Eastern Religious scholar, Alan Watts, stated that the Hindu tradition includes a myth regarding half a Hamsa's eggshell becoming the sky and the other half becoming the earth. A similar egg-sky-earth cosmological story can be found in the Finlandic myths recorded in the Kalevala, where the eggshell of a duck forms the sky and earth.
    hamsa is asmah backwards.

as you all probably know sanskrit and old irish have a fair bit in common so much so, it would be remiss to suggest they did not cross paths at one time in history.

all our folklore appear to have animals shedding their skin and transforming into a human. only one type of animal really does this successfully 🐍
that which both Fionn and St Patrick got rid of.
Sadhbh changed from deer to woman.
caher sadhbh een. theres plenty of ringforts there!

Fourknocks mound is in the shape of Cygnus and you will read that if you visit.
They refer to it as Cold rocks/hills?
    Perhaps not 'cold'

    Children of
Hyperborea - apollo repeatedly mention 'delphin','swan' and 'lyre' (musical instrument) all close to each other in the sky. Niamh means 'sky/heavens' (neamh)
    Back of the neck
look at constellation and you will see what's on the back of the neck of cygnus.
I use Skywalk 2 adds are a pain but it shows all constellations where they should be.
all our stories are in the night sky.

Oisin Lally have you read “Celtic Heritage” by A & B Rees? Lots of Irish/ Vedic comparison there. It’s a Classic.

"Driving the snakes out of ireland" refers to the introduction of christianity in ireland, and the exodus of Irish pagans who were forced out of their own country because of it.
Also there were plenty of animals that could change between human form, like swans and deer.

@@wiseferret4745 pagan means villager. I'm assuming you mean it as a religion or culture. what existed in Ireland pre early ecclesiastics was more of a Hinduism although theres a strong gnostic vibe also.

Could the word said to mean "God" be translated as "lord" as in noble?
