I agree with the entire list, but I have a soft spot for Scooby-Doo. I loved Scooby Doo on Zombie Island. That was when they finally decided to get creative with the story. Other than that, I hated everything else. I never really liked Ed, Edd, and Eddy. The animation just bugged me to no end.
Regular show is honestly one of my favorite cartoons in existence. It’s one of the most relatable shows I’ve seen, and I love its formula of the characters just living their daily lives with something completely IRREGULAR happening. Each characters gets more and more developed as the seasons go on and it’s without a doubt one of the riskiest Cartoon Network shows. It also had a a lot of adult appeal. Seriously I can’t believe the amount of jokes they got away with. Me and my dad would always have a fun time watching this show, but I think the most important thing I liked about regular show is the fact that it taught me to be a good friend and to give chances to the ones who truly appreciate and love you. I respect your opinion but I definitely disagree.
You couldn't have described it better. He probably started off with the wrong seasons and episodes that gave him a bad taste for the rest of the show afterwards despite the show debatibly getting better as it went on.
If I may explain the reasoning for Ed, Edd and Eddy love, it's often cited as a great tribute to childhood and the memories that in entails (including the sometimes exaggerations that we make up). At the end of the day the show is supposed to be "this is how you remember childhood. Running around, trying everything duck the first day of school, making up dumb clubs in the backyard, etc. they really drove this point home with one of the final endings ( there were technically a two episodes made as finales, and one TV movie) shows that the entire show may or may not have been the Eds reminiscing about their childhood as old men. Children are going to sometimes be selfish and stupid and give into peer pressure, because they're kids. Also, the movie was incredible. It gave Eddy a lot of depth and really put an emphasis on how close Double D and Eddy are. That part wasn't relevant, I just like gushing about that movie.
Those are good reasons. Honestly, no one's ever actually tried to explain to me why they enjoy it before. I'm glad you can see that artistic depth to the show.

King of the Hill is pretty lowkey, which is really refreshing compared to the Simpsons or Family Guy. I'd recommend watching some of the Bobby or Dale centered episodes. It took me like three tries to get into Regular Show. I mostly stuck with it for Mark Hamil as Skips, and I ended up really liking it.

4. Fair enough, I can concur 3. Agreed, especially with everything after Mystery Incorporated. HB also milked the Jetsons and the Flintstones the same way sadly. 2. It starts out that way, but the characters DO get development over the seasons. This is particularly true of Mordecai and Rigby. The finale was also blessedly beautiful. 1. Ok that's fair, Edd, Ed N Eddy isnt the best CN has ever done, that I'll agree with. I think the vast majority of people who like it do so because they could identify with one character or another in the series, as it was them or someone they knew.
Uagh same I had trouble sleeping for two weeks, cause one of the deaths was "death by bed strings" that image just haunted me, I even slept on the floor at some point.

You people say you have no issue with the dislike button being used, then when people dislike a video you get upset and blame it on trolls and ask questions like "Why would someone dislike this?" Maybe because it's a list that's very subjective and bound to cause people disagree with him? I know it might seem petty and maybe it is, but people have the right to say that they don't like his video, man. I get that disagreeing with him shouldn't automatically equal a dislike, but that's just how people are. You have to deal with it. Opinions are touchy subjects.

Yeah, and the relationships are super relatable and realistic, like when Mordecai spent pretty much the entire show building the courage to ask Margaret out, and when he does, she has to go to college far away, leaving him devastated
Mordecai and Rigby’s procrastination is so much more relatable than over the top pure hearted characters like Steven Universe and Finn even though Steven Universe and Adventure Time are two of my favorite shows. I think Josh would definitely see more in the show if he saw the last episode

Am I the only one who still likes Ed, Edd n Eddy even after PhantomStrider said he doesn't? A lot of people seem to dislike it in the comment section, and I never knew the show is that much hated. It almost fells like it is a guilty pleasure at this point for me. I'm sorry but I love Ed, Edd n Eddy, I always did and I still do.
There's NOTHING wrong with liking this show. As Strider articulated a bunch of times, his opinions need to be taken with buckets of salt. He's only stating that HE didn't like them, and that he might have missed something, or misunderstood it, or maybe it just wasn't his cup of tea. I do know of channels who preach their opinions like gospel but Strider in particular is very respectful of his fans in the sense that he articulates very well the fact that no, his word is not law. So it's wonderful that you enjoyed Ed, Edd n Eddy, and you don't need to feel like it has to be a guilty pleasure, neither do you need to feel sorry for it. All to our own, right? (I don't particularly have much of an opinion on this show myself, I was raised mostly on Disney Channel so there's that)

