- October 21st, 2007, California beaches and strong offshore winds with lots of barrels. This footage was taken at the time the fires began in Irvine, around 4:30pm. Video footage of surf taken north and south side of the Huntington Pier. was this during the fires. that was a trip. offshore winds great waves and the mountains on fire making the sky a weird orange.

For sure the best swell in the last 10 years. I surfed in San Diego for 9hrs that day. The waves were huge and perfect down here but the smoke was pretty thick at times...
The barrels in Huntington Beach can sometimes be the best in the world! only we need to have a little luck and be free to surf on a day like this!
yeah, it's called "shooting the pier"... Slater did it at the 2009 Hurley, or whatever contest in HB, and so did Adriano de Souza, in different heats.. it was sweet !

Looks like a good storm was coming in. It would be cool to film when the santa ana winds get those fires going up in the hills. It's fun to surf HB and NB when the santa ana's come in. Where are The Wedge Video's??
Huntington is a strange wave. It can be really good, but it can also be a big sloppy mess, and any time it is good it is really crowded.

Arguably the best swell of the 2000-2010 decade. Sure there were bigger, but did they come with howling offshores and perfect shape? Nope
