I play mostly immobile juggernauts and hard tanks and I feel like my fights last 5-10 seconds. I look at items like Riftmaker on Mordekaiser and think "5 seconds in combat for omnivamp? Fights won't last that long by the time I build this thing! Then I think back to season 10 and 9 when I started and how long fights lasted. Stacking Conq and old ravenous hunter letting me last for half a minute late game against an adc who can kill me if I don't keep up the pressure and I can't just swat with a single q and 2 seconds of my passive is fun, fighting is FUN. It's the thing that got me interested in this game, not abstract macro or bauss style sidelane bullshit, long epic fights where I get to demonstrate my skills in dodging skillshots and landing my own. The game has become more about how quickly you make decisions after the fights you take than the fights themselves and it feels empty as a result.
Yeah I can agree with this. I've started just playing Grasp of the Undying on just about every Bruiser champ because to me there's no point in stacking Conqueror's when the enemy is already dead or I'm already dead by the time there's value being had from it. At least with Grasp it helps during the laning phase and if you stack a lot of it you've got about 100-150 extra health than normal to engage with and not get popped the second you try to flank them.

Probably but that's just the culture of league at this point, using emotes and pings to troll/flame people is unavoidable really. There are obviously cases that are unhealthy for the game like the bait ping that was literally just a "kys" ping, but any ping riot adds will be used in a troll way
The game was too snowbally so they added objective bounties to give the losing team a way to get back into the game. They did the "durability" patch which was almost immediately indirectly reverted by champion buffs (specifically damage). These were all placebo changes which didn't address the issues league has. Now that the items are getting nerfed, maybe the game will feel playable again.
You're right that Riot's recent attempts to reduce snowballing turned out to be placebo, specifically cause of all the compensation changes that immediately followed... which has me worried about the patches following this one. What's stopping Riot from overcompensating for the nerfs like before?

Durability update was not reverted by champ buffs. The durability updated was a broad change to bring damage down system-wide. But they added it back to those who should have it. The durability update worked and is still currently working for what it was always trying to target.
Deadlock has a thing where your character will point out when you are by yourself in a potentially unsafe location just with a voice line. I found that to be not only really cool to hear the character themselves voicing it but a great way to help keep you reminded of positioning.
That seems like a good idea but i think a ton more time, effort and money would have to go into that than it would be worth. Not that I wouldn't LOVE a feature like this cuz I love listening to voice lines and I'm a Hwei main so the augmented voice lines for Jhin being in a game or not are really cool imo I think they should do a voice line update on some of the older champs and I think any champ that gets a quest with another champ should have augmented voice lines if that champ is in their game. Bro, nerfing items and making champion base stats matter more was something I started thinking about a year ago. Glad devs are picking up on the same thing. Makes a hell of a lot more sense when you realize most of the balance issues are caused by items, and only a few by champions (which you can ban).
They have pings for next recommended jungle camp and such. As long as you have the option to turn off these new pings, it might benefit the newest of the players some.

I've looked at the K'Sante changes, and as an enjoyer of said champion I get where they're coming from, it's not necessarily that the champion is weaker, it seems like he actually does a fuck ton more damage now than before, but that he's becoming incredibly clunky and slow so actually getting damage or value out of the changes is so much harder than it's worth

I'm an old player, supports used to buy gold generating items such as philosopher stone (builds into shurelya for movement speed), heart of gold (builds into locket) and kage lucky pick (builds into twin shadows), beside gold generating items we had sightstone and ruby sightstone (direct upgrade with only more hp) which granted you 3 wards every time you went back to base If you didn't go all 3 of the gold gen items, you'd swap one out for an aura item, Runic Bulwark gave 10 armor, 25 mr and 10 flat hp regen to your whole team if they sat around you or my favorite Zeke's Herald, I'd even build it on Darius top because it gave 20% CDR, 250 health and it was a cheap first item spike and the aura would give me and my teammates 20 AD and 10% lifesteal, a whole vamp scepter worth of lifesteal to me, my jg and my adc
i had a teemo support build where i'd take cosmic insight and ruby sightstone and then i would use zz'rot portal with boots of swiftness to put a zz'rot and shrooms in both side lanes then group in the middle for a push

The worst experience I had was a guy calling me a name one time after a lost game and quickly leaving the server. Bullies are also cowards and most people hate on you in chat because they’ve dehumanized you.