Well Strider. You said you wanted to know why everyone likes Ed Edd n Eddy, right? So I'll explain. The reason the cartoon appealed to many was the fact that the show managed to mirror our childhood. I mean we all grew up where we were outcasts who received unfair treatment from the in-crowd at some point, right? Moreover, it had just about enough oddball humor that could make even adults laugh out loud. Most importantly, unlike shows such as Ren & Stimpy, it didn't go too overboard with the gross-out humor, and the fourth wall break jokes were also very clever. Also, it really wasn't as repetitive as you may think. The thing is that the Eds manage to come up with different scams and told even more witty stories in the plots of the later episodes. As for the characters, Ed is lovable because in spite of his stupidity, he manages to give away funny one-liners randomly and has shown to have such a big heart and courage. And even though you might disagree, Ed is by far no worse than the likes of Peter Griffin or Patrick Star, because unlike those two characters, Ed never devolves into a callous jerk and almost always remains the lovable oaf everyone adores. He's not just about gross humor. He also shows many hidden depths once you actually dig deeper into his character. Edd is loved because of his politeness and high moral standards with relatable flaws up his sleeve as well, which is why he gets so many fangirls of course, and he most definitely never gets manipulated. Just reluctantly loyal to his fellow companions. As badly as he gets treated, he still takes it to the chin, and if he is pushed far enough, that's when he puts his foot down. Overall, he's a good kid with an extremely likable personality. And while Eddy is a jerk, he does show that deep down, he still cares for his friends. If you watch the movie, his jerkassness stems from the physical abuse he has suffered from the hands of his older brother, and he was just acting like a jerk to get respect from the other kids, which of course failed miserably. Another thing is that the three Eds reflected in the creator's own traits. Ed is based on his sloppy tendencies and oddball humor, Edd is based on his propensity to get a little nervous and obsession of order, and Eddy is based on his greedy side. Also, some of the kids were based on the children he himself grew up with. For example, Rolf is based off of him and his cousins since he was part of an Italian immigrant family and grew up in a first generation foreign household with the most bizarre ways of living. Jimmy is based on one of his cousins who was far in touch with his feminine side and would much rather hang out with girls instead. Now Jonny was based off of one of the creator's friends who was a loner holding on to his blanket. His wooden friend Plank was treated like an inanimate object who was brought to life by Jonny's own imagination. Also, the reason Kevin is a bully to the Eds is the fact that Eddy's scams caused him a lot of pain and he's grown a hatred towards him since. He only really hates Eddy when you look back at it. He's got nothing against the other two Eds since he has been seen to have a friendly conversation with Edd on two occasions. Also, he's actually a good guy to the other kids on the block. Overall, Ed Edd n Eddy appealed to others because of its unique animation and clever jokes, as well as the character development of others. I think you just only watched a few episodes from the first season and haven't really dug deeper into the rest of the episodes. I mean I'm not trying to change your opinion on this show, Strider. I'm just simply giving out a lucid explanation on how the show was a success on CN and how it appealed to many viewers. It was a unique cartoon during its time. After all, it's one of those shows you just really need to look beyond the surface to see why it's got such a positive consensus. I'm just glad you're not one of those rabid Ed Edd n Eddy haters who would verbally attack anyone who likes the show.
+mitcheltheman13 Great description man. Obviously, EEnE isn't gonna appeal to everyone, but there's a reason why it was appealing to many CN fans. I guess you just simply gotta look past the wall to actually get how clever the humor in the show is and how colorful the characters are. Well, let's weigh in~ 5. Yeah, graphic violence paired with mean spirited execution (is that a pun or a double entendre? ENPUNDRE!) can get pretty draining after the seventh time, I agree with ya there. It's marshmallow version of a snuff film, and I've yet to understand what purpose THOSE serve.. snuff films, not marshmallows. 4. As a life-long Texan from Dallas, I can tell ya some of the show's appeal comes from something you get in this neck of the woods. My only complaint is the use of the word 'redneck', the Hills and company are a bit different than that, but I ain't got the word for it. Anyways, yeah, not everyone's can of beer but still a fine show. 3. My mom told me when she was a kid watching the show, Scooby Doo used to actually spook people; she recalled the Mummy episode where he goes "Cooooiin... cooooiin.." sticking in her mind a while. I feel this one's a generational thing, but I personally love the Mysteries Inc. and the original for their better writing (Inc.) and timeless quality (Orig). Still though, kinda hokey, you're not wrong. 2. I actually haven't seen this one, but again, feels generational like Scooby Doo, only backwards. I've heard encouraging things and I wound up liking Adventure Time eventually, so I can't weigh in, but I know whatcha mean.. visually and vocally, it looks like it could come off as homogeneous. Hopefully I'm wrong! 1. FINALLY! knew I'd find one I'd disagree with~ look, show's hairy, gross, coarse, abrasive, and crude, but that was part of a passing syndrome, the 90s sidewalk show. A lot of us grew up as mean-spirited little sht*ts during that time and it became kinda endearing to watch as we dove headlong into our late teens and on to adulthood. Again, hardly a perfect show by any pitch, but it felt good to watch and the chaotic nature of the episodes execution at least kept ME coming back, so that proves I'm a booger. If you want a real closure to the show's personalities, I'd actually suggest catching their TV movie, for that real Stand By Me feeling.. plus, (spoiler alert), you get to watch Johnny get the fuzz beaten outta him at the end. I loved Eds when I was a kid, but I definitely got frustrated with the mean-spiritedness of it at times. Nothing brought my blood to a boil more than seeing the Kankers and Kevin almost never get their comeuppance.
Have you ever seen Ed Edd and Eddy's Big Picture Show? In my opinion, this TV movie/ series finale actually has some heart to it. Like, there's actually 2 separate scenes where Eddy breaks down and cries, which never happened in the show. It actually makes us pity Eddy for what his brother did to him, and how he actually values his friends friendship. Even if you don't like the show, this TV movie is better than any of the bad episodes. But hey, that's my opinion.
I recently got into Ed Edd n Eddy. I agree with you about the voices (Double D has the most bearable voice on the show) side characters and mucus colored animation, but somehow I can mostly look past all that because it's funny and Ed and Double D are fun to watch. Maybe it's just that I love polar opposite characters bouncing off each other, but whatever.

