For any new viewers, Hi I’m Flando Maltrizian. I do this thing where I post timestamps to help myself and other people navigate these 4-hour long videos. Most people use them to find the place they fell asleep while watching live, to help speed up rewatch/catchup sessions, or to find good jokes and dramatic stuff. You can click on the blue timestamp numbers on the side, and the video will automatically go to that time and start playing. Good to be back for C3, see y’all in the comments.
Any moments I missed? Feel free to post them here. Is it Thursday yet?

Well, we know that Sam is definitely upping up his ad bit game to the next level this campaign. That was.. pretty over budget and camp!
Oh my god. I missed Sam's sponsorship ads nearly as much as the actual show!
Fun fact: Critical Role doesn't actually make any money off sponsors because Sam blows it on all on crazy bits like this ;)
If we got _this_ in Week 1, I'm almost scared of how it's going to escalate.

Matt would be a dream eye witness in a police investigation. Who ever he was describing would be caught before he was finished.
I never thought of it that way but you have a point
Well depends. If he starts by describing the person, yes. If he starts by describing the ambiance and scenery surrounding the circumstance, the offender would be in another country by the time the police can even start looking haha

So now in front of you is a fully finished Peanut Butter Jelly sandwich...
@@equinoxxed_7502You notice the bread is a little grainy, although unsure of the type of bread. The slices are evenly sliced as it seems, maybe a few millimeters off from each other. The jam has exactly 8 strawberries on the slice, and the peanut butter came from a beautiful farm in Nebraska.
I see the crew was so upset by Fjord's Southern Accent being fake they made 3 separate characters with southern accents in protest.
3? Who's the third?
@@TheElkMaidenn I think Liam's, Laura's and Sam's are the ones.
It's only Sam and Laura, Liam's character doesn't have a southern drawl
It kinda felt like an unnecessary twist when I learned that. Travis is from Texas, he didn't even need to fake it.
It's Marisha (Laudna). Her accent is described as Midatlantic by the Captions, which was sort of a fake stage accent that wasn't natural but rich people and actors, especially in the south would use it to seem fancy. Laudna kinda has a voodoo bayou vibe too.
Well, you know it's a Critical Role campaign when the primary antagonists are furniture and old people. It's the cast's kryptonite.
Thank God Matt didn't Throw a door into the mix, could have been a TPK session 1
In one game of the oxventurers (on OutsideXBox and OutsideXtra), they ended up fighting possessed furniture made from an evil tree in a forest they had previously visited. I thought at the time, "Love this, and there is no way Critical Role would ever do this" Oh, how little 2019 Brent did know....thought then again, there was the honey heist, and the nightmare before Critmas....but also, I didn't know about those then, so....have I Riegeled this reply yet? I like that each campaign kind of has their own color palettes. I love how nimble Orym is. The feint and jumping is really cool.
We always think that Sam cannot top himself… and every time he proves us wrong.
Knowing Sam's penchant for letterplay, I'll just say "Surfcasters"
Love him. always fun watching him kinda grow into his character
The scent line had me crying
When it comes to Sam Rigel, the only limit is reality itself
laura, last campaign: i'm going to tease my husband by awkwardly flirting with him
laura, this campaign: i'm going to tease my husband by whispering creepy voices in his head
💜
True love right there
She’s also doing a Southern accent like he was, they are perfect for each other.
I love it so much! Laura is the best!
i wasn't expecting to hear about fools gold here- this is amazing
I don't play or even know much about D&D, but after seeing multiple funny clips and YT shorts from their sessions, I thought I'd check it out. This was the first time ever see a proper D&D game, and it was so fun I watched the entire 4 hours in one sitting lol. I don't know if most D&D games are like this, or if it's just because they're all good actors and can really get in character and immerse us viewers with them, but I could really picture every "scene" in my head and it almost felt like watching an epic adventure movie or reading a good fantasy novel. I also love that they don't take themselves too seriously, there are so many funny moments, it's great. Ashley's character is probably my favourite, I can't quite tell if she's being sarcastic and chaotic, or if she's playing a kind of sweet and innocent character that genuinely means what she says, but it's adorable and funny and absolutely love it.
Most games aren't. CR is kind of notorious to some for setting unrealistic expectations of D&D. They have an amazing DM, trained actors, people who can do voices and sound effects, years of experience with the game, and a desire for storytelling and roleplay.
"You're really tall."
"You're really small."
"Ev...everything rhymes here..."
Oh I am ready for the return of this ride. XD
I guess that would make this party's name... "The Mighty Rhyme"?
I want to apologize, I'll see myself out.
@@lordhelmchen3154 Now now, no need to pout.
These things can turn on a dime.
If you did not notice, Dorian also said right after "And if I recall, it's this way" which rhymes.
Matt’s Herculean restraint in including neither a door nor a chair among the evil furniture.
Hed knows that we would have only asked for more doors (moredor)
So his plans for doors went away (gonedor).

