- DEPRECATED - This video is no longer applicable to CyberPanel due to the fact that they have replaced Rainloop with a different webmail client. Thanks for visiting!
How would you like to change your CyberPanel Rainloop webmail access to something like webmail.example.com or example.com/webmail? The most common response to this feature was always pointing to using the default URL or installing your own copy of Rainloop in another folder/website and using that. This video teaches you how to change the access address for the Rainloop webmail that is built-in to CyberPanel!

Glad you liked it! Thanks for taking the time to comment, I appreciate it :)
Unfortunately I think this no longer works on the updated versions of CyberPanel especially since they changed their email engine from Rainloop to SnappyMail.
I was able to successfully to remove the need for using port 8090, but after creating the necessary .htaccess file, the webmail page shows ‘the requested resource was not found on this server’.
All this worked on my older VPS instances, but not recently. Please advise thanks.
its not working... its still showing default template not rainloop email
great video, easy to follow. only downer is rain loop doesn't have an address book for email contacts.
Thanks! Yeah, Rainloop seems to be pretty basic webmail client overall.
Hello! Do you know if I can edit the snappymail login site? So that it looks nicer and inline with the theme and look of the main website? Just like an added touch of customised experience ?
It seems like the answer is yes: github.com/the-djmaze/snappymail/wiki/Custom-Themes -- I have not looked into this personally though.
Thank you so much!
You are quite welcome! I'm glad the content was worthy of achieving a comment :D
Good afternoon, thanks for the great video. After carrying out the steps to change the url and remove the port from the web address I was able to access the Cyber Panel control panel, phpmyadmin and webmail client. However, after inserting the processor in the configuration as described, I cannot access the websites through the cyberpanel interface. gives the error that the website does not exist. I can't access filemaneger either and the error is a blank page with an error message.
I removed the processor from the configuration and everything went back to normal.
That’s very strange! I haven’t run into that issue in any of my setups of this software.
friend, i created a VM in oracle cloud and configured cyberpanel.
The server is running normally with cloudflare. Receive emails normally, but when sending, the email never arrives at the destination. Can you give me an idea?
I'm not sure on this... have you checked the junk mail/SPAM folder of the recipients? This frequently happens to many of us doing self hosting for some reason. Another thing that could potentially cause such an issue is if you do NOT have all the necessary DNS records for mail so that your CyberPanel server is recognized as an authorized e-mail server for the domain. When you have CyberPanel serving DNS for the domain, it takes care of creating all the necessary records for you.
@@DimensionQuest Most of the cloud providers blocks port 25 for the scamming reasons.
Inbound mail ports are frequently blocked by default on some providers to discourage people from running mail servers. Some of those that block inbound ports by default will open them upon request. Outbound mail ports are rarely blocked for SMTP traffic since so many systems require the ability to send notifications.
You can use SMTP relay for sending emails.
When i create mail and try to login it says. Authentication error in rainloop. However i am able to login with admin credentials in rainloop?admin.
Please help me fix this. It is some encryption error. My server has Dovecot v2.2 when I looked online it says to upgrade to Dovecot v2.3 or higher to solve this issue.
Please help me to upgrade and solve the authentication error.
I’m not sure what is different for you in this case. As you see in my videos, it worked fine for me. A quick google search reveals that many people actually do face the same issue as you. It is best to head to the CyberPanel communities for such an issue. I’ll give you a head start, it looks like this thread tries to address the issue: community.cyberpanel.net/t/workaround-for-some-problems-can-t-login-in-rainloop/19882
How to install required php extension in cyber panel?
I haven't had a need to do that yet @Sun, but there appears to be some instructions here: cyberpanel.net/docs/install-uninstall-php-extensions/
@@DimensionQuest I tried but I couldn't find out required php extension. Eg. mbstring..
When I do this, I get 404 ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS error. Can you help me?
I haven't run into this, are you sure you didn't miss a step or perhaps have a typos somewhere?
@@DimensionQuest I didn't know we also created ssl for mail. Now my problem is solved.
You forgot to mention A name record entries for webmail and www.webmail in Domain DNS. Otherwise, it will through error and won't issue ssl
At the time of the recording (well over a year ago now...), when the site was created through CyberPanel, the necessary records were created automatically and things worked. I understand that things have changed quite significantly since I recorded this series of videos and I haven't been keeping up to date on it or even using it for over a year.
Thanks for very much watching, and taking the time to share your findings though. Hopefully it helps others trying to set up something similar.
Hi,
How can I access to my admin it says authentication failed.
Domain:8090/rainloop/?admin
I use user name as admin
Pass: 12345
I can access to my email but can't access to admin.
Thank you...
Not sure what you did so can't really provide much guidance here. I suggest trying the CyberPanel Communities