I like the old scooby doo like Vampire's Rock or Cyberchase and the shows from the 90s I don't like the newer scooby doo but I do like mystery incorperated
Happy tree friends was just bad and it kind of makes me sad that it exists at all. it's like the "Oh my god, you killed Kenny!" joke from south park, but none of the characters are spared from being massacred in horrific ways. at least with the kenny joke it was unexpected or foreshadowed but wasn't the main plot of each episode and after a while they stopped using it as much. if HTF had several episodes between the mindless violence where they didn't get slaughtered at all, it could have been an enjoyably twisted show, but it squanders that with the mindless killings every single episode and what's worse is they hint at two of the characters having a thing for each other but one of them is a war vet with ptsd so the common theme with him is that he'll slip into these war flashbacks and kill everyone including the female character he supposedly likes. it doesn't help that a majority of the characters seem like that they're kindergartners. Scooby doo... i like scooby doo and everyone is entitled to their opinion, if we're talking about the incarnation that looks like the artists stole family guys art style, then i can 100% agree, but some of the incarnations before it, i have to say i disagree.

Well, I always liked the show because I just love gore. I don’t find it disturbing, I find it enjoyable. I kinda always loved cartoon gore, and I know because I fell in love with the show when I was nine- It’s kinda the whole point of the show. It’s meant to entertain people that enjoy gore and blood and all that. It was interesting to hear your opinion though, and I understand the show isn’t for everyone. I mean, hecc, it’s adorable creatures getting brutally murdered, no one should expect everyone to enjoy it.
Cameron then if you like anime, check out Blood C, Elfin Lied, or corpse party, gore fest animes, blood c has vampires i think, Elfin Lied has some mutation that only creates females with a horrific gift of invisible arms and blood lust, and the last one, haunted school, teenagers summoned into basically a hellish ghost filled school where a massive massacre happened and the ghosts there want to kill them too. i warn you on both Elfin Lied and corpse party, both of those animes don't shy away from killing kids, i mean young kids not teenagers.
I agree with Happy Tree Friends, Scooby Doo and Ed Edd And Eddy to be on this list. But King of the Hill and Regular Show are some of my favourite animated shows of all time but im not gonna hate on this video because we all have different tastes. And i dont get why this has 7k dislikes like why would u dislike this its just a man giving his own personal opinions and we all have different shows we love or hate.
The bully, Kevin did kind of have a reason to be a jerk. The Eds were constantly trying to scam him and the other neighborhood kids. Also the show actually does improve in art style and voice acting starting in Season 2. You have to check it out to see for yourself.
Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy, really? First off Danny (the creator) was dared to make a cartoon for kids) and he first pitched to Nickelodeon, but that failed and then he gave it to Cartoon Network. Ed's character isn't eating, what you shown of him eating his mattress was out of context, there's a set up and there's the payoff, but you cut straight to the payoff, ugh. Johnny 2x4 doesn't have Plank for a "joke" that's just who he is and Plank is actually a legitimate character, the cartoon is set in the suburbs of the cul de sac for a reason and there was more than one setting, in season 5 they went to school. The reason why this show is considered as classic is because it's use of humour, it's hilarious and the reason why people hate it is because they think it's stupid, that's it. The sound design is also great, when ever a certain character is on screen there's a sound that sums them up instantly, the music is also appropriate to the situation as well. Voice acting is another thing, since it's the first season, the voices would be gruff because it's just starting out, but after that, the voice acting is well done and it does fit their characters, also the humour isn't gross out, there may be some, but most of the humour is slapstick, fourth wall jokes, innuendos and generally really funny stuff, sure it's not the best Cartoon Network show, but it's definitely in the top 10. Also, it got an award for best television animation and that was for season 1
Kidvette2004 Look, I get why people won't enjoy Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy as I do and I'm also very aware of his opinion, but that scene he used when Ed ate his mattress, he cut out the build up leading to the payoff, if you're going to show why you don't like it then actually SHOW why you don't like it rather than just use scenes out of context. For example, some people don't like it because of how mean spirited it is, how Kevin can be a Karma Houdini does annoy me and the Kanker sisters only motive is to rape the Eds, but for some people, including myself it works. Now if the show followed the same formula, it would've been one of the weaker cartoons, but it's actually one of Cartoon Network's strongest, not because they relied on any magic or grand adventures, it works because of the witty dialogue, the art style, humour and writing (at times there ARE some dude, but that's not until somewhere in season 4), but I still don't understand his thing with this apparent "gross out"
C. SpaDinner Bruh, did you even watch the beginning of the video? Also, do you remember the episode where Eddy ate a SLIDE just because he had a SPLINTER? Can't say there was anything before that was beneficial to that scenario.
I did watch the beginning and that wasn't Eddy, it was Ed, also it was a pebble on his shoe, not a splinter AND he was on a rampage. Also yes Eddy had a splinter from a wooden coin that Kevin gave him.
I'm gonna be rather blunt here at the risk of sounding pretentious but you just don't understand EEnE Phantom. I can understand seeing the odd bad episode of it back when you were a kid and deciding that you dislike it but the way you talk of it now it really does seem like you haven't seen it since then. I also think that you may have gotten rather spoiled by the storytelling in modern cartoons, what with their deeply intertwining stories, and have thus forgotten the charms of the status quo. There is also the commonly accepted fact that EEnE is trying to emulate childhood, albeit in an over the top cartoonish way. Thus the often crude but smooth animation and thus some of the character tropes. You complain about how Kevin (the bully) has no real character development but that's the thing, he's a bully. Not all bullies are like Nelson or Pacifica who do it as a form of escapism, some do it just to appear cool or to prove their "superiority" over the ones they bully.
As for the comedy in the show, that is really the part where your lack of knowledge regarding it rears its ugly head. The premise of the show is essentially to put a number of personalities in surreal scenarios and have them work off of eachother. Seriously though mate, you make it sound like this is ProtoMega Babies or something. Aside from the occasional drool-joke on Ed's part there really isn't much that's meant to gross you out. And yes, I know that squeamishness takes many forms but there really is a point where you transition into a complete pansy regarding it. EEnE can actually be very amusing in its visuals alone and the verbal humor can churn out some straight gold here and there. (Seriously, I know that comedy is a spectrum but if Rolf doesn't make you laugh then quite frankly you have no soul). Now I'm not saying the show is perfect by any means but damn dude it really doesn't seem like you know what you're talking about when you're talking about EEnE.
I don't mean to get deep on something as silly as Ed, Edd, and Eddy...but is Kevin really a bully, when you think about it? The only ones he was ever really mean to are the same people that EVERYONE in the show was mean to...the Eds. Kevin is the 'cool kid' sure...but...I don't think he's any more of a bully than some of the others lol.
I binge Ed, Edd N Eddy every summer because it brings back how fun summer vacation was when we all played outside and wanted to actually do stuff that doesn’t involve TV or video games.