I didn't have faith when Tyler1 said these changes were gonna bring league back, but honestly this is giving me hope. Massive changes like this is exactly what the game needed. Now we just need to take a look at cooldowns generally, and mobility creep and legit possible return to prime league.
11:14 I think this will result in junglers being more happy from getting more help from team generally. Though it will be harder to solo objectives as a jungle if you have lane priority as it will encourage both your own team and the enemy to come to you (and possibly lose objective).

this isnt about balance. its about overall game feel. there will always be a broken champs and shit champs. i just dont want the game state to have even tanks oneshotting squishies and everyone feels like full build at 2 items (I want damage in League to go down drastically. I enjoyed the speed of fights much more in S4-5 than in modern years. Honestly this season isn't the worst for damage, but it has been bad overall for last 8 or so years. Power creep happens to all games, devs can't nerf damage because it makes players not want to play when they read their champ/items got nerfed, yet the opposite happens if their champ gets buffed, even if its overall bad for the game. And it is bad for the game, horrible actually. It's not even just single damage numbers, look how crazy ability cooldowns are compared to before - the cooldowns in Ranked today are comparable to URF cooldowns in the original release.)
While I get slowing game down makes it more enjoyable, in low Elo in particular the games r way too long already because players don’t know how to finish games. I think the death timer increase was the best thing to ever happen as it punishes dying more and allow teams to really leverage advantages off of picks.

the upside of voice chat is, while the league player will be perma flaming you, he is now able to actually play at the same time instead of standing still and typing. Good change
yeah I'm on 3 different champ mains subreddits (Hwei, Ziggs, and Evelynn) and EVERYONE is complaining about the nerfs to the point I feel like I'm the only one that's like "uh... guys they nerfed pretty much everything not just YOUR champ's items.
and on the topic of pings wich you brought up I think a "Wait" ping would be really nice. I've lost count of the number of times I've really wanted to just be able to ping my team to wait for an objective fight because we're down 1 or 2 teammates but my only options are a caution ping or a retreat ping
He buffed lichbane though, one of the best snowball items, which paired with untouched void staff is going to make facing AP assassins unbearable to face
Since the removal of bots, i had been able to get out of iron 3, staying at silver rank. It was difficult playing adc and having a lot of bot supports before vanguard.
Mages and ADCs were doing too much dmg and Mages STILL dominating bot lanes. You have too many mages like Brand, Lillia, Karthus, and Aurora doing wayyy too much dmg. With the removal of AD on Zeal items and LT’s removal, they also forced ADC’s to build all AD and gave us 2 tapping MF’s, Draven’s, Caitlyn’s, and Kaisa (more AP Kaisa but point still stands the “Sustained Dmg” dream is dead)
I've played enough of League to know that by next preseason they will do an entire 180° with this new philosophy of items being weak. This is not the first time Riot said they wanted to take away power from items or take away power from X or Y only for them to change their minds completely a few months later.

As much as the dmg nerf is desperately needed. Id say the biggest change is increasing cooldowns. I felt when the game was peak was when if you blew your cooldowns youd be vulnerable for a significant amount of time
You mentioned that supports used to buy only wards and so the champs for supports have raw stats on their kit. This isn't true as they made it easier for supports to get gold they reduced the flat damage on the champs that are played support.
Nothing the devs do will "balance" the game. The biggest balancing aspect of lol is the fact that there are 10 players affecting the outcome of any game. That, and the sheer volume of champions, item and level discrepancies. The sheer variability is the great equalizer.

