    Disassemble the whole carb, clean and then rebuild not a side at a time. When you popped that screen out at 12:15 and cleaned it any crap is now going to be in the needle valve

    Very good video. Took the OEM Zama off my 036 Pro this summer because the saw wouldn't throttle up. Bought a whole Zama replacement for $20 so never worried about a rebuild kit. I'll have to get one now and get the old one working again.

      lol, I didn't even think about just slapping on a new carb, likely wouldn't have been much more epensive, and would have saved me some time. Did get this video out of it though, so I can't complain too much.

    This video helped me fix a chainsaw, I cheated and stretched the tiny spring to compensate for the stiff diaphragm mainly to see if it would work, then I can get some service parts later ;-)

    I always put a little grease on the lifter pin and the end of the spring. The grease will keep the pin from dropping out of the lifter and the grease on the end of the spring keeps it on the hump at the bottom of its slot as I insert the forked tang of the lifter into the needle. The grease will wash off when gas flows through the carburetor.

  • @johnclarke6647
    @johnclarke6647 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I put a little grease on the end of the lifter lever spring to make sure it stays put in its hole. I also put a little grease on the lifter lever pin, so it will stay in the lifter lever. The grease will wash out when gasoline gets into the carb.

    I have to point out something for those who just watch and do without thinking. If your two stroke has read vs port intake, sticking anything in the hole too far could fuck some stuff up. especially if you loose some of your paper inside the crank case.

    Anyone know what the metering lever setting is for the Walbro car on these? Just rebuilt mine and discovered on the Walbro website that part number 500-13 is needed to set it properly. 9:50 in the video but no actual measurement/setting.

      @Human1337  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe they are, something about sourcing issues or some such. Will be seeing it again though from what I've heard.

      ya i was told they are just remaking the 441 but our stihl rep said it should've been back around last Christmas but i still haven't heard anything. i have heard rumors of it being out on the east coast though

      LOL, chainsaws are always a good influence on you, unlike humans.

  • @FishFind3000
    @FishFind3000 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    What's a decent shape 660 running for I found one local for $700. 28" & 32" bars with chains. I haven't seen much online forsake so I can really judge the value. How much are 28-32" ES bars and chains going for? I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth it to jump in this. It's way more saw then I'll ever need but it's still something I NEED! Idk if you get my drift by I don't need it but I NEED IT!

    • @Human1337
      @Human1337  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LOL, I know exactly what you mean. I didn't need my big one, but I NEEDED it, and then I actually had to have it, lol. $700 is an amazing price for that saw and the two bars. I forget what the bars go for, but they're right at, if not more than $100 each. One thing I'd be cautious of is aftermarket parts. Ebay and craigslist are always full of big saws for cheap prices, but if you look closely at the pictures, and read all the fine print, you'll find that they're often saws that were busted, and repaired with hutzl or farmertech "both chinese companies that make knock off stihl parts" parts. If the saw is legit, I'd say go for it.

    • @G19Jeeper
      @G19Jeeper 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      FishFind3000 it depends on the area, but for SW Pennsylvania, that's a damn decent price on a 660 with two OEM Stihl ES bars. Those bars alone are worth $200 or more depending on the condition. If you can prove that the saw is still all OEM and wasn't rebuilt or was rebuilt with OEM parts by a professional, buy it! Even better if you can get the seller down a bit.

    • @Human1337
      @Human1337  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Even better yet, don't buy it and give me the sellers phone# =) j/k

    Okay Human, did your carb fix the 440?

    • @Human1337
      @Human1337  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of course! lol Did have a problem though, didn't know they had the same air filter cover as a previous version, so in this one you have to cut out the insert for the compensation flow. Took awhile to figure it out.

      I think I just took a punch and knocked it out. If I remember correctly the casting was made with weak spots for it, as it is often done.

    watch out for copyright infringement with music playing in the background.

    • @Human1337
      @Human1337  8 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yeah, of all things, the very first youtube video I did where I cut off a toenail got hit with a copyright strike. All due to some classical music I had playing at the time, lol. Did a bunch of reading after that, so I should be safe. I only have it in the background, while I'm working, and not added into the soundtrack during editing. They'd have a damn hard case to make saying that the music is the main aspect of the video, which is what they'd have to prove to claim copyright, otherwise it's under fair use.