I feel like if you didn't like Ed Edd n eddy you watched Spongebob but if you couldn't watch spongebob you watched Ed Edd n Eddy. Personally I loved both.
The reason why Scooby-Doo continues over 40 years is because it makes people more observant without even knowing it, the characters became smarter off of it and it teaches kids and other people how to solve a good mystery.
AH! You better say nice things about King of the Hill! Surprisingly good character development, fun premises, and a perfect blend of silliness and subtlety.
While I have to disagree with the #4, 3, 2 and 1, I gotta agree with #5 (Happy Tree Friends). Like I said in 'Worst Cartoon Theme Songs', Happy Tree Friends is all about cute baby animals getting mutilated, using realistic violence and blood as a tool. While I have to agree that the characters boomed in popularity, it can give people blood-screwed flashbacks, so you can be so annoyed and hate at the characters for you can uncomfortably enjoy their decapitation and mutilation. For this reason, it was banned in Russia. Like I also said, imagine if children watching this show can walk into this one, while having no idea that a smart blue aardvark (Sniffles) is going to have his head exploded, resulting in a mess of blood and gore, or that a yellow rabbit (Cuddles) will get his eyes out grotesquely with a vacuum cleaner, had his whole body explode, resulting in a pool of blood. Happy Tree Friends, while popular to this day, is all about the unapologetically rotten raspberry that is children's animal characters are being killed by using realistic deaths, shock valus, blood and gore as a tool, and some of them deaths are very disturbing and disgusting. And its widely popular by _kids_ in...LATIN AMERICA. Ugh...just look at these comments because they remember the show *from their childhood.* Need I say more?!
Ed edd and eddy was very popular because it had such a simple premise which was good and I enjoyed this a lot - But it was straight forward enough it took 2 - 3 episodes to get used to
For regular show I would agree that the dialogue is kinda awkward, but it does get better, and I'd say around season 6 or 7 is when it really hits it's stride and the writing is amazing

Under Squad I am not a fan of Ed, Edd, and Eddy. To me the show was boring. I don't remember laughing once, but I do remember the art style making me uncomfortable majority of the time, especially when gross out was involved.
I can see where you're coming from with Ed Edd and Eddy. For the most part, the story if the three Eds was quite repetitive, I didn't like the other characters much and the design was kind of bland to me. But I think the main reason why it was so popular was because of the genuine friendship between them and you wonder if they will get jawbreakers using whatever contraption Double D built. Granted, in the later season's Ed was dumber than when he was first introduced and you begin to question the friendship between the Eds, especially between Double D and Eddy. Double D does grow a backbone in the end and doesn't take up Eddy’s bs especially in the movie where he finally blows up at Eddy and we do see Eddy’s emotional reaction to it. Then we finally meet Eddy’s brother, someone who had actually influenced Eddy to scam the other kids and someone who Eddy built up to be this cool amazing person that Eddy aspired to be. Turns out he was not the cool older brother Eddy made him out to be. In fact, he actually purposely hurt Eddy upon finally seeing him after being gone for who knows how long. Eddy wanted to be like his brother so he could be cool, something he thought he wasn't. Also, Kevin is justified with being a little mean to the Eds considering that they're trying to scam them out of their money but he himself is a bit of a jerk at times. I will say that the show is not great sometimes but it could have been worse.