Saving them for the boss fight
There should have been a rake :)
its too early to start planning for campaign 4. the tpk door would be legendary though
Carpet! Combat!
Robbie will forever be my Honorary Core member. He is amazing
I’m 53 episodes into this campaign now but had to come back to this episode to feel the absolute glee that was this first combat. Loving these characters WAY too much 🥰
Hey I’m fairly new to the game is this group accurate to what would happen?
@@haydenbunn1242 most groups will have slightly less members than CR but this is a pretty standard mix of characters. Different classes, backgrounds, hometowns and an overall chaotic vibe in getting forced together by circumstance. It’s a pretty classic beginning to what will become an inseparable adventuring party!
I already love Marisha's friendly horror cryptid so much
Same "I'm trying to help you!" *various people screaming*
She has BIG Winnifred energy.
"1 gold from another musician that felt bad for you"
Felt that in my soul. Worse than "paid in experience"
Well, not worse. At least he got some money for it.
@@trishapellis In an objective sense, yeah, although subjectively it can feel worse I imagine (being pitied, basically, when you've tried your best)
Isn't it "exposure" instead of experience ?
@@aureldocks people die of exposure. ‘Experience’ is better for optics.
@@brilobox2 I'll learn to like you halfway through the red
Phenomenal first episode! Feels so good to be along for the ride of another epic journey!
With the recent announcement of a Mighty Nein animated series, I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS TO BE ANIMATED!!!
Edit- especially bc that would mean more Robbie 😢😅
Probably be a few years for that one. Balls in your court Amazon!
FCG: Smiley day to ya
Imogen: Oh! You too
Matt: Oh no...
I dunnae get it
@@JB-xl2jc Me either. I think Matt foresees many gags and headaches ahead coming from the interactions between those two, but I’m not sure why.
@@JB-xl2jc they both have the southern accent lmao
If only Marisha was involved... Kentucky. All I'm gonna say.
I dont get it. What is the joke?
I think the dynamic between Laudna and Matt's terrified NPCs is going to make this campaign for me.
Beau lives on through Laudna's energy.
When she scared a cat it was such a genuine and funny moment.
I can tell already that Laudna in general is going to be one of the most hilarious parts of this campaign. Marisha is proving to be an endless fount of classic horror tropes and she puts her excellent comedic timing on full display. I'm really looking forward to seeing where she goes as a character.
Campaign 4 those kids are PCs hunting their one time nightmare 😳
the story telling is so good
Laudna: "I'll find more children"
Citizen looks terrified
Me: Wow that could gone better.
I swear if FCG's arc ends with "Does this unit have a soul?" Gurgling emotional sounds
I'm just praying Dancer isn't a reindeer.
@@raymonholt69 Heh. If they time the campaign to meet Dancer in December I will chuckle a bit.
That's when their arc begins. FCG will eventually sacrifice themselves to absorb damage from an ally. Then we get the soul arc and find out what Matt has planned to ressurect a robot.
hearing sam yell "I'M A REAL BOY" is going to be everything
Keelah se'lai my friend
My favorite thing so far is that Taliesin went from Caduceus, who said maybe 10 cuss words total, to Ashton, has cussed more than that in the first ten minutes of his introduction.
Charisma dump stat says F@#*!
Well, Percy and Molly swore a lot, that's just the type of characters Taliesin prefers. He likes that brutal friendship. I was surprised when Cad was a mellow natural kind-of-guy. But Taliesin might've been preparing that character for a while and really built on it, and wanted to respect the character.
Actually, now that I think about it, Percy didn't swear as much later in the campaign. I think that's just how Taliesin improvises when he's unsure how he wants his character to act 😂
We went from mysterious vibrant Molly to chill wise Caduceus and now....its a literal earth punk who is a "bad boy" vibe yet somehow also that cool drummer type?
@@grumpycloud30 He made another teenage arsehole. He sure loves them!
Percy and Cad are my favourite Taliesin characters, but there's hope for Ashton yet! I get massive himbo barbarian vibes from him
Marisha quickly became one of my favorites on Critical Role -- she was great as Keyleth, fun as Beauregard, and freakin' hilarious here as Laudna! lmao!
I gotta try meeting her at NYCC. Im seriously experiencing whiplash going between her 3 chars in my head.
I hated Beauregard but I do love this laudna
Her last two characters were pretty grating but Laudna genuinely does seem like her best.
Don‘t agree here last two characters were annoying at best. And for this one - well I‘m keen to see how Matt will handle it because a warlock/sorcerer can easily Break the Game
"Catch up crew. Here I stand at the finale of the catch up journey.
With C1, C2, many one shots and mini-series, I have arrived at long last to the current campaign. The latest episode on YT as of this post is EP60. Let's see how long will it take."
Also, this first episode was just great. I sure read a lot of doom posting about C3 and it felt like half of the vocal fandom didn't like that much. But I feel like I'm going to be the other part that loves it!
Campaign 3, here I come!
The same was true for C2 back in the day. Every campaign has different vibes, and a lot of people don't like change. Of course it's perfectly okay to have different favorites or prefer older content, but the very predictable, recurring complaints of "oh noes CR used to be good and now it's shit" is a pretty immature take.
They're creative storytellers, of course they're going to evolve and try new things. I'd be disappointed if they didn't! And I try to hold on that attitude even when any one particular offering might not land exactly perfectly for ME, personally.
(I've been really enjoying C3, FWIW - some arcs more than others, but that goes for the other campaigns too...)
I'm still trying to figure out if there was closure on the whole missing tittyrack megi thing.
I'm coming into this with 72 episodes to go. It's gonna suck having to wait a week each week.
I'm starting with 76 episodes to go... 😅 Btw, I've heard so many negative comments about C3 too but for me, this is such a much more interesting start than C2! I never really truly got invested in C2, it took me at least 50 episodes before I liked most characters other than Jester and Nott. But I'm loving all of these people already. This is gonna be fun!
here I am and 77 just aired, started in February and I so wanted to catch up to be able to participate on the fandom without fears of spoilers, but now I don wannaaaaa

