Thanks for a great demo very well done. It seems that three or more of these panels would power the items indefinitely. Subbed😎👍❤️

Great no nonsense video as always. We are embarking on a van conversion for use mainly with mains hook up. As a back up what would you suggest as a charging system? Would like some solar, maybe b2b also. Getting a little confused with all the alternatives!
    Love your videos, thanks Jim

Hi Jim, glad you find the videos useful.
It really depends how you plan to use the van, where and in what seasons. If you would ever plan to stay in one place off-grid and mainly in the better weather seasons / locations, I would always suggest having some solar.
However, if you are likely to be moving from place to place regularly and travelling when/where the weather might be not so great a B2B or simpler VSR would probably be more helpful.
You could always have both and then you have coverage for both scenarios but they may be overkill.
I talk about various options in my 12v basics video here - if you've not seen it already!

As most of us Cali owners are now using 100W panels with MPPT would have been good to see a comparison of that. I read we'd likey get one more day vs the PWM.

I put a 150 watts solar panel on my van this week.
In full sun now summer time,I get 50 watts out of it,my battery pack runs a small compressor fridge that draws when it runs 65 watt,
Battery pack last for 4 days till it's empty
At night the fridge uses 25% of the battery pack.

great info, im trying to work out the sort of size solar and battery to basically power what you mention in this video but i also need to run a cpap around 8 hrs a night. any help with working this out would be appreciated. i only have a small dispatch van so not much roof space

      Hi, glad it was helpful.
Does the cpap run from 12v or will you be using an invertor?
There should be power ratings / voltages on the the adapters if you let me know what they are (or the make and model of CPAP) I’ll see what I can work out.

your battery monitor link page doesn't come up are there any other ones you would recommend from amazon?

    • @ExploreVanUK
      @ExploreVanUK  ปีที่แล้ว

Hi - I haven't tried any of the ones from Amazon, but although this one isn't wireless and uses a shunt rather than a hall effect sensor it gets good reviews and is a good price.

Time index 4:55, table of usage - the units of measurement are wrong in the third column
It should be Ah, not A/Hr.
    No division.