What the hell is everyone hating on SU for? What, you only watched the first episode then quit? Watch the other episodes like Jailbreak and you'll see that the show has character arc, development, emotion, everything it needs for a good show. God damn. But if you hate the show for that annoying, worthless, stupid 'character' called Peridot and the disgusting ship named Lapidot, I don't blame you.
Maybe the show just isn't your taste then. By the end of the first season, I had enjoyed the characters, settings, music, and of course the developing plot.
I totally see where you're coming from with these opinions and I completely respect it, even if my opinion is different. 5. That one was super weird for me growing up. The shock value is definitely there and I was always curious about what was going to happen, even if towards the end I was extremely unsettled by it. That cartoon is not for everyone and seems to have the most split opinions on it. 4. Honestly I haven't watched enough of it to give a real opinion. The animation feels a little still to me, but in a way I guess it adds to the weird charm the show seems to have. 3. I never really liked that show much as a kid. 96 remakes is way too many-- I didn't even know they had 96 remakes until watching this-- and there's only so much you can do with the same basic formula.That show was never really my thing growing up, and I only ever watched it with one of my childhood friends, who absolutely loved it. 2. I get where you're coming from with this one. I think the reason it's so loved is because when it came out it was such a breath of fresh air. This and Adventure Time marked the beginning of a new era in cartoons. It's so completely unique to every other show, and seeing how out of hand normal situations can get in a matter of minutes is always interesting. I don't like many of the characters either, and some of the basic plot points do annoy me at times (I couldn't stand the romantic subplot that took up a good portion of the show with Mordecai and Margaret) but all in all, it's such a unique show and I think that's what I like about it so much. Again, I totally understand why you dislike it, I felt the same way at first. 1. My opinion on this one is mostly the same as it is for #2. The show is completely unique and has it's own interesting spin on what could be basic situations. Growing up I didn't like many of the characters, and the gross out humor was a bit too much at times, but the show was something unlike everything else. It's unique and really captures the way young kids view the world or perceive certain things. The art could be a bit better in some places, but the animation is smooth and the art is unlike any other cartoon I have ever watched. I grew up on that show, so many I'm coming more from a place of nostalgia, but I absolutely adored that show.
When I was little like about 6 or 7 I used to love happy tree friends, and now thanks to reaction channels I am traumatised (because they reacted to it) Edit: Ed, Edd and Eddy used to be AWESOME, and then by season 5 it went to the rubbish bin Edit2: 8:49 EXEPT Ed, in season. 1 2 3 and 4 he was so likeable and kind, and In season 5 the people made him dumb as hell

I think what I like the most about regular show Ed Edd n eddy and King of the hill as they can be weird yes but they have clever writing and are hilarious to me but the characters feel real when they are being realistic. Maybe it's just me but I like mordecai and rigby because they don't want to do anything but do what they find fun which is what i want to do and I know so many people offline and online who rather do what they want (not saying it's a good thing yes school and work is important and I do them) king of the hills Suburban lifestyle appeals to me because it feels like a real one. And Ed Edd n Eddy feels like real kids living in a cul-:a-sac living and interacting with each other. They play with each other have fun together hang out get mad at each other get annoyed. To me they feel real despite their quirky and odd manurisms and personalities and where their actions lead up to.
I've never heard of #5 but i actually agree with all your stuff except ed and regular show. I like regular show for its deep episodes a great one i'd recommend is Skips Story. Ed edd and eddy i just liked the comedy with all the girls trying to kiss double d, but i respect your opinion and i understand your points about the shows , still love your content :)
I used research and the creator of ed, edd, and eddy was dared to do a kid show and some of his shorts are adult themed I guess so I think he tried his best. NOTE: I never watched this show because it was canceled months after I was born.
I personally don't like happy tree friends because of the gore. I can handle gore when it's done lightly, but I get really nauseous when it's happening every five seconds, becoming more realistic and grusome.

I agree with the entire list, but I have a soft spot for Scooby-Doo. I loved Scooby Doo on Zombie Island. That was when they finally decided to get creative with the story. Other than that, I hated everything else. I never really liked Ed, Edd, and Eddy. The animation just bugged me to no end.

Regular show is honestly one of my favorite cartoons in existence. It’s one of the most relatable shows I’ve seen, and I love its formula of the characters just living their daily lives with something completely IRREGULAR happening. Each characters gets more and more developed as the seasons go on and it’s without a doubt one of the riskiest Cartoon Network shows. It also had a a lot of adult appeal. Seriously I can’t believe the amount of jokes they got away with. Me and my dad would always have a fun time watching this show, but I think the most important thing I liked about regular show is the fact that it taught me to be a good friend and to give chances to the ones who truly appreciate and love you. I respect your opinion but I definitely disagree.

If I may explain the reasoning for Ed, Edd and Eddy love, it's often cited as a great tribute to childhood and the memories that in entails (including the sometimes exaggerations that we make up). At the end of the day the show is supposed to be "this is how you remember childhood. Running around, trying everything duck the first day of school, making up dumb clubs in the backyard, etc. they really drove this point home with one of the final endings ( there were technically a two episodes made as finales, and one TV movie) shows that the entire show may or may not have been the Eds reminiscing about their childhood as old men. Children are going to sometimes be selfish and stupid and give into peer pressure, because they're kids.
Also, the movie was incredible. It gave Eddy a lot of depth and really put an emphasis on how close Double D and Eddy are. That part wasn't relevant, I just like gushing about that movie.

King of the Hill is pretty lowkey, which is really refreshing compared to the Simpsons or Family Guy. I'd recommend watching some of the Bobby or Dale centered episodes.

The characters in Regular Show do get character development

Yeah, and the relationships are super relatable and realistic, like when Mordecai spent pretty much the entire show building the courage to ask Margaret out, and when he does, she has to go to college far away, leaving him devastated
Mordecai and Rigby’s procrastination is so much more relatable than over the top pure hearted characters like Steven Universe and Finn even though Steven Universe and Adventure Time are two of my favorite shows. I think Josh would definitely see more in the show if he saw the last episode

There's NOTHING wrong with liking this show. As Strider articulated a bunch of times, his opinions need to be taken with buckets of salt. He's only stating that HE didn't like them, and that he might have missed something, or misunderstood it, or maybe it just wasn't his cup of tea.
I do know of channels who preach their opinions like gospel but Strider in particular is very respectful of his fans in the sense that he articulates very well the fact that no, his word is not law.
So it's wonderful that you enjoyed Ed, Edd n Eddy, and you don't need to feel like it has to be a guilty pleasure, neither do you need to feel sorry for it. All to our own, right?

