Your reviews on all the vehicles are always worth listening to, I do prefer listening to you rather than the other journalists. You make more sense and more mature. Thanks mate good work !

Its a fleet vehicle. A statistic. Ive been the toyota Australia auctioneer and was in Newman last year with a major mining company. Theybsaid they prefer the 2.8 and auto over the v8 and here we are. As youbcan see by my profile pic my preference is for landcruisers. Ive had/have 40,45,47,60,80,100,200,300,75,76,78,5x79v8. I sold my 79dual cab (hated the 300), and bought a hilux. Why? To see if i can live with the 2.8 and auto. Can i? Yes. But its got all the personality of a washing machine. The question is should I buy a 70 which is a mess under the bonnet, the bonnet itself is tinny. They havnt fixed the track issue and all of the work is from the windscreen forward. WTF? Its a hilux with anlive axle front and a body from 1984. As much as I have loved my cruisers im going to wait.
Best wagon? 80 series factory quad valve turbo. Best 70? 2006 factory 6 cyl turbo.
I think Toyota are taking the Mickey out of us

Toyota has declared the end of heavy-duty reliability, governments are probably compensating Toyota for going smaller engine who knowns whats going on. this move is crazy stupid. Il say i again Its not a 70 series its a hilux engine in the body of 70.. CRAZY why, its like Rolls Royce coming out saying there most well known vehicle is now avalible but with yarris engine so bascily its a money grab for people who want the shape of the 70... why not Toyota just put the same engine in every vehicle they make and just sell different shapes styling. A car company as big as toyota what they do is innovate and build new engines drive trains etc. MONEY GRAB they dont care about customer at all anymore.

Its going the way of the 4.2 patrol. My son has one. Did cape york. Tuff truck. Ive had that many toyotas and this is the first time ive gone “um. Na. Proove yourself” now if they just put a live axle in the hilux 🤔😊

Such a shame that you are right. You say you wait... I say this is the end for the mighty LC70

Finally a review that’s actually honest and not trying to pretend the 4 cylinder is a match for the detuned V8.

Anything is a match for the V8 mate 😂 they are the most shit cars out there. The worlds smallest V8 and people say “oh yeah the big V8” bahahaha

And the fact that a new gearbox and diff ratios make a massive difference to the driving of the vehicle. It's not the engine that's giving all this performance, its the engine with the much better gearing.

2:40 I'm pretty sure I see a volume knob. It's the circle thing on the right. At 2:51 it says vol below it.

Here in Dubai the new LC 70 series is powered by the 4.0L V6, 24 Valve DOHC VVT-i Petrol and they are not offering the 2.8L Diesel for the middle east market

Dunes and free petrol might have something to do with that.

Clearly aimed at fleet buyers who get them in bulk, cheap and virtually tax free, including tradies. It sell to ordinary public sector enthusiasts who care less about it being inadequate in so many ways and businesses selling after market "fixes" will breath a sigh of relief for a few more years.

you said it early on, your dads motor has 800.000km on the clock, can this motor do that mileage or do Toyota gets to sell a new motor in 5 years....i love the look of it and hope they can bring them to the uk as now they have smaller motors that we already have here i cant see any emission laws preventing it , plus presume the uk goverment no longer have to protect the landrover brand(as they sold out to non uk owners) in the uk by restricting Toyota sales so hope to see some 70s on the road in the uk.

If they’re gonna dull it down then atleast put a eco button in there to make it worth while, my hilux gets 10L/100 easy on power mode. Making fuel consumption too close to a v8 deters buyers even more given there’s no real pro to it.

I'm a Toyota fan boy I will openly admit it but I laugh my backside off whenever they release a new car (300 not included). Only because everyone since the dawn of time have begged them for more power and more adequately sized engines and each and every time they just go NOPE get f*#ked. It's just hilarious at this point.

I can't criticise a country that leads the global car production industry, especially while Australia, driven by COVID, LGBT, and global warming enthusiasts , has closed doors for local manufacturers like Ford, Holden, and Toyota. I've loved and owned the LC 76 4.5 for many years. After selling it, I reordered the LC79. However, when my turn came, I was presented with a face-lifted version that, in my opinion, is an unattractive parody of the LC. I had a test drive with the LC79 2.8L and was thoroughly unimpressed. To avoid being blocked on TH-cam for foul language, I'll refrain from detailing my thoughts here. Suffice to say, this doesn't feel like the 70 series LC anymore.

Have they stopped making the V8?.,if not why dont people just buy & wait for it,leave the 2.8 4 cylinder engine for whoever wants it & stop complaining bout it! & be happy!😂
