Dan Lok I loved the revelation that a leader of people should consider themselves a servant to those same people. That’s so much more attractive to me than being my own boss.

Hi Sifu, I loved your top 5 takeaways from your perspective as an adult and as a "king" now! For me it was about taking control over your own life! When Scar took the kingdom over and everything went into chaos, Simba chose to run away and to ignore the hardships that were ahead of him if he chose to adopt responsibility as the rightful king. Later on Nala, as every woman you fall in love with, exposes Simba's flaws and makes him look into himself. Simba then chose to take action in order to actually fight for a life he deserves and to rightfully become the king he is. I believe in life you must do the same, to not run away, but to tell yourself the truth and to take massive action so you can be your own king in your life. Take responsibility of yourself and long live the "Lion King"! Amazing movie that will never die!

I like your tone in this video. Your delivery feels much more natural, we can see it comes from the heart. I also recently lost my father to cancer, and I can really relate with the first part of your video. He was a very hard working man, despite an handicap he worked his @$$ off for his family. Now that he's gone, I actually appreciate his life even more. It's ironic yet so true, that you don't know what you have until it's gone. He's also part of my inspiration to absolutely NEVER give up my business goal. As far as the Lion King goes, it is my favorite Disney movie for all the reasons you mention. It may be a cartoon, but it's as real as it can get. I also dislike the remake -- they removed all the emotion from it. The magic is gone. The way the original movie resonated with you/me/us, the new one does not. My point is, if you would use the new footage instead of the old one for this very video, it wouldn't be as emotional. It simply relies on nostalgia to grab our money (and at that, I'll say, it succeeded tremendously). So as a fan, dislike ... but as working man, I get it.

    Life’s lessons Mufasa taught me:
    Circle of life:
respect thy neighbor from poor to rich.
    Everything the light touches:
Create a good life while your sun is high, your sun will set eventually. Pass down the legacy.
    Mufasa stern judgement:
    Bravery doesn’t mean recklessness
    Look at the stars:
Respect the bones of the past to lead to a better future
    Remember:
Never forget where you came from.
Cheers to Mufasa for teaching us what it means to be kings and queens 👑🍻

My son has the same birthmark on the back of his neck as I do on mine (his is smaller than mine, but it's still there) when I'm gone all he has to do is look in the mirror and he can see that I will always be with him to guide him. Similarly just like Simba saw his father in the reflection of the water.

my daddy passed away in Hong Kong when I was on the plane back to Hong Kong from USA. I meant to see him at hospital, but never made it. Yes, heavy burden and guilt up to these days. I got the sad news at Tokyo airport on a long distance call to my uncle. I broke down.

Sifu, I love Lion King and so does my 11 and 5 years old boys. I remember seeing it in (I think it was 1994 or 5) theater and I was 11 than.
I loved that they didn't change anything, it just got me as emotional now, as it did last time.

I learned so much from this video, Sifu.
Again thank you for sharing this other intimate facet of you.
Having a father figure in your life is very/ extremely important- I’m blessed to have one, who has significantly helped me get to where I am today. He made Huge sacrifices for me, and I’m so grateful for all he has done.
this is just a big part of my WHY...
Also, the relationship part, a love relationship emanating from a friendship (a true and pure one) is a very strong one likely to last a lifetime (and beyond 😌)
    I love your content Sifu...
Please keep putting out enriching videos

Remenber when he met the HAKUNA matata guys and they thought that life had no porpuse?
Well, he actually didn't feel like that about life when he was with is dad. Is dad gave him a sense of porpuse and a contribution basis.

Seeing your video now remembered me of the time when I was 4 or 5. I was at home and I watched it on the video tape as a gift from my father. I cried at the scene when the king died... Even though my spirituality is a bit different from what I seen in Lion King I can say that indeed there are 2 precious lessons: find the right soul mate and second serve others more than you. Thank you Sifu for sharing this. Can you please make a video about spirituality? How Sifu sees spirituality in our time! PS. Very nice to see you in a T-shirt. Is like you are closer to us, more touchable 🤗. In fact I like the way you always dress. Thank you.

In this video I really like the #1 lesson, I also cried when i watched the Lion King. Also the other message is that it is good to have a mentor to guide you but the way to lear is by executing and not only relying on guidance. Excellent movie

i really enjoyed your video, the personal touch you give it is great : ) thx alot!
i only disagree with point #2. Scar is envious, feels rejected and treated unfairly. so i'd argue that he does have a reason to hate Mufasa, no matter if justified or not. as a kid i didn't understand why he would turn on his own brother because my parents always told me that family has to stick together : ) later in life i learned that this is a matter of resentment. when people get overwhelmed by resentment, they turn into something different so that they no longer recognize others in themselves and vice versa - they dehumanize everyone they encounter. the wish to belong turns into the desire to destroy (what others have). oldest story of that kind we probably know is Kain & Abel. my life lesson from this:
_never give in to resentment, or the shadow will follow you until you get devoured_
i absolutely agree with you on all other points - hope to see more life lessons like this :D

A good king does always get what they want, because what they want is whatever is best for those who look up to him for their security and prosperity. A good king no longer wants the trinkets dreamed of by star struck youths.
This is like young men dreaming of glory from war, compared to the veteran with metals, and a far away look in their eyes.
This was a great video, by the way.

I absolutely love The Lion King. Happy you made the video Dan. My favourite lesson is: Get over your concerns. Man the fuck up, because there are people who need you.
