have you seen the film?
You can have personal dislike of Sean Baker's style for valid reasons, but by no means does he make generic films.
Bruh did we watch the same film?
😬

you think it’s genetic? WILD take
Queer wasn’t eligible for anything because its budget was $53 million and the Cap is $35 Million 6:26
Challengers had a budget of approximately 50 mil and it got nominated.
Without exaggeration, I Saw The TV Glow is the worst film I’ve seen in 14years, and I saw Cats 🐈⬛ 🐈
This opinion should have you in The Hague
It‘s literally a life changing film for me. Immediately entered my top 5 films of all time. Maybe it‘s just not for you
@@gutterbaby8382 they give out Nobel prizes at The Hague? lol
Sounds straight
@@CharlieMarlin changed my life too, was the last time I took a film recommendation from my mate Rob 😂
The Gotham Awards has no merit at the Oscars.