I’m not excited for the nerfs. The point of getting kills, playing for tower plates, having high cs, is for you to get gold to expand your lead. That gold is used for items that hopefully make you feel significantly stronger/expand your lead. Now you’ll feel weaker after getting a lead, and slow down the overall game pace(which doesn’t sound that fun). -1
overall i do love the changes. for reference im not super into like competitive in league just like gaming in draft with the homies. been playing for getting close to 10 years (7-9 i cant quite remember when i started i think its when aatrox first released as thats the first champ i remember releasing.) but the one thing that really stood out to me as i dont think its super great is I.E. being the same price now as rabadons while being nerfed fairly substantially. im sure over time theyll find a good balance but this seems pretty insane as a first step. like i dont know are they trying to push ie to like a 4th item get as like rabadons usually kinda is? dont get me wrong i get I.E. in itself is the strongest crit item. but i dont think its the same power scaler as rabadons. idk. i really dont know how to try and view this other then just dont play crit adc for a while.
Nah i play alot of dota 2 and most matches no one says anything, sometimes theres a captain who tries to direct the team and very rarely is there a rager
@@elvis4868 League is much faster than Dota2 with far more moves, and skill shots. Dota 2 is slower with more point and click. So League provokes more adrenaline. I was an Axe main back in Dota2.
Ive been inviting pregame lobby to a discord vc for months and have had exactly one bad experience. It was a guy who called me a name after a lost game and then quickly left the server. Everyone else has been great. Try it out yourself, if you’re a respectful individual and set the tone, it is a nonissue.
If me winning a game depends on the enemy team not knowing baron has spawned, I deserve to win and they deserve to lose, its simple. that doesn’t make anyone “not as good as they think they are.” Imo mental stack is part of the game, if you can’t handle thinking about all the different things going on in a game you deserve to be a lower rank.
the fact that they not only nerfed almost all the damage items but also nerfed a couple of tank items, to compensate means squishies won't die in 0.25 seconds anymore but tanks also won't be litterally immortal after 2 items either it's really good ^^

Shaco main here. He's been good, but he doesn't feel good to play. Because the damage is too high. I need to be ahead to kill someone , and even then if I can't burst anyone I'm beyond useless. I feel in love with him because I could jump into a fight and jump out. Poking people down and surviving, before jumping in again and doing it over. That gameplay CANNOT happen anymore. It's all or nothing. The worst part about that, is that every other champ can do my job better. At 8:00 you mention this and you are SPOT on. Assassins are worthless, which is bad because I'm an assassin main...at least elise is ok (in low elo).
Its a really nice change. This nerf is needed. But they are COMPLETELY forgetting how much damage tanks can do right now, and that is NOT being nerfed at all. You have tanks like Ksante, TK, Mundo, Sion etc that can just go full tank and still dish out a completely out of place damage while never getting killed. Now IMAGINE with all these nerfs to damage overall while not even touching the damage capabilities of TANKS, its gonna be a nightmare.

I didn't have faith when Tyler1 said these changes were gonna bring league back, but honestly this is giving me hope. Massive changes like this is exactly what the game needed. Now we just need to take a look at cooldowns generally, and mobility creep and legit possible return to prime league.
11:14 I think this will result in junglers being more happy from getting more help from team generally. Though it will be harder to solo objectives as a jungle if you have lane priority as it will encourage both your own team and the enemy to come to you (and possibly lose objective).

this isnt about balance. its about overall game feel. there will always be a broken champs and shit champs. i just dont want the game state to have even tanks oneshotting squishies and everyone feels like full build at 2 items
(I want damage in League to go down drastically. I enjoyed the speed of fights much more in S4-5 than in modern years. Honestly this season isn't the worst for damage, but it has been bad overall for last 8 or so years. Power creep happens to all games, devs can't nerf damage because it makes players not want to play when they read their champ/items got nerfed, yet the opposite happens if their champ gets buffed, even if its overall bad for the game. And it is bad for the game, horrible actually. It's not even just single damage numbers, look how crazy ability cooldowns are compared to before - the cooldowns in Ranked today are comparable to URF cooldowns in the original release.)

While I get slowing game down makes it more enjoyable, in low Elo in particular the games r way too long already because players don’t know how to finish games. I think the death timer increase was the best thing to ever happen as it punishes dying more and allow teams to really leverage advantages off of picks.

the upside of voice chat is, while the league player will be perma flaming you, he is now able to actually play at the same time instead of standing still and typing. Good change

yeah I'm on 3 different champ mains subreddits (Hwei, Ziggs, and Evelynn) and EVERYONE is complaining about the nerfs to the point I feel like I'm the only one that's like "uh... guys they nerfed pretty much everything not just YOUR champ's items.
and on the topic of pings wich you brought up I think a "Wait" ping would be really nice. I've lost count of the number of times I've really wanted to just be able to ping my team to wait for an objective fight because we're down 1 or 2 teammates but my only options are a caution ping or a retreat ping

Since the removal of bots, i had been able to get out of iron 3, staying at silver rank. It was difficult playing adc and having a lot of bot supports before vanguard.