Well Strider. You said you wanted to know why everyone likes Ed Edd n Eddy, right? So I'll explain.
The reason the cartoon appealed to many was the fact that the show managed to mirror our childhood. I mean we all grew up where we were outcasts who received unfair treatment from the in-crowd at some point, right? Moreover, it had just about enough oddball humor that could make even adults laugh out loud. Most importantly, unlike shows such as Ren & Stimpy, it didn't go too overboard with the gross-out humor, and the fourth wall break jokes were also very clever. Also, it really wasn't as repetitive as you may think. The thing is that the Eds manage to come up with different scams and told even more witty stories in the plots of the later episodes. As for the characters, Ed is lovable because in spite of his stupidity, he manages to give away funny one-liners randomly and has shown to have such a big heart and courage. And even though you might disagree, Ed is by far no worse than the likes of Peter Griffin or Patrick Star, because unlike those two characters, Ed never devolves into a callous jerk and almost always remains the lovable oaf everyone adores. He's not just about gross humor. He also shows many hidden depths once you actually dig deeper into his character. Edd is loved because of his politeness and high moral standards with relatable flaws up his sleeve as well, which is why he gets so many fangirls of course, and he most definitely never gets manipulated. Just reluctantly loyal to his fellow companions. As badly as he gets treated, he still takes it to the chin, and if he is pushed far enough, that's when he puts his foot down. Overall, he's a good kid with an extremely likable personality. And while Eddy is a jerk, he does show that deep down, he still cares for his friends. If you watch the movie, his jerkassness stems from the physical abuse he has suffered from the hands of his older brother, and he was just acting like a jerk to get respect from the other kids, which of course failed miserably. Another thing is that the three Eds reflected in the creator's own traits. Ed is based on his sloppy tendencies and oddball humor, Edd is based on his propensity to get a little nervous and obsession of order, and Eddy is based on his greedy side. Also, some of the kids were based on the children he himself grew up with. For example, Rolf is based off of him and his cousins since he was part of an Italian immigrant family and grew up in a first generation foreign household with the most bizarre ways of living. Jimmy is based on one of his cousins who was far in touch with his feminine side and would much rather hang out with girls instead. Now Jonny was based off of one of the creator's friends who was a loner holding on to his blanket. His wooden friend Plank was treated like an inanimate object who was brought to life by Jonny's own imagination. Also, the reason Kevin is a bully to the Eds is the fact that Eddy's scams caused him a lot of pain and he's grown a hatred towards him since. He only really hates Eddy when you look back at it. He's got nothing against the other two Eds since he has been seen to have a friendly conversation with Edd on two occasions. Also, he's actually a good guy to the other kids on the block. Overall, Ed Edd n Eddy appealed to others because of its unique animation and clever jokes, as well as the character development of others. I think you just only watched a few episodes from the first season and haven't really dug deeper into the rest of the episodes. I mean I'm not trying to change your opinion on this show, Strider. I'm just simply giving out a lucid explanation on how the show was a success on CN and how it appealed to many viewers. It was a unique cartoon during its time. After all, it's one of those shows you just really need to look beyond the surface to see why it's got such a positive consensus. I'm just glad you're not one of those rabid Ed Edd n Eddy haters who would verbally attack anyone who likes the show.

Well, let's weigh in~
5. Yeah, graphic violence paired with mean spirited execution (is that a pun or a double entendre? ENPUNDRE!) can get pretty draining after the seventh time, I agree with ya there. It's marshmallow version of a snuff film, and I've yet to understand what purpose THOSE serve.. snuff films, not marshmallows.
4. As a life-long Texan from Dallas, I can tell ya some of the show's appeal comes from something you get in this neck of the woods. My only complaint is the use of the word 'redneck', the Hills and company are a bit different than that, but I ain't got the word for it. Anyways, yeah, not everyone's can of beer but still a fine show.
3. My mom told me when she was a kid watching the show, Scooby Doo used to actually spook people; she recalled the Mummy episode where he goes "Cooooiin... cooooiin.." sticking in her mind a while. I feel this one's a generational thing, but I personally love the Mysteries Inc. and the original for their better writing (Inc.) and timeless quality (Orig). Still though, kinda hokey, you're not wrong.
2. I actually haven't seen this one, but again, feels generational like Scooby Doo, only backwards. I've heard encouraging things and I wound up liking Adventure Time eventually, so I can't weigh in, but I know whatcha mean.. visually and vocally, it looks like it could come off as homogeneous. Hopefully I'm wrong!
1. FINALLY! knew I'd find one I'd disagree with~ look, show's hairy, gross, coarse, abrasive, and crude, but that was part of a passing syndrome, the 90s sidewalk show. A lot of us grew up as mean-spirited little sht*ts during that time and it became kinda endearing to watch as we dove headlong into our late teens and on to adulthood. Again, hardly a perfect show by any pitch, but it felt good to watch and the chaotic nature of the episodes execution at least kept ME coming back, so that proves I'm a booger. If you want a real closure to the show's personalities, I'd actually suggest catching their TV movie, for that real Stand By Me feeling.. plus, (spoiler alert), you get to watch Johnny get the fuzz beaten outta him at the end.

