😢 nons wont stand a chance even outstanding coz the boss up there say you hold on and cannot become specialists too fast. so wait and then gone the potential specialists
Will non-Malays be allowed to not only specialise but be allowed to climb the ladder to head a health department in hospitals and the health ministry? I think not …. Which is why you only have Malay monopoly in this panel? Malaysia has to overcome racial and religious segregation to bring the truly best to the top to meet the needs in the country.
I support your feedbacks...it's real in the hospitals but ivory tower Heads are putting their heads in the sand and racist MOH policies are not helping either 😢😭🤢
The difficulty lies in between a genuine and a bogus specialist. We have had a bad experience when seeking medical treatment in one private hospital in melaka. The specialist treating my daughter for stomach and reflux problem seeked a second opinion with 3 more specialists in our presence. After hearing a lengthy explanation from my daughter's specialist, one of them straight away diagnosed appendicitis as the cause of the prob. And we were bewildered when the rest agreed. We have had a short disagreement and then walked away. It was about 5 years ago. And my daughter alhamdulillah remains healthy till today.
What we need to seriously do is to go back to basic meritocracy. If you have what it takes to become a specialist then you should be able to become one. Looking at the 3 gentlemen who have been invited to speak here, they are the epitome of ability, they speak eloquently and have vast experience in their chosen fields so in the same manner, we can produce many more great doctors if we start to believe in meritocracy. Do that and you will see the change happen in a decade.
There are real needs of MO's and specialists in the country. At the same time there are too many roundabouts to go thru till all are dizzy and confused.
Most of the doctors are in the private sector minting money to buy new Mercs, Audis or Porsches for themselves. This shortage (of doctors) in the government service can easily be fixed if someone with brains is helming the relevant ministry. Also, the government has a vested interest in the private sector because, organizations like EPF is a major shareholder of some private hospitals. So, the government is also divided due to conflict of interest. Bottom line, if there's a will, there's always a way, but no one is bothered if an average person on the street dies. The real problem apart from stupidity, is apathy.
That’s why young doctors are overloaded and ended up committing suicides. Growing trends. Ministry of health no active actions. Hospital’s head of departments are keeping their silence. My daughter, overworked and had been on anti depressants. She had to sleep in the hot and humid car awaiting for in between calls which comes in every 15-30 minutes. 24 hours on every alternate days, for the past 3 years. Even machines will break down. Such inhumane practices is now systemic. Everybody knows but no one steps in. How many more deaths are required to jolt the authorities to look into these issues?
Through doctors applying to specialty training programmes. However the issue here is because the MOHE holds control over the training. And there's not enough consultants in MOHE to take on new trainees. This can very easily be resolved if MOH takes charge of training new specialists because there's way more consultants in MOH compared to MOHE. i want to be a specialist
Are specialists created by law? or by the quality of the person involved?
Through doctors applying to specialty training programmes.
