Ukraine is the part fighting for existence, therefore they must be in with any peace plan. russia is the aggressor, therefore they don't have to be in any initial peace talks as long as they're later defeated. And russia will be defeated. Because the West won't stop support for Ukraine, only ever increasing it. But all russia has to do is wait for domestic prices to rise so high that russia collapses. It's on its way. Then the defeat will be a fact.

In a radio interview today, Viktor Orbán said that peace will not happen by itself. someone has to do something about it. He also said that he had gone to assess what the red line is for Ukraine in the peace process, and that we also need to know what the red line is for Russia. If Viktor Orban has got the information, he will write a report to the EU Council of Heads of State and Government. He will try to do all the preparatory work, of course the decision will be taken by the EU Heads of State and Government. Viktor Orbán is trying to nudge EU politicians towards peace.

I've lived in Hungary for 16 years, and it is far from peaceful: Orbán and Fidesz have waged literally continuous legal and propaganda wars on everyone: judicial independence, the EU, our neighbours, womens' rights, LGBTQ people, teachers, uni students, Roma, immigrants, press freedom... The only people Orbán hasn't waged war on is the Kremlin, despite the fact that in Hungary's war of independence, it wasRussia that helped crush it, wehile the Revolution of 1956 was put down by Russian tanks, and Hungary was occupied by Russia till 1989 - it was as an anti-Russian voice that Orbán first came to prominence. @@Jan-s2n potrzeba rozpocząć proces mediacyjny. Nie wiem co myśli Orban, ale na pewno trzeba zacząć negocjować i wyszarpać Rosji część terytorium za pomocą dyplomacji. My (zachód) nie występujemy do końca z pozycji przegranej. Jestem za rozpoczęciem rokowań ze względu na tragiczną sytuację demograficzną w Ukrainie i fakt że martwię się że mogą nie mieć możliwości odbudowania się po końcu wojny.

The population of Ukraine is not sufficiently large, and if we want it to rebuild after the war we must stop the conflict now. I am from Poland, and I've always wanted the best for Ukraine obviously. Now I think starting a conversation with Russia about a new and permanent security order in Europe is necessairy. If they start a war again, then they will do it even if this war goes on for the next 5 years. The difference is that after 5 years of war there won't be anyone left in Ukraine apart from old people and a few babies. How will Ukraine deal with that? Import migrants from 3rd world countries? I don't approve of that AT ALL.

Well the affair was really between Ukraine and Russia I thought... not sure why EU put it's nose in it.. Orban is representing Hungary 🇭🇺 and The Majority of normal citizens in the EU.. tbh I personally haven't heard one parent who wants to send their children to war nor fighting age men who said yep I am packing because I really want to fight on Ukraine's front line to Save Ukraine... not even one person 🤷♂️ Forgive me if I am wrong....

Small quantities, we need in the industrial sector is enough for Denmark. The surplus is exported to Poland via the pipeline that goes through Norway, Denmark, Poland. We have so much energy here, that we export to Sweden and Norway in Winter, when they need more. Our energy prices haven't changed for years, what You're talking about(?)....

I don’t like Orban but he did visit Kyiv last week so he is either genuinely looking for a way out of this mess or he went to Kyiv to find out what Ukrainian were willing to compromise and he is in Moscow to report to Putin directly on his findings either way, it is significant movement in the geopolitics of the region.
It means nothing. He only wants to secure his oil and gas deliveries. He has no other power to do anything on EU level.
If He went to Russia first, the western media would've crucified him as "Putin's puppet" and he probably would never have gotten the chance to have a civilized meeting with Zelensky and there would've been pressure to resist Orban before a word left his mouth. How do I know this? Because that's exactly what the media said about the African delegation that went to meet with Putin last year. They said they "only came for food".
If he went to see Putin first, he would've been labeled a "Putin puppet" and cancelled even before his plane lands in Hungary. He'd never succeed in meeting Zelensky. 100%

Further context on Hungary, they are the largest supplier of oil and gas to Ukraine, they buy it cheap and move it on to Ukraine and before you accuse them of being pro Russia go listen to their UN Ambassadors harsh condemnation of the Russian invasion.
