Husqvarna Head-To-Head: 2019 FE350 vs FX350

- For reasons we detailed a year ago, Husqvarna’s Cross-Country models are increasingly on the radar for riders in the market for a sharply priced, lightweight enduro-style bike. And why wouldn’t they be? Using a hybrid of MX- and enduro-model components, these cross-country machines are some $1500 cheaper, 6kg lighter and come with several different components - not least of which is WP’s AER 48 air-sprung fork. Plus, Husky’s 2019 Cross-Country models come with the upgrades made to the new-gen 2019 MX-bike range; mods that are expected to be adopted, in large part, by the brand’s 2020-model enduro bikes.
Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean the cross-country models are better - especially when you take the bikes into snotty, tight terrain, where an enduro model’s sharp-steering chassis, and forgiving power and suspension are right at home.
So, with this ‘mismatch’ of models (and the fact these two Husqvarna 350s are out of step with each other from a generational point of view), we decided to put the 2019 FE350 and 2019 FX350 head-to-head at the recent Transmoto 8-Hour at Coffs Harbour to:
- Get a handle on how the enduro and cross-country models differ when it comes to performance and overall feel - from early in the race, when the tracks and riders’ bodies are fresh, to late in the race, when both the track and riders have deteriorated; and
- Get a pre-emptive insight into the 2020 FE350, which is expected to adopt much of the engine and bodywork upgrades brought out on the 2019 FX350 12 months ago.
When comparing these two bikes, it’s also worth taking a look at the Specs Table, which highlights subtle but significant differences in their engines (compression, throttle body size, exhaust systems, gearing, etc), frame geometry, suspension, and the ‘accessory’ components they each get as standard equipment.

Sold my XR650R for a FE350 this winter. Never looked back. Super happy with the bike.
Ay nice dude! Can the bike cruice at 70 mph with out revving to much?
HardcoreWeeaboo - Doesn't like above 65 without a sprocket swap, same with the 501

That’s like swapping ya chunky wife for a drunk 19 year old. Love em both but 2 different machines.
That was great. How did the riders feel about the different ergo's / plastics on the two models? With the 2020 FE sharing plastics with the 19 FX it would be interesting to know.
This is an old thread, where this was filmed, did the fe have emission restrictions on it or not? If it did have emission restrictions that's not a good comparison.
Awesome video! I couldnt keep my eyes away on Fe 350 the whole video lol
Still loving my 350 FE
What gearing where you running on both? Hard to set up for both bush and grass track. I'm still struggling 3 years in with my FC350 🤯
If only Canada had the same FE's as the Aussies do :(
how are they different? Are the AUZ ones tuned up a lot more? Mine doesnt leave me wanting anything extra. I feel its plenty fast.
@@minnionator Yeah they are tuned differently than in NA and I believe they don't have reeds in the intake either
@@minnionator my fe 450 runs very hot and has resulted in my side panel melting :/ the bike is too choked up
What is different ?
What is a farmer???
Is that the stock tank on the fx? I’m trying to find a tank for my fc that’s oversized but I don’t like the ims/acerbis cause the tall lip around the cap
Yes it is. I have that same bike
yup
White plastic look good for all of 5 minutes I hate that about them what are they thinking that’s why Yamaha went away from white as it looks shit house after 5 minutes not a fan
Have you heard of washing your bike?
Overman I guess not
There are other color plastic kits you can purchase for the bikes...
@@benjaminlane3004 Seems you have never seen new husky with just few hours on it. Some parts of plastic instantly becomes yellow because of boots contact. And just after 1 or 2 falls bike already look as if its already 100 hours on it. Even my 2015 KTM looks better than a "new" husky
@@AlexCage19wipe the plastics with degreaser and they turn out brand new