Finally finished the first two campaigns and am starting to catch up. But HOLY SHIT! The production value is ON POINT this season!
The lighting change when they enter Lord Eshteross’ study gave me chills. I’m SO. FUCKING. EXCITED!
Marisha “the rug is more dexterous than I am?!”
Genie “ I can’t believe it, I’m losin to a rug”
Literally the first scene that came to my mind at that point.

At least it came at them without the door.
It has a really high thread count
Doors, chairs, and now get ready for rugs.

Lapsed critter here. Finally saw the Amazon complete series 1 and 2, and this is where I resume my Critical Role journey. Bliss.
Watching MIghty Nein as well, will be bouncing between the two over the next few months. I got the cast to meet in October!
I appreciate you guys. I listened to campaigns 1 & 2 over the last few years, aught Calamity, and decided to run into this one. The is awesome entertainment. Thanks.
The funniest part about Sam's "Good Smells" joke is
1.) He is a robot with no concept of the innuedo he made regarding his comrades name
2.) Knowing Sam he is talking about a cat
that second one is not something I have thought about, but I am sold!
It's also funnier because the rest of the cast seems to know exactly what it smells like.
Shame there isn't one called Teen Spirit
Up until that point I kept saying, "Why is his name F.C.G.?? That is a dumb name! Why???"
Cats can smell amazing, in the right circumstances. When I first adopted my girl as a kitten, she definitely had a "baby" smell to her. Especially her fat little tummy. :3 One of the best smells.
Right when he said they hear a snapping sound, I heard a gunshot from outside!! Really immersive experience from Brazil!
