The first acceleration seriously caught me off guard the first time. And the second. And the tenth. This is definitely my favorite ride in the park. Did Big Bad Wolf serious justice.
my friend thankfully gave me the heads up (literally) about the drop track + accelerator before we rode - cause she had the misfortune of riding it the first time thinking it was a family ride and was completely shook by the end of it. If the interior LEDs/effects still worked like they used to (a lot were turned off/dimmed when I was there, they seem waaaay brighter in these 2010 era vids) I'd say Verbolten is one of the best Busch Gardens rides and you dont see a lot of coasters with dark drop tracks!
Verbolten is an absolutely worthy successor to the Big Bad Wolf. It is so wonderfully themed, the indoor portion is excellent, and the launches are exhilarating. It's on par with a Disney attraction, as far as I'm concerned. It also has several loving tributes to the ride that came before it (the wolf theme effects, the car with the WOLF XING license plate, the final drop following the exact same path as the BBW). A seriously great coaster.
I went on this ride like a week before it opened because they were doing ride rehearsals and then I also rode on it official opening day. The part where the track dropped was so scary cause absolutely noone expected it since none of us had gone on the ride before
Oooh! This was the first roller coaster I've ever riden. I rode it at night, and it was gorgeous, especially going over the water. Another time, I rode it when it was raining. I was in the first row. As we whipped around the corner, the rain struck our faces repeatedly. it hurt 😂
This ride was so much fun that I ended up going on twice. The first time my friend and I went, but she didn’t tell me about the drop which caught me completely off guard making it even better. I was like ‘why are we stopping?’ Then the drop happened haha.
Just added this to my bucket list. Looks like one of the best intermediate level thrill coasters I’ve ever seen. The dark section theming, the drop track, the launches, and the final swooping drop over the river… it seems like an absolutely perfect ride.

Hands-down my favorite roller coaster at Busch gardens🙌🏼😁 I love everything about it, the amazingggg theming, the high capacity (the line never gets too long), and the ride experience itself! Plus it’s fun to see what color car you get to ride!

Hammy Woods exactly especially when it was a long as line in summer it was so annoying but I’m happy I waited cane to the video for some old memories haven’t rode it in 6 years
I rode this ride a few years ago. I was super excited in line, but then some lady kept telling me there was a huge drop. I thought she was talking about the drop you saw outside. NOPE! I was having a lot of fun and then the ride stopped for a second, dropped, and then continued. Everyone was cheering and laughing. It wasn't the smoothest ride, but it was still very fun! 8/10.
I've ridden this one at least hundreds of times 🤩 I have these great memories during Christmastown, going on it later at night with my sisters when there was no line. We'd ride it OVER AND OVER AND OVER again 🤩🤩
This was my first major roller coaster, it really brings back memories. Any time I go to the park I always ride it a couple times and usually once before I leave I love it so much
I didn't know anything about this coaster when I first rode it. Just that big bad wolf used to be there. That drop freaked me out, lol. They did a great job.
Jon Doe Umm, I've been to both Cedar and Busch. Busch is 10X more beautiful than Cedar. Cedars scenery has nothing on Busch gardens. Cedar may have more rides, but Busch has always held the throne for the prettiest park.
This summer, I finally got the courage to ride my very first big roller coaster. And this gem, verboten, was it. This is my mom’s favorite roller coaster at Busch gardens. I was waiting for my mom to get onto the ride. I started regretting the fact I didn’t get on the ride with her. I was just about to get on the swings with a small child and her mom I had met at the park. I was nervous because I’m 10, and I have a caring mom that would get horrified if she got off and I was still on the swings. I finally decided to get on before the ride stopped and she was done, so I did it. Then when I was done, I got off and to my surprise, she was there waiting. She wasn’t mad. I had guessed she saw me on the swings from the stairs, so she wasn’t scared. She thanked the mom for something and I didn’t see them since. I walked up to her and said ‘’I wanna do verbolten. I’m doin it!’’ She was really excited. ‘’Will you go again with me?’’ I said. She responded with ‘’heck yeah!’’ (Aka the h word). So we got in line and waited for about 10 to 20 minutes. We were gonna do the first seat of the cars, but then she chose 2nd, because the first seat is more scarier. When we were at the gates to board, I started to get scared. But I didn’t want to make my mom mad because I had chickened out and wanted to leave that area. When we got to the seats, I started crying because I was scared. Mom said she felt bad after the ride. But when we starting moving, I started crying a little more. Then when we started getting on the actual track into the ‘’black forest’’ I was like okay this is fine wheee- because I was used to that small thing because all I rode that was a roller coaster before that was Grover’s alpine express. I had to cover my ears because of the loud noises in the Black Forest. But since I was covering my ears and not holding, on, i felt like I was going to fly out of the seat. And let me tell you one thing... *i did not think that there would be that many drops in the Black Forest.* when we reached the 17 foot drop before we go back outside, I said *’’DEAR GOD GET ME OFF OF THIS RIDE’’*. Then we went outside. I can’t really remember much from the big drop, because I was filled with so much fear that my body was like oh heck nah I ain’t scarring this child- all I can remember is the amazing view from the top, and the fear. When we got off the ride I had so many emotions. I was crying and laughing at the same time. I will never forget that.
I learned this from a tour guide but did you know that the drop track has three different available themes, one is a thunderstorm, one is a forest woman, and the third is a wolf referencing back to the ride that was in its spot, big bad wolf.
This roller coaster is so fun but when I rode it the launches caught me off guard. Definitely recommend this coaster to people who are scared to go on the big ones
@@latinadavis3691 the manafacturer who made the parts of the coaster closed down, so it was hard to find parts to replace big bad wolf so it just ended up being replaced with this. (this is what i’ve gotten from different people)

