Man, I love the long-form content. I love seeing the effort you put into feeding the people around you. I've already been inspired by a couple of these recipes. Might have to buy the cards now lol. Keep it up, Chef!
If you want to do a better har gow, first take your shrimps and place them in a bowl, cover with water. for each 1/4 cup of water add 1 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda. Let it rest for no more than 15 minutes, drain and use as usual. Your shrimps will become super plump. when you chop them, do not other chop, keep some bigger pieces, that's the beauty of the har gow. when you have dim sum, you don't see a shrimp puree in the dumplings.
My first anime was Princess Mononoke, it was shown in my art class in school, and it was what got me started into anime. Shout out to Rachel for her Kiki artwork, the cake looked delicious, and I am trying that marshmallow syrup. Can't wait for Cooking with Chaos, and I hope to see more of your videos that use it.
Slight 17:23 correction, with boxed cake mix you *want* to mix the hell out of it. You really can't over mix boxed cake mix. The mix is designed to be better with thorough mixing. With from scratch cake, absolutely do not over mix, but with boxed it's actually encouraged. Am I just now noticing the clamp on the above the fridge cabinets.
The first Ghibli movie I watched was Castle in the Sky. Definitely one of the few animated things I started watching around then that got me so into anime and other animated media. Love the Ghibli films to death
Princess Mononoke was my fist Ghibli film while Akira and Ninja scroll were my first anime films. That being said, at that age, Mononoke was by far my favorite. I still have the vhs 😁
I love seeing Gandalf! I had a grey kitty named Alfred aka Gand-Alf who I sadly had to put down because he had a neurological disorder that was slowly paralyzing him. The food as always looks delicious!
Gandalf remind me so much of my fluffy black grimlin cat Midna. She also LOVES to try and get on the counter when I'm handling raw meat, or just when I'm eating meat in general. Her favorites are pork, fish and chicken. I was removing pin bones for a fellet of salmon and was forced to push her off the counter with my elbow. She also demanded a bit of donut once years ago.
also if you submerge a ziplock in water up to the line you can push all air out for a clean seal. I use it to store all my meat in an almost vacuum since I dont have a vac.
Well this was amazing! That kitchen kind of felt like what my Aunt's house looks like on Christmas Eve, except that one is usually filled with 4 or 5 Aunties cooking all of their various dishes at the same time. When you make gigantic feasts, the food is important but yeah, it really does end up mostly being about the company.
Hey Chef, I remember from certain restaurants you can turn the bottom layer upside down and then put on the top layer. That way you don't lose any cake.
While I was watching this I was prepping for my husbands birthday feast. 😂❤ Prepping for gyoza, marianted chicken, making a cake. All that fun stuff. Cooking is definitely a labor of love
kudos chef job well done! u did great job! (for the ganache its correct ratio just dont stir it while its hot just let it sit for a few minutes before mixing to avoid the ganache from splitting) OG fan from 2020 lockdown era 👍love the vid chef
Hey ChefPK, I used to live in the Portland area and I just want to let you know that the Safeway in St. Helens Oregon usually has some kind of small game bird, usually pheasant or quail but I’ve seen others as well. It is about 50ish miles west of Portland. Hope this helps with some of your future anime foods!
I can help with the chocolate ganache. Making the right consistency you really on the ratio needed for the different amount of cocoa percentage. The cocoa percentage matters a ton which either result in a nice smooth consistency or lumpy and will break easily. But it easy to fix if you figure what you need more of
Your ganache literally just needed more cream. It's a 1:2 ratio of chocolate and cream, which makes it pourable but still able to thicken up when chilled.
When u are saying ghibli, my first thought was ponyo ramen. Yup, that came out There is of course many others as well, but this feast is a boom, love the cake
I did put this on while I was doing my favorite simple meal, zarusoba. Trying to find something else to use this giant daikon for. Can you use radish in Japanese curry? Also you can peel skin from the drums as well and add butter, saw that on “SYWGF podcast.” At the end of the day you are an absolute beast when cooking! I wanna be your friend for a campfire cooking feast 😂
I find it so funny if his neighbors actually started that herb garden cuz I knew that he probably use it and they get food from him anyways. That would be hilarious if this actually turns out to be true.
Cornish Game Hens would have been a good option instead of whole large chicken. If you added mince pork to the dumplings you would have had wontons or put them into rice paper and fried them you would have a Vietnamese shrimp and pork roll.
I hope to get your cards, I've been trying to drop hints to my chooms for holiday requests. May have to wait a little bit longer, but I'll get it, and the fun will begin. May play it with my mom, who was and is my first teacher 😊 .. I think she will love it.
Yeah there's no "ham" broth but could've gone tonkotsu. That probably would've been a lot more work though if you go all out and boil the bones to get a good pork stock and then add in the kombu and everything else.
I heard if you add olive oil to a ganache it tends to make it I believe shinier and maybe a bit thinner. Don't quote me on the second one I do know that the shinier one was the one I remember the most.
This might be a bit annoying to read. But is cooking with chaos going to release in other parts of the world or is it only going to be available in the states? BTW that entire feast made my mouth water.
There was a dish I had in Japan at a tea and desert shop in a massive train station mall. It was a hojicha chocolate mousse cake. I desperately need to figure out how to make it. It was one of the best things ive ever eaten
Pre-Order Cooking With Chaos so I can keep making feasts!
www.cookingwithchaos.gg/
Can't wait for this to be able to be shipped to Canada!!!
Me with the cards: Domain Expansion: Infinite Chaos (aka me using all the cards at once) also Gandalf is so cute
Marshmallow simple syrup? 😲My imagination is running wild. Adding it to hot cocoa. You could make some real interesting cocktails.
100%! Try it with a smores old fashioned and thank me later.
Dude the preparation that went into this feast made my head ache lol. Big props!
Same. And my feet ache. But worth it.
@@CHEFPKRYep! The photo at the end makes it so worth it