I loved Eds when I was a kid, but I definitely got frustrated with the mean-spiritedness of it at times. Nothing brought my blood to a boil more than seeing the Kankers and Kevin almost never get their comeuppance.
Their lack of regard for authority is also why this show wasn't well-received in Japan.

Have you ever seen Ed Edd and Eddy's Big Picture Show? In my opinion, this TV movie/ series finale actually has some heart to it. Like, there's actually 2 separate scenes where Eddy breaks down and cries, which never happened in the show. It actually makes us pity Eddy for what his brother did to him, and how he actually values his friends friendship. Even if you don't like the show, this TV movie is better than any of the bad episodes. But hey, that's my opinion.

I recently got into Ed Edd n Eddy. I agree with you about the voices (Double D has the most bearable voice on the show) side characters and mucus colored animation, but somehow I can mostly look past all that because it's funny and Ed and Double D are fun to watch. Maybe it's just that I love polar opposite characters bouncing off each other, but whatever.
I watched Ed Edd and Eddy and courage the cowardly Dog multiple times on checkered past.

Happy tree friends was just bad and it kind of makes me sad that it exists at all. it's like the "Oh my god, you killed Kenny!" joke from south park, but none of the characters are spared from being massacred in horrific ways. at least with the kenny joke it was unexpected or foreshadowed but wasn't the main plot of each episode and after a while they stopped using it as much. if HTF had several episodes between the mindless violence where they didn't get slaughtered at all, it could have been an enjoyably twisted show, but it squanders that with the mindless killings every single episode and what's worse is they hint at two of the characters having a thing for each other but one of them is a war vet with ptsd so the common theme with him is that he'll slip into these war flashbacks and kill everyone including the female character he supposedly likes. it doesn't help that a majority of the characters seem like that they're kindergartners.
Scooby doo... i like scooby doo and everyone is entitled to their opinion, if we're talking about the incarnation that looks like the artists stole family guys art style, then i can 100% agree, but some of the incarnations before it, i have to say i disagree.

then if you like anime, check out Blood C, Elfin Lied, or corpse party, gore fest animes, blood c has vampires i think, Elfin Lied has some mutation that only creates females with a horrific gift of invisible arms and blood lust, and the last one, haunted school, teenagers summoned into basically a hellish ghost filled school where a massive massacre happened and the ghosts there want to kill them too. i warn you on both Elfin Lied and corpse party, both of those animes don't shy away from killing kids, i mean young kids not teenagers.

But King of the Hill and Regular Show are some of my favourite animated shows of all time but im not gonna hate on this video because we all have different tastes. First off Danny (the creator) was dared to make a cartoon for kids) and he first pitched to Nickelodeon, but that failed and then he gave it to Cartoon Network.
Ed's character isn't eating, what you shown of him eating his mattress was out of context, there's a set up and there's the payoff, but you cut straight to the payoff, ugh.
Johnny 2x4 doesn't have Plank for a "joke" that's just who he is and Plank is actually a legitimate character, the cartoon is set in the suburbs of the cul de sac for a reason and there was more than one setting, in season 5 they went to school.
The reason why this show is considered as classic is because it's use of humour, it's hilarious and the reason why people hate it is because they think it's stupid, that's it.
The sound design is also great, when ever a certain character is on screen there's a sound that sums them up instantly, the music is also appropriate to the situation as well.
Voice acting is another thing, since it's the first season, the voices would be gruff because it's just starting out, but after that, the voice acting is well done and it does fit their characters, also the humour isn't gross out, there may be some, but most of the humour is slapstick, fourth wall jokes, innuendos and generally really funny stuff, sure it's not the best Cartoon Network show, but it's definitely in the top 10.
Also, it got an award for best television animation and that was for season 1

Kidvette2004 Look, I get why people won't enjoy Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy as I do and I'm also very aware of his opinion, but that scene he used when Ed ate his mattress, he cut out the build up leading to the payoff, if you're going to show why you don't like it then actually SHOW why you don't like it rather than just use scenes out of context.
For example, some people don't like it because of how mean spirited it is, how Kevin can be a Karma Houdini does annoy me and the Kanker sisters only motive is to rape the Eds, but for some people, including myself it works.
Now if the show followed the same formula, it would've been one of the weaker cartoons, but it's actually one of Cartoon Network's strongest, not because they relied on any magic or grand adventures, it works because of the witty dialogue, the art style, humour and writing (at times there ARE some dude, but that's not until somewhere in season 4), but I still don't understand his thing with this apparent "gross out"

I'm gonna be rather blunt here at the risk of sounding pretentious but you just don't understand EEnE Phantom. I can understand seeing the odd bad episode of it back when you were a kid and deciding that you dislike it but the way you talk of it now it really does seem like you haven't seen it since then. I also think that you may have gotten rather spoiled by the storytelling in modern cartoons, what with their deeply intertwining stories, and have thus forgotten the charms of the status quo.
There is also the commonly accepted fact that EEnE is trying to emulate childhood, albeit in an over the top cartoonish way. Thus the often crude but smooth animation and thus some of the character tropes. You complain about how Kevin (the bully) has no real character development but that's the thing, he's a bully. Not all bullies are like Nelson or Pacifica who do it as a form of escapism, some do it just to appear cool or to prove their "superiority" over the ones they bully.
As for the comedy in the show, that is really the part where your lack of knowledge regarding it rears its ugly head. The premise of the show is essentially to put a number of personalities in surreal scenarios and have them work off of eachother.
Seriously though mate, you make it sound like this is ProtoMega Babies or something. Aside from the occasional drool-joke on Ed's part there really isn't much that's meant to gross you out. And yes, I know that squeamishness takes many forms but there really is a point where you transition into a complete pansy regarding it. EEnE can actually be very amusing in its visuals alone and the verbal humor can churn out some straight gold here and there. (Seriously, I know that comedy is a spectrum but if Rolf doesn't make you laugh then quite frankly you have no soul).

