Thanks. Good luck. There’s nothing like having a supply at a moment’s notice. Makes a lot better trip not having to worry about catching bait every time
I have a 250 gallon tank pretty much the same setup. I can keep shad in it for 2 months in the winter. However I can’t even keep bluegills or perch alive for a week in the summer.
Yea. It’s a lot of work in the summer. Bait is so easy around here in summer I usually don’t even bother. But boy it’s nice in the winter. Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it
I used stainless screws to hold it together. I used fiberglass resin to bind the parts together. Just the resin. I have a video on here on a livewell I built for the boat. In that video I talk about how to do it
Great job thanks for sharing I have a question or 2 if you don't mind on your intake in your tank with size is your holes at the bottom of your tank 1more you said gravity fed and I see it working my question is the stand pipe that feeds the dirty water to the filter box how do you determine the height of that pipe thanks for sharing
It’s a1 1/4” feed pipe. The holes in the intake are around 1/4” There about 5or 6 of them making a screen. The riser pipe determines your low water level. The higher the pipe the more water it takes to make the system work. I cut mine shorter so I don’t have to run it completely full. I got mine shorter so I can use the tank at half full Thank you for watching and commenting I appreciate it
I watched ur video on building a livewell. I stay in Greenville Sc and I'm having trouble finding the pvc sheet that you are talking about. I need help finding it. Can you help me. Thank you.
Got two questions? 1- Why did you put PVC in/on bottom of tank? 2- How is the filter system attached to the outside of tank? Screws & fiberglass ?? Just wondering due to water leaks. Sorry for all the questions. Hope all is well with your gang!
That was a fiberglass concrete form. I had to put a bottom in it. The filter is just a box I built and minted to the outside. It’s just got standard plumbing pipes. You could hang a bucket on the side and get the same thing
tropical fish stores sell water conditioner for aquarium use, it will eliminate chlorine instantly, and make tap water safe for fish. a small amount goes a long way.
I get mine from contractor supply stores. Not Lowe’s or homedepot. I use it for new home construction. I think 84 lumber can order it. The place I use is Carolina builders, they have several locations in north and South Carolina Thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it
I’ll do a video of it finished soon I hope. My brother wanted it so bad. I let him have it. Doing the work off video. But I did get another Starcraft in the deal. Lol.

Jeff, when making the filter box how did you join the PVC Board together? PVC Glue? How did you waterproof the joints to prevent leaking? Thanks

That’s awesome! What kinda barrel is that and how many gallons?
It was a fiberglass concrete form. I had to add a bottom to it. It’s a touch under 400 full. I put around 350 gallons in it.
Ok thanks so much, keep the videos coming always enjoy them!

Do you keep it in a temperature controlled environment? Use it year round? Looks like a great system. Thanks for posting this video
I keep it in my covered boat shed most the year.