Between spirited away and Howl's Moving Castle, the food in those damn anime movies looks so good you make dreams come true 🤤🤤🤤
What a beautiful feast that I'm sure No Face would gobble down.
Man your videos keep getting better
Gandolf you greedy glutton. My mom and I do that with our instant ramen. We would add in an egg, bok choi and water from boiling bok choi.
I came for the anime food but stayed for Gandalf. Lol He's the best part of these videos lol
That butter hack for the chicken looks amazing, and now I'm drooling thinking about that with a really good compound butter...
Oh, ya! We do this for our holiday bird every year! SUCH a good method! 🤤
I do it for my regular chickys, too.

OMG EVERQUEST! Was my gateway MMO! I love how you're a nerd that isn't just anime! Gods, the memories.

Freaking awesome Video. George talking mtg while you are in the midst of a cooking frenzy is awesome. Hahahaha

Who else watches Chef PK's videos when they eat?
Also, you should do an MTG themed recipe. Food tokens?

Yep, I told Rachel that when I set up the cake. I forgot to flip the cake to prevent waste.
While I was watching this I was prepping for my husbands birthday feast.

Prepping for gyoza, marianted chicken, making a cake. All that fun stuff. Cooking is definitely a labor of love

Great video. Should do an anime christmas feast/ New years. Take recipes from every anime throughout 2024.
Don't worry Paul, I've never been able to trust chickens, evil creatures.
Wait, what? oh truss. yeah. never learned how to do that efficiently either.
I did put this on while I was doing my favorite simple meal, zarusoba. Trying to find something else to use this giant daikon for. Can you use radish in Japanese curry? I cant believe you just never feed Gandalf. Hes such a hungry boy
Don't let him fool you, he gets 4 meals a day

Filmd it on Halloween came out just in time for Christmas
Let me tell you, the food was so good!!
Pork belly? Look, I'm a 5'2" 110lbs woman, and I'D eat at least 3 pieces . 😂❤
my first anime movie was my neighbor totoro its still my favorite movie to this day

8:45 I mean there is pork ramen so ham flavored would still be pork ramen
57 mins ago and 57 mins long vid, Love the vids!
This might be a bit annoying to read. But is cooking with chaos going to release in other parts of the world or is it only going to be available in the states? BTW that entire feast made my mouth water.
Not annoying at all! I'm hoping to have it available for other countries next year once we lock down shipping and if we hit certain sales
i really enjoy making a lot of food for friends and family, i just don't like the cleaning part
Chef
Is there a good brand you can find online?
In ordered some off amazon and they had zero flavor.
For which ingredient?
Sorry XD
The red beans.
I thought i typed that lol.
I think the ham in Ponyo is chashu. I think. I've never watched it in Japanese language. 🤔
Am sooo hungry 🤤
What was review on Ham based broth , How was it?
It was great! A little salty since the ham is cured, but still tasty.
I saw ghibli feast and I came hoping to see the spirited away feast
hi chef! wondering if would you ever reupload the food wars reactions on patreon?
Maybe! I'll think it over a bit :)
not the raw egg makes stomach ache, its the raw unheated flour! :)
Why didn't you use the eggs on top of the fridge?
yayyy i made it to a video early
❤
There was a dish I had in Japan at a tea and desert shop in a massive train station mall.
It was a hojicha chocolate mousse cake.
I desperately need to figure out how to make it. It was one of the best things ive ever eaten
I need to make that for my second channel...
@CHEFPKR
OMG please do!
I will forever be in your debt
It was from Saryo FUKUCHA at Kyoto Station
how tall is chefpk anyone know
5'10
I am lucky, and I have sport hunters in my family. So I have about 16 pounds of quail in my freezer
Pretty sure you took the cream for the ganache to far
it's Halloween?
You could put the shrimp in the food processor but should you? Did it once, and never again. You're better off chopping, trust.
Yay i was like 666