The reason why Scooby-Doo continues over 40 years is because it makes people more observant without even knowing it, the characters became smarter off of it and it teaches kids and other people how to solve a good mystery.

AH! You better say nice things about King of the Hill! Surprisingly good character development, fun premises, and a perfect blend of silliness and subtlety.
While I have to disagree with the #4, 3, 2 and 1, I gotta agree with #5 (Happy Tree Friends). Like I said in 'Worst Cartoon Theme Songs', Happy Tree Friends is all about cute baby animals getting mutilated, using realistic violence and blood as a tool. While I have to agree that the characters boomed in popularity, it can give people blood-screwed flashbacks, so you can be so annoyed and hate at the characters for you can uncomfortably enjoy their decapitation and mutilation. For this reason, it was banned in Russia.
Like I also said, imagine if children watching this show can walk into this one, while having no idea that a smart blue aardvark (Sniffles) is going to have his head exploded, resulting in a mess of blood and gore, or that a yellow rabbit (Cuddles) will get his eyes out grotesquely with a vacuum cleaner, had his whole body explode, resulting in a pool of blood.
Happy Tree Friends, while popular to this day, is all about the unapologetically rotten raspberry that is children's animal characters are being killed by using realistic deaths, shock valus, blood and gore as a tool, and some of them deaths are very disturbing and disgusting. And its widely popular by _kids_ in...LATIN AMERICA. Ugh...just look at these comments because they remember the show *from their childhood.* Need I say more?!

Under Squad I am not a fan of Ed, Edd, and Eddy. To me the show was boring. I don't remember laughing once, but I do remember the art style making me uncomfortable majority of the time, especially when gross out was involved.

I can see where you're coming from with Ed Edd and Eddy. For the most part, the story if the three Eds was quite repetitive, I didn't like the other characters much and the design was kind of bland to me. But I think the main reason why it was so popular was because of the genuine friendship between them and you wonder if they will get jawbreakers using whatever contraption Double D built.
Granted, in the later season's Ed was dumber than when he was first introduced and you begin to question the friendship between the Eds, especially between Double D and Eddy. Double D does grow a backbone in the end and doesn't take up Eddy’s bs especially in the movie where he finally blows up at Eddy and we do see Eddy’s emotional reaction to it.
Then we finally meet Eddy’s brother, someone who had actually influenced Eddy to scam the other kids and someone who Eddy built up to be this cool amazing person that Eddy aspired to be. Turns out he was not the cool older brother Eddy made him out to be. In fact, he actually purposely hurt Eddy upon finally seeing him after being gone for who knows how long. Eddy wanted to be like his brother so he could be cool, something he thought he wasn't.

5. That one was super weird for me growing up. The shock value is definitely there and I was always curious about what was going to happen, even if towards the end I was extremely unsettled by it. That cartoon is not for everyone and seems to have the most split opinions on it.
4. Honestly I haven't watched enough of it to give a real opinion. The animation feels a little still to me, but in a way I guess it adds to the weird charm the show seems to have.

I never really liked that show much as a kid. 96 remakes is way too many-- I didn't even know they had 96 remakes until watching this-- and there's only so much you can do with the same basic formula.That show was never really my thing growing up, and I only ever watched it with one of my childhood friends, who absolutely loved it.
2. I get where you're coming from with this one. I think the reason it's so loved is because when it came out it was such a breath of fresh air. This and Adventure Time marked the beginning of a new era in cartoons. It's so completely unique to every other show, and seeing how out of hand normal situations can get in a matter of minutes is always interesting. I don't like many of the characters either, and some of the basic plot points do annoy me at times (I couldn't stand the romantic subplot that took up a good portion of the show with Mordecai and Margaret) but all in all, it's such a unique show and I think that's what I like about it so much. Again, I totally understand why you dislike it, I felt the same way at first.
1. My opinion on this one is mostly the same as it is for #2. The show is completely unique and has it's own interesting spin on what could be basic situations. Growing up I didn't like many of the characters, and the gross out humor was a bit too much at times, but the show was something unlike everything else. It's unique and really captures the way young kids view the world or perceive certain things. The art could be a bit better in some places, but the animation is smooth and the art is unlike any other cartoon I have ever watched. I grew up on that show, so many I'm coming more from a place of nostalgia, but I absolutely adored that show.

I think what I like the most about regular show Ed Edd n eddy and King of the hill as they can be weird yes but they have clever writing and are hilarious to me but the characters feel real when they are being realistic. Maybe it's just me but I like mordecai and rigby because they don't want to do anything but do what they find fun which is what i want to do and I know so many people offline and online who rather do what they want (not saying it's a good thing yes school and work is important and I do them) king of the hills Suburban lifestyle appeals to me because it feels like a real one. And Ed Edd n Eddy feels like real kids living in a cul-:a-sac living and interacting with each other. They play with each other have fun together hang out get mad at each other get annoyed. To me they feel real despite their quirky and odd manurisms and personalities and where their actions lead up to.
