- Holiday travelers at Denver International Airport (DIA) were surprised with an entertaining treat when a flash mob broke out in Jeppesen Terminal on November 22nd, 2011. Approximately 100 dancers from Community-Minded Dance (cmDance) performed a Lindy Hop to a medley of Swing classics in the airport's Great Hall in Denver, Colorado. Video by Rich Clarkson & Assoc.

I work construction 6 days a week, 27 years old male, yellin and gettin yelled at all day, and this just made me so happy. haha thanks for the smiles
What I liked most about this video was seeing the young people of today dancing like this and enjoying it. Something that doesn't have to do with bumping and grinding.
Thank you. Sometimes I feel like the only person in the world you actually cares about this sort of stuff. It makes me feel a lot better watching flash mobs like this. It gives me some sort of hope for this century.

Wow! That's quite an accomplishment! My mother is going to be 84 in October and I'm lucky if she even remembers my name. I try to stay positive and look back at the "salad" days of listening to records and dancing all night! A much simpler time!
It is things like this that restore my faith in kids today.

I would give just about anything to be able to dance well to those songs.... I can only imagine being alive when that music was first coming out and what the dance halls must have been like..... How wonderful!!!!

What memories I had! My mom and dad are gone now at ages 90 and 91. I miss them so much, but I put on the 'ol big band cds that they had and the original records and smile.
I can't think of anything that gives more pure pleasure to anyone than a flash mob. It pure joy to watch.

It's amazing how some people can find something negative to say about anything ("about the troops...only performers...can't dance..." What a fun event to help brighten the day for travelers, friends & families - great job!

Fantastic - love the swing version of a flash mob! This took incredible amounts of preparation - I did a flash mob last summer and we worked for a couple of months to get it all coordinated. Well done and Thank you!
So nice to see these great hits being danced to like as they should and by young people who know how to dance. Not just two older women at a wedding doing the Lindy (sp?). This when dancing was dancing!
How much fun is that! What a nice gift for the travelers passing through at that time, and for the rest of us who were able to view this video.

I thought this was great. Looks like a really fun time. I just wish I could have been in Denver at the time to witness this in person. All the dancers looked like they were just having a grand time. Thanks to all the performers....you did good!

@nynoah Couldn't agree more - I respect and admire our troops, but there are also many other things in life! I was fortunate enough to be a part of the mob, and we were just so excited to brighten people's days! The holidays can be a difficult time for many, and I hope this lightened a few moods.
I seen flash mob in the line up. I enjoy watching them. I'd love to see one in person. None the less, I'm familiar with the dances, really enjoy that style of music (an era some have forgotten). I just posted it to Facebook, so that my friends who appreciate music and dance of this nature, to enjoy what I just did. Thanks for sharing.
This was so much fun, and for the future people who won't read the entire info for the video ;) we were invited to perform in this. The Arts and Culture Program at DIA contacted cmDance and asked to choreograph and perform in the receiving area. The TSA was fully aware that this was going to happen. :)
We need more airport entertainment, especially over the holidays, look at the crowd they gathered!

I think it's great that someone would do this for free on a holiday weekend and help to reduce the stress at the airport. All thenaysayers need to join scrooge...Bravo to the performers and thank you very much.. I didn't even have to spend time at the airport this year and I enjoyed... Keep up the good work! This is so FUN! I wish my jazz choir would arange something like this somewhere. We have been learning swing dance and it's so fun. These people did great!

This is the way we danced during WWII when the music was music & the singers sang so you could understand every word. The steps had names like the Lindy, Balboa, New Yorker, Truckin', & more. "In The Mood" my personal favorite. Our Sr. Prom was a Sock-Hop in the Boys Gym in the afternoon because of Blackouts. We had a lot of fun anyway. This Video is Fantastic. Did you see the smiles on their faces?
Oh I can only imagine what the foreigners were thinking at that moment...So this is America, they break into song and dance swing classics at the airports.

I can't believe this video got any dislikes. You may not like some of the choreography, or some music, or some of the dancing, or some of the dancers... but what a fun thing to do! And I bet organizing this was not an easy feat! To make 100 people dance in sync even a simple choreography is insanely difficult, not to mention getting them past the TSA molesters. Kudos, Denver! Well done!