Mages and ADCs were doing too much dmg and Mages STILL dominating bot lanes. You have too many mages like Brand, Lillia, Karthus, and Aurora doing wayyy too much dmg. With the removal of AD on Zeal items and LT’s removal, they also forced ADC’s to build all AD and gave us 2 tapping MF’s, Draven’s, Caitlyn’s, and Kaisa (more AP Kaisa but point still stands the “Sustained Dmg” dream is dead)
Your right about supports you were expected to get wards and buy the 3 gold items and be hated on constantly.

I've played enough of League to know that by next preseason they will do an entire 180° with this new philosophy of items being weak. This is not the first time Riot said they wanted to take away power from items or take away power from X or Y only for them to change their minds completely a few months later.

As much as the dmg nerf is desperately needed. Id say the biggest change is increasing cooldowns. I felt when the game was peak was when if you blew your cooldowns youd be vulnerable for a significant amount of time

You mentioned that supports used to buy only wards and so the champs for supports have raw stats on their kit. This isn't true as they made it easier for supports to get gold they reduced the flat damage on the champs that are played support.

Nothing the devs do will "balance" the game. The biggest balancing aspect of lol is the fact that there are 10 players affecting the outcome of any game.
That, and the sheer volume of champions, item and level discrepancies. The sheer variability is the great equalizer.
I think it could be good if they also added an indicator on the cs health bar to know when your auto kills for iron and bronze elo and match vs bots

I’m not excited for the nerfs. The point of getting kills, playing for tower plates, having high cs, is for you to get gold to expand your lead. That gold is used for items that hopefully make you feel significantly stronger/expand your lead. Now you’ll feel weaker after getting a lead, and slow down the overall game pace(which doesn’t sound that fun). -1

overall i do love the changes. for reference im not super into like competitive in league just like gaming in draft with the homies. been playing for getting close to 10 years (7-9 i cant quite remember when i started i think its when aatrox first released as thats the first champ i remember releasing.) but the one thing that really stood out to me as i dont think its super great is I.E. being the same price now as rabadons while being nerfed fairly substantially. im sure over time theyll find a good balance but this seems pretty insane as a first step. like i dont know are they trying to push ie to like a 4th item get as like rabadons usually kinda is? dont get me wrong i get I.E. in itself is the strongest crit item. but i dont think its the same power scaler as rabadons. idk. i really dont know how to try and view this other then just dont play crit adc for a while.

@@elvis4868 League is much faster than Dota2 with far more moves, and skill shots. Dota 2 is slower with more point and click. So League provokes more adrenaline. I was an Axe main back in Dota2.
Ive been inviting pregame lobby to a discord vc for months and have had exactly one bad experience. It was a guy who called me a name after a lost game and then quickly left the server. Everyone else has been great.
Try it out yourself, if you’re a respectful individual and set the tone, it is a nonissue.

If me winning a game depends on the enemy team not knowing baron has spawned, I deserve to win and they deserve to lose, its simple. that doesn’t make anyone “not as good as they think they are.” Imo mental stack is part of the game, if you can’t handle thinking about all the different things going on in a game you deserve to be a lower rank.
Thats the point, you gotta be very low to not know baron has spawned and nothing wrong with helping out some newer players

the fact that they not only nerfed almost all the damage items but also nerfed a couple of tank items, to compensate means squishies won't die in 0.25 seconds anymore but tanks also won't be litterally immortal after 2 items either it's really good ^^
tanks are already too overpowered in the game so this will make tanks even more unkillable

Shaco main here. He's been good, but he doesn't feel good to play. Because the damage is too high. I need to be ahead to kill someone , and even then if I can't burst anyone I'm beyond useless. I feel in love with him because I could jump into a fight and jump out. Poking people down and surviving, before jumping in again and doing it over. That gameplay CANNOT happen anymore. It's all or nothing. The worst part about that, is that every other champ can do my job better. At 8:00 you mention this and you are SPOT on. Assassins are worthless, which is bad because I'm an assassin main...at least elise is ok (in low elo).
Garen is the best assasin in the game, silence one shot dmg, insane movement speed cant be cc'd and is tanky af. Shaco zed etc cant compete
Its a really nice change. This nerf is needed. But they are COMPLETELY forgetting how much damage tanks can do right now, and that is NOT being nerfed at all. You have tanks like Ksante, TK, Mundo, Sion etc that can just go full tank and still dish out a completely out of place damage while never getting killed. Now IMAGINE with all these nerfs to damage overall while not even touching the damage capabilities of TANKS, its gonna be a nightmare.