Rode this and it was a rush!!! I really enjoyed it, it is definitely in my top ten! Got the storm sequence btw and also that free fall drop was interesting and as much as I hate the feeling of drop towers that was to me what made the ride thrilling and fun, that drop bad me in adrenaline rush overload! I had some people laughing at me afterwards because I was yelling "OH MY GOSH! WOW! OH MY GOSH! WHAT WAS THAT?!" Then I said "That wasn't too bad!" I loved the drop near the Rhine River as well. Next trip to BGW I'll ride this right off!
People complaining about big bad wolf being taken out is the equivalent of someone who doesn't want to get rid of something they haven't used in 10 years
Exactly, like if it was there longer it would've started getting bumpy and the chance of an accident would increase. That's when they'd start complaining :/
Umm... no not really. Why would people complain if it was there? They wouldn't because it isn't going anywhere. Yet the ride went & now people complain & justifiably too.
It's kinda sad that y'all hate it because it replaced a coaster you rode when you were a kid. Grow up, the world doesn't revolve around you. EDIT (8/31/2020): I got a fucking notification for this comment and I had no clue that 14/15 year old me started this much discourse. This is where I *would* say I've became a nicer person, but I honestly haven't and I just give less of a shit about roller coasters now.
I've never ridden Big Bad Wolf, and sure it looked fun, and I understand people have nostalgia for it and are sad that it's gone, but Verbolten is probably far better. I've rode Verbolten, and it's an awesome and unique ride. Big Bad Wolf wasn't really something super different or unique. Sure, it was when it first opened, but time has moved on, and there are bigger, better roller coasters.
After I rode this I could literally repeat the line when you leave the station because I heard it sooo many times 😂 also p.s. you do turns in the tunnel just so ya lnow
I remember when this first opened , my sister and brother sent me on this ride to check it out . When I got off they asked me how was it , I said amazing , they then asked me if there was any sudden drops . I told them no so we all 3 road it little did they know they were in for it . We got to the point where the car stops and I turn around and told them that we had to wait for a ride vehicle that was in front of us before we could proceed . That’s when my brother heard the breaks lock , told him that it was for safety , that’s when it dropped . There reaction was priceless , so priceless that we got the photo and video. They did not talk to for the rest of the day, I even tried bribing my brother with a frozen lemonade ,but it did not work.
There are tributes for the Big Bad Wolf dollar coaster in this ride, too. One cart has a plate "Wolf xing", the drop by the river, and the wolf theme for the dark forest, too. This was my favorite ride there!! XD I made the mistake of letting all my air out so I could take a deep breath right before the tunnel... My lungs burned so bad lol.

I was at Busch Gardens for a week for my 12th birthday 2 or 3 weeks ago. I loved Verbolten!!
Auf wiedersehen!! 🤘🏻
Herzlich willkommen!
this is my favorite coaster! I wasny expecting the drop!
THIS IS THE BEST COASTER I LOVE IT
but big bad wolf was also really good I only rode it once BUT THIS COASTER IS AWESOME!!!!!
I miss Busch gardens so much I’m rewatching all of the rides
People complaining about big bad wolf being taken out is the equivalent of someone who doesn't want to get rid of something they haven't used in 10 years
Exactly, like if it was there longer it would've started getting bumpy and the chance of an accident would increase. That's when they'd start complaining :/
+RoguePenguin Yes, it did. it actually takes the same drop after the bridge and even uses the same footers for the supports.
Umm... no not really. Why would people complain if it was there? They wouldn't because it isn't going anywhere. Yet the ride went & now people complain & justifiably too.
KoasterKing 205 at least verboten is better 😆
Coaster Warriors it's bc it's a fast ride and they adjusted the head rests Maker™ my then taller and more cushioned
I love this ride only thing I hated was standing in line hearing that recording over and over and over lol
It doesnt revolve around you either.
I enjoyed almost being smashed into houses. BBW was better.
Your from a country
I've never ridden Big Bad Wolf, and sure it looked fun, and I understand people have nostalgia for it and are sad that it's gone, but Verbolten is probably far better. I've rode Verbolten, and it's an awesome and unique ride. Big Bad Wolf wasn't really something super different or unique. Sure, it was when it first opened, but time has moved on, and there are bigger, better roller coasters.
Nigga shut up
The scream at 2:51 sound like Eric Cartman I'm weak af 🤣🤣🤣😭😭😭
1. I admit that I have a plushy from da big bad wolf that I literally sleep with every day
2. I'm going tomarrow and I'm exited for this one :3
I rode this ride SO MANY TIMES! I also recommend loc ness monster
The person screaming made me watch this video multiple times. Watched it with Kush eyes and cush hearing too funny😀😛✌😍
A worthy successor to the BBW. Seriously.
After I rode this I could literally repeat the line when you leave the station because I heard it sooo many times 😂 also p.s. you do turns in the tunnel just so ya lnow
I haven’t been to Busch Gardens in years but this is probably my favorite coaster of all time
2:53 me: OH SNAP
other person: TIMBERS
me: X_X
Thats evil but thats funny as hell lmao theyll remember that forever
2:53 whos grandma is on this ride lol
mine…
There are tributes for the Big Bad Wolf dollar coaster in this ride, too. One cart has a plate "Wolf xing", the drop by the river, and the wolf theme for the dark forest, too.
This was my favorite ride there!! XD I made the mistake of letting all my air out so I could take a deep breath right before the tunnel... My lungs burned so bad lol.
